What would you suggest?

Okay, I was considering on starting a video blog kinda thing on my youtube account, like I'd record a video like once a week (or maybe more often than than, I dunno just yet) about my life or something in the news or something completely random. Anyway, I was wondering what kind of video equipment would be good. Like, should I get a mini laptop with a built in camera, eliminating two birds with one stone, or something else? (btw, When I start doing videos, I'll let you all know what my account name is and post a link to it smile )

If u decide to do any editing, Microsoft movie maker is easy to use ( if u can survive the lag) and automatically convents to avi movie format
any camera will do, i prefer the camera separate -in case is has to be moved for any reason...only problem is finding a spot of where to put it. Good lighting can be important...
and safety comes before anything else
