Reben Knola- The Dead City

Tigris saw something fall towards the Angeko Ruins. Too much seemed to be happening at once. This place didn't seem salvageable, so she wondered what Sanguinius was going to do.

Let it hereby be announced that:
Sanguinius watched the thing streak through the sky, just as he had moments earlier. Then, the man near him had vanished. He looked in the direction the light had fallen. He looked at her. "I'm going to go investigate whatever that was. I can try and deposit you somewhere safe on the way?" He suggested. He wondered if that streak had come from any similar origins to him. Had one of his fellow primarchs survived, perhaps? Or, perhaps it was quite the opposite - one of the traitors. He had to mentally shake himself and remind himself the improbability of either of those happenings.

Tigris shook her head, "I'm coming too," She said. She bent down on all fours and ran towards the Angeko Ruins, expecting the man to follow.

Sanguinius hurried up after her. "It might be swifter to fly," He told her, looking in confusion at the curious manner in which she was running, but not questioning it.

"I hardly have wings," Tigris said and continued to gallop towards the ruins.

Sanguinius sighed as she sped further ahead of him and jumped to glide to catch up with her. He had been offering to carry her there, but it was clear she either didn't want to or didn't care.

the place Tigris would land was in the square just outside the palace. it was completely empty, stands still stocked, though all the food was either gone, or rotten horribly. not a sound could be heard, save for running water, all of which was black, as the thin disk of water from which Tigris appeared just above the ground, high enough for Tigris to drop from. there was a strange black fog, billowing in the distance, quite quickly, too quickly to be natural, in fact, towards the palace area, like a wave of death, the entire cloud of fog seemed to have a malevolent feel, like Death Incarnate.

Tigris went towards where she was supposed to go, then realized that the person she was looking for was gone. Ignoring the world around her, she soon discovered that the person she seeked was gone to another area. So she took off at a run, galloping across the land, towards her new destination.

The wave of fog seemed to rush into the square, chasing Tigris, but once she left the city, the fog stopped, then flowed away, purposely.

The Reaper walked into the dead city, tasting the air. this was hardly what he had anticipated... someone had let the mist out of its resting place... and the entire kingdom had paid for it... luckily, the prevailent winds and elevation of the surrounding areas had contained it... but even so, an entire city was dead.seeing this, the Reaper was suddenly confident that Fog would be unable to harness the mist for the ritual... however, the Reaper also knew there were alternatives... and he didnt know which Fog would choose. with no other options, the reaper decided to wait, in case Fog did in fact come to Reben Knola.

Sanguinius flew back into the town where he had originally found himself. He looked around and eventually came upon the man. "Have you not made any progress in my absence?" He asked

"I have not found the man who bears the book, but i have a strong suspicion that he will not be successful here." The Reaper said knowingly.looking around for a better vantage point, the Reaper leaped, landing on a nearby flagpole, standing on it with supernatural grace and ease. "However with luck, he will still try and obtain what he seeks here, but without..." The Reaper stopped, then scowled. "If i were you, i would get off the street." the Reaper said, as a breeze, carrying a taste of death upon it blew past, coming from the direction the Reaper faced.

Sanguinius raised an unseen eyebrow, but lifted off the ground with his wings anyway. "Why is that?" He asked, moving to land on top of a nearby building. His armor was too heavy for him to hover using his wings. He had to be moving.

It wasnt more than thirty seconds after Sanguinius was out of view from street level before a wall of fog, taller than a man, but not as tall as the buildings, rushed through the street below, sounding like the wails of the entire citie's dead. it flowed through, a poisonous mist, moving as though with a sentience of its own, ignoring the reaper, who stood easily in view. a bird, however, caught unaware just upon an awning had no chance, as the fog lashed out, eating at the creature with ease, the poor bird trying to fly away, but falling apart in flight. then, just as quickly as the deadly mist came, it left, flowing off down the street, towards another part of town. "Thats why." The reaper said simply, gesturing at the mist.
