Thanks everyone. heart
I guess I'll elaborate on thing some more... I've kind of been away from Gaia for a long while.
Anyway, on Easter (of all days) of this year, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a cancer that attacks the lymph system (blood, immune system and all that fun stuff. The normal person has lymph nodes in their neck, chest and under the arm. When you get sick or an infection, sometimes these get swollen, for lack of a better word. So you may have noticed, sometimes when you have a bad cold, you might feel a lump under your arm; that's a lymph node). What the cancer was doing was messing around with my lymph nodes and basically created tumors in that system. I had one in my neck which was pushing against my trachea and making it hard for me to breathe, another under my arm, and one about 9cm in diameter in my chest (my lungs were unable to inflate properly).
Those with a keen eye may have noticed I'm using past tense there. ^^ I'm happy to say that chemotherapy has been quite successful. There's still a little bit left, but I'll be starting radiation soon to fry the leftovers.
It's been a rough six or so months since then, chemotherapy was horrible (I lost my hair! gonk crying ) and radiation probably won't be too fun either, but the good thing is, this type of cancer is one of the first ones they cured and has a high success rate. My doctors are confident that at the end of all this, I'll be cured.
