Farathal, the Farmers' Hills

Description:
These sprawling hills are of a gentle curve a fertile soil ideal for farming. Already irrigated from years of agriculture, the region attracts many an aspiring farmer. There is one road that leads in and out, heading for Deralo City, a dozen or so miles away. This road ends at a marketplace where the people sell their wares to others and send them by cart back to the larger towns. There is no established roads to any of the farms, but well-worn paths have been paved under hoof and boot. It is a rather peaceful scene, the only things to worry about is a drunkard ruining your day or an animal ruining your crops.

Prospekt strolled back to his farmhouse, a large basket filled with carrots and turnips was held in one hand, and a scythe in the other. He walked to the food storage building and emptied the basket's contents. He deposited the scythe in the tool shed, then leaned on the animal's pasture's fence, staring out at the setting sun. His horse Stalword, a black stallion, approached him. Prospekt patted his snout, then returned to his home. He sat down at a small bench near the front door, and took off his dust covered gloves and boots. He stopped there, and looked around the silent, empty house. "I need to get a wife." He said to himself with a light chuckle.

Takara crept in between the rows of crops, keeping her body low to the ground. It was a little before dark, but she didn't want to wait to get food. She was so hungry, that it was making her a little stupid.

Prospekt stood and walked into his kitchen. He pulled out a large pot and began to make a stew. He lit a cooking fire, and put the pot over it with the ingredients in it. He took a stick from the fire, and began to light lanterns around his house.

Takara could hear him moving around, but that was okay. She just needed to get into the building where he stored his crops. And he was just one man. She could out run him if she needed. She made it to the building and slowly opened the door.

Prospekt returned to his stew, and using a spoon, tasted it. After a few seconds of thought, he said "Needs more carrots." He straightened and picked up one of his lanterns. He walked outside. The sun was almost set, and he used the lantern to light the ground below him. He began towards the food storage room.

Takara had slipped inside by that time. She began to gather some vegetables.

Prospekt reached the food storage and saw that the door was open. He stared curiously at it before he heard noise inside. He sat down the lantern and quietly pulled his gold-like sword. As it left the sheath, nearly hundreds of runes could be seen on its blade, protecting it from various things as well as giving it various powers. He crept up to the door and stood in the doorway.

Takara finished and tucked everything into her clothes. When she turned to leave, she saw a figure in the doorway. She froze, her heart pounding in her ears.

Prospekt looked at the girl and tilted his head. "What are you doing here?" He asked curiously. He didn't seem threatening at all save for the weapon in his hand.

Takara looked at his sword and back away from him, quivering. She looked around for a way out.

Prospekt looked at the girl and noticed that she was stealing his crops. But he noticed how scared she was, and felt sick with himself for intimidating her. He sheathed his sword. "Wait stop." he said showing his empty hands. "Are you hungry? I have stew cooking inside."

Takara watched him now. She didn't know what he was trying to do, but she was hungry. She nodded slowly.

Prospekt backed away from the doorway. "Well come in and get some." He stood ready to grab her if she tried to run away anyway. "And if you haven't already, grab a few carrots."

Takara slowly walked forward and then tried to bolt. She wouldn't have gotten far before she collapsed from low blood sugar.
