Stratus Spire

"Do you want something?" The man asked.

Adele shrugged. "Not really," she said. She had gone from her normal hostile personality to a slightly cooler-tempered one that she rarely showed. In her mind, it was not worth her time to keep being so hostile.

The man casually tested his newly formed arm as he walked, "I don't like being followed."

"And I don't like being annoyed," Adele said quietly. She moved to quickly walk past him. "There. Now you're not being followed."

"Good," He said and headed for the stairs to the next floor, since he was originally going to the stairs leading down.

Adele, as it turned out, was also heading up, so the man was following her now. She reached the next floor and looked around, her sword ready for any monsters that might have been there.

On the next floor the man stopped and let her keep going. He looked around quietly, thinking.

Adele paused briefly, but kept going up. At the next floor, there were monsters that began attacking her almost immediately.

He stood there quietly for a moment, then he temporarily blanked out. His eyes became clear as his mind gave him an image of a large grey four winged dragon. The image lasted only a moment though before he came back to his senses. He shook his head, "What was that...?" He said to himself.

Adele could sense...something coming from below her in the tower, and it distracted her long enough for one of the monsters to scratch a long gash down her arm. She screamed out in pain and surprise, trying to go back to fighting.

The man could sense trouble upstairs, probably from the girl he was having trouble with before. His breathing and pulse quickened from the scent of blood and he felt his anger rising.
At that point, he blacked out.
His body began to grow and transform rapidly, shadow magic swirling around him. From his back sprouted four beautiful wings. Very quickly, he became the dragon that he saw in his mind.
He flew up, at the ceiling. Ripping a hole through the ceiling not too far away from Adele, he attacked the monsters that were threatening her.

Adele cried out in fear when she saw the dragon and backed away, clutching at her wound. She was afraid, something that rarely happened for her, and it scared her even more.

He continued to beat away the monsters that got close, making sure Adele was safe.

Adele used her sword to knock away any monsters that got close to her.
Soon, all of the monsters were dead.
Adele had backed into the wall and had dropped her sword to take care of her wound. She watched the dragon warily and somewhat fearfully.

The creature didn't make a move to hurt her, he just stood watching for danger.
