This had more or less settled down in Tianxia's North House. Well, settled was a relative term when cubs were about, but for the most part things had fallen into a routine.
It was... strange, going from outcast to valued advisor, guard, and cub-keeper. Certainly not something Ushu would have ever thought would happen to him, even when he'd been the foolish youth in the Pridelands. He'd always dreamed of something more, but never believed that anything would really happen. And now look at him! Second only to the Lord and Lady! He felt blessed to have gotten this second chance, a chance to redeem himself and make something more than what he had been. And the cubs... he loved Sheng Kou and Fu'ren's cubs like he would have his own, if he'd been lion enough to stay and raise them. Xun Lin, in particular, had a soft spot.
Ushukuru, known here as Shu Meng, sighed as he stood on the top tier of the den's, looking down over the lands before he turned to moved down them. After depositing the cubs with their mother, it was time for him to find his own sleeping place on a lower tier as befitted his station. With the sun just kissing the horizon and a long day of entertaining active cubs behind him, he was quite ready for a nice sleep.
