Royal Palace and City of Wearwynn

Map Name: Royal palace, and City of Wearwynn (Pronounced Wear-rin)
Landscape/Area: The royal palace, surrounding city and royal gardens which extend into a great forest.
Description: A stone city made when time was young and the elven people stood great everywhere. The palace is a grand, nearly impossible look structure, surrounded on one side by the city which has expanded to newer builds. It lies in a country across the ocean where edict is everything, and the older you title the more important you are.
The country recently experienced a civil war so most from out of country in are watched with distrusting eyes. Elves with mixed blood are frowned upon, but that is changing. The current king is not yet twenty-five, married to the second princess of the neighboring country, and his younger sister has gained the title of Guardian of the dragon. These three people rule barely holding on to their titles given by blood, and gained back by battle.

[Enters from Across the ocean.]

Ambersky circled the castle, slowly, Mit on his back. He sent a mental thought to his partner, "Where should I land?"

"The clearing just before the forest," Mit answered. He'd pulled on his formal wear in their last break. (Same as this, only green.) "Tell the others."

Ambersky sent a thought to both Tora and Violet, "Follow me in for the landing... The guards don't like us landing in front of the main entrance..."

Violet nodded and continued to follow them.

Tora followed behind Violet.

Ambersky backwinged onto the manicured lawn of the last clearing before forest. Leaving at least twenty feet behind him. He stood tall for a moment waiting for the others to join him.

Mit pulled one foot across Ambersky's shoulders so he was still sitting on the gryphon, but relaxed. "Well, lady and gentle men... Here we are." He said as Violet and Tora landed, "Welcome to Wearwynn."

"It sure seems impressive," Violet said, looking towards the large castle.

Tora landed lightly on the ground, "That it is," Tora agreed with Violet.

Mit nodded, "My grandfather's grandfather's father, help build that castle... His wife made the stain glass window in the grand hall." He slid off Ambersky's back and ran his fingers through his hair trying to comb it out, "This place used to hold five hundred nobles, their staff, and guards from four different races during the decade meetings. Now it barely has a hundred people total in it... Thanks to the coup."

"It looks like they are still on edge from the last battle... Even after almost two years..." Ambersky pointed his beak at the quickly approaching guardsmen. In the lead was a large pale man, in a black uniform, different from the blue guards. The blue guards carried spears, but the pale man had a sword drawn, "West looks happy to see us."

When the pale man saw Ambersky he started charging up the hill to the group, leaving the rest of the guards in the dust. He looked like a man about to hurt someone.

Mit just grinned, "Isn't he always?"

"Aerowrynn won't be happy if you show up with a black eye..." Ambersky warned

Violet surreptitiously shifted some stones under the man's feet to make him trip.

The dark clad guard was faster on his feet then to be tripped up by a few moving rocks. He shouted as he got close enough, "YOU SNIVELING LITTLE MAGE!!! YOU SO AFRAID OF ME THIS TIME THAT YOU HAVE TO USE MAGIC TO ATTACK ME RATHER THAN YOUR FISTS!!!"

Mit laughed loud enough for the man to hear, "I do believe that the longest string of words you've put together in a couple of years. Hurry up and get up here so I can greet you, old man!"

Ambersky turned his head to look at Violet, "Lord West is Princess Aerowrynn's personal guard. He's now in charge of the palace guards. He holds a title 'Sword of the dragon' it's shortened to 'Sword'. He and Mit have never hurt each other."

West reached the top of the slop and jumped into the air, to bring the sword down in the place Mit had been standing a few months ago. Mit floated away like a leaf on the wind. West left the sword and went at Mit bare fisted. The blue guards stayed far enough back to stare wide eyed as their commander kept missing the flashy looking noble. Finally West caught Mit by the throat, and grinned, "I win, Mage."

"Draw, Sword master," Mit said and pressed his fingers a little harder into West's ribs.

The pale man growled and released Mit, dancing away, "I thought you were traveling... for your master."

"Came back..." Mit grinned, "Meet Lady Violet, A mage and delegate from the Fairy across the ocean, and the white one is Lord Tora. He's delegate from much farther away. Sky translates for him. My lady Violet, Lord Tora, this is The Sword of the Dragon and Guard commander, Swordmaster West."

The guard looked at them for a moment, then clicked his heels together and bowed until his body looked like a right angel, "Lord, Lady."

Violet looked away from them when they started to fight. Even though Ambersky had assure her they wouldn't hurt each other, it sickened her a bit. After everything that had happened between her and Iris...

Tora looked at the fight with disinterest, "Tell him 'it's an honor to meet you'," As Ambersky relayed the message he bowed with one leg under him.

"Lord Tora is honored to meet you Master West." Ambersky said lowering his head politely.

"Thank you, Lord." West bowed again, "I shall escort the four of you to court." He turned and started down the hill to the palace. The guards look confused but fall into formation and march after West.

Mit pulled his coat straight, and offered his arm to Violet, "I'm sorry... West and I often spar. I'm so accustomed to greeting him in such a way, I didn't think about how you would take it... Please allow me to walk you in."

Tora walked behind Mit silently.
