Reben Knola- The Dead City

Description

the once prosperous city of Reben Knola. the most powerful city on the continent of Rell, Reben is now a lifeless shell of its former self. all across the city, there are corpses, all of them locked in the eternal terror they felt, just before death took them. not even the wind seems to be able to survive here.

Landscape

a massive city, located on the shore of Rell continent. there is no life here anymore, since any animal that had lived here is now dead. birds, fish, pets, and the inhabitants of the city all rest now, for eternity. not even the plantlife survives. hidden under the center of the city, there is an ancient temple, constructed to last forever, though the construction was obviously done in a rush... the doors have been busted in.

A red streak flicked down from the sky, crashing with great force, blasting a large crater in the ground. Dust billowed out of the hole, and silence gripped the ruins once again. Eventually, the dust cleared to reveal a kneeling warrior, about two feet taller than an average human, wings spread behind his back. His armor was red as blood and his helmet obscured his face, a white cloak flowing off his back. Strapped on top of this cloak was a large spear.

The warrior searched the area and frowned underneath the helmet. "Am I already too late for this world, too?" came a whisper from his lips. He stood up and took a short flight out of the crater. The man looked around, wondering what had befallen this place. There were wretched corpses strewn everywhere and the buildings were torn nearly to the ground. Why was he always too late?

Wandering lost though the destroyed area was a young girl. While her expression was fierce, her movements were not so much. Her leg was badly wounded and she used a cane for support. The clicking of her cane echoed through the empty place. She hid when she heard something falling, but now she is ready to investigate.

The warrior heard something clicking elsewhere in the ruins. After glancing around, the man rushed towards it, making a large amount of noise, but not being too concerned about it. There might be a survivor who could tell him what had happened here. He glanced around. "Hello?" He called, his voice rough from years of isolation.

The woman leaned against a wall, trying her best to hide. She didn't know if the man was a friend or not. Blood trickled down her leg again and she cursed under her breath.

The man turned his head towards a slight vocalization he heard. "Hello?" He repeated before clearing his throat, "I am here to help." He raised his arms above his head, showing his passiveness.

The woman sighed. Even if she fled, he could simply follow the trail of blood.
The girl weakly crept out from behind a half fallen in building and looked at the man, leaning on her cane a lot.

The warrior looked at this newcomer. He seemed to be searching for a number of things. The gaze drifted to her ears, to her eyes, and to various other pieces of her body as well. they lingered especially on the damaged leg. "What is your name?" He asked, slowly lowering his arms.

The relatively human-looking girl replied with a calm voice, "I'm Tigris," She said, "Who and what are you?"

"Sanguinius," The warrior replied, "I am Adeptus Astartes." He looked her over one last time, "And you are?" She looked mostly human. Certainly not any xenos he was used to. She lacked pointed ears or the taller body, green skin, an exoskeleton, or grey skin. Perhaps the human species lived on this planet, too?

Sanguinius raised his eyebrow at her revealing that she was both human and had never heard of the Adeptus Astartes. He had to remind himself that the empire which he had been so prominent in was now decimated. And who knew how long ago that had occurred? "I doubt many have," He replied, "You seem to be bleeding. Would you like assistance?"

The guy hasn't given her a reason to refuse, "Can you help me bandage this?" Tigris asked.

"Of course," Sanguinius told her, "Do you have bandage?" He wanted to be sure if she had some. His was in limited supply, so if she could supply it, all the better.
