Oh god yes! I love these kinds of games. My boyfriend and I have spent hours playing Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Final Fight.. you name it, we'll play it. I definitely think sidescrollers are best played with another person.. otherwise it gets really boring. And more often than not, the music in these games rule.

Brawl's not really a "beat 'em up" in the traditional sense. He's talking about old-school games where you actually punch your enemies to death on a 2D plane. If you're talking about Subspace, I guess you could classify that as one, but it's pretty terrible. xd

Anyway, River City Ransom is pretty awesome, but Ninja Turtles II is probably my favorite.

I love these kinds of games. X-Men, TMNT, Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and my personal favorite,Captain ********' Commando.

WORLD TOUR! YEAH BOY! I always played Ralph. My cousin always tried to kill and eat me, but I usually whooped his a**.

Ralph was the best. I remember this one time staying up all night playing that game...Good times.

I guess Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV Turtles in Time would be the winner for me. Any Megaman game that has Zero and I can play as Zero would be the rest of my beat 'em ups.

I don't play a whole lot of beat 'em ups. But the ones the ones i've played were pretty fun. I spent the most time on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the GBA. That games awesome, just short. But I replayed it many times.
