Barona Bay

"But it's fun!" Tabris said again.

Rajei laughed a little. "Well, alright then," she said. She petted Tabris's hair and then laid back in the water, floating on her back.

Tabris did as well.

Rajei rolled onto her stomach and then swam towards Kai. "Hey, Kai, come swim with me and Tabris," she said.

"Okay," Kai said, and looked to see if Rei wanted to as well.

Rei shrugged. She didn't not want to, so she swam over there. She was feeling very apathetic and detached, and it kind of worried her.

"You okay?" Kai asked.  

[marixe alcyone]

"...yeah," Rei said. "Just...thinking." It was true; she was thinking - about what could be wrong with her that she'd be acting like this. She was usually detached and wasn't interested by many things, but she'd never felt like doing nothing before. To be disinterested in everything, not even objecting to doing something, but to just not care, it worried her.

"Looks like you thinking about something serious," Kai said.

"...n-no," Rei said. "I mean, no, no, everything's fine, really, Kai," she lied. She was somewhat pleased with herself that she had managed to work up some sort of emotion.

"Doesn't look like it," Kai said.
Tabris swam over to her and splashed her in the face playfully.

Rei looked down briefly, ashamed that she had lied to Kai. But she didn't want to worry him at all. After all, it could be nothing, though she didn't think so.

"Kyuu?" Tabris looked at her and tilted her head.

"I-it's nothing," Rei said again. She smiled a bit to Tabris. "Nothing's wrong."  

[UkyoKuonji2004]

"Kyuu!" Tabris said and hugged her.
