Dethan, City of Perpetual Darkness

Lily nodded back and headed towrds the city. As the reached a more populated part she began to feel a little overwhelmed with the feelings of hate and anger but she did her best to keep herself composed.

Kir watched her curiously as they walked down to the stores. He then noticed a stationary store. He pulled on her sleeve for her to stop and he walked into the store for a few minutes. He reappeared with a thick notepad and a mechanical pencil.
He smiled, "Now we can talk," He wrote and handed the notepad to her.

Lily smiled when she saw the note. "yes, that makes it a lot easier." she replied then continued, looking for a spefic shop. After a few minutes of walking she finally found what she was looking for and walked inside.

In the deep darkness of one of Dethan's alleyways, the shadows condensed into something. Something sentient. Durrahn glanced around and hissed. The shadows he had arisen from were not yet returned and he found the slight, unnatural light to sting his white eyes. The strands of darkness from his back inspected everything as the glow faded. The creature wandered out onto a street and looked at the few people out there, hissing at anyone who would come near. Normal thoughts did not yet cross his mind. Only desires. His current desire was hunger. And so the dark beast leapt at the nearest person, his jaws enveloping the being, leaving no remains. He glanced around, as if daring any onlooker to reprimand or attack him

Evil?! Kir thought suddenly. He could sense there was something nearby with a taste for blood.
He walked hurriedly into the shop where Lily went. He hoped that the evil he felt would pass him by. He knew that to an evil being an Angel like him would be a morsel.

Lily felt Kir's panic but didn't know the reason why but reframed from asking him about it just then. Right now she had to deal with a particularly nasty shopkeeper who found pleasure in tormenting her every time they met.

Durrahn felt something touch him. It was a glancing touch, more like someone had sensed him, but he didn't completely recognize that. He grabbed hold of the feeble link and pulled himself closer,running on four legs. He reached a building, getting to the vicinity of the connection, unable to localize it further. The creature sniffed around and caught the scent of something delicious. His first word was almost breathed out- "Angel..." He slammed open the door and let out a high pitched hiss.

"...!!!" Kir looked at the creature that walked through the door. His eyes fearfully darted around for anything from a weapon to an escape.
He figured the best thing for him to do is try and get away from innocent people. He ran to the window and shattered the glass. Ignoring the small cuts, Kir took to the air, flapping his wings desperately until he finally had some good distance.

Durrahn hissed again, his shadowy form flowing through the broken window with ease. He slid along the ground after the angel with single mindedness of a wolf after its prey. He swung his claws pointlessly at the angel, being unable to fly.

"...!!!" Kir was still in a pure panic. He feared what would happen if his wings gave out. He hoped the creature would leave him alone, but he had no way to speak to it.
He then remembered the notepad in his pocket. He pulled it out and started to write, "I'm not tasty! Please don't eat me!" When he finished he let the notepad drop to the ground.

Durrahn looked at the falling object and tried to smell it from where he was. It ended up hitting him on the nose. He hissed at it and then looked at the notepad. The strange markings on the paper confused him. The creature hissed at the angel again and went back to clawing the air, stretching from the ground this time.

That didn't work?! He can't read it?! Kir thought in frustration. He had to keep himself afloat until someone can save him, but who would want to attack this thing?

Durrahn continued to scratch the air more and more until the exercise worked up his appetite to the point at which he couldn't wait for the angel. "For....get....it..." He breathed and then slid off to a more populated section of the city, searching for another meal.
[[Fair enough. I was just waiting 'til everyone else was gone.]]

Kir saw the creature give up on him, but it only caused more problems.
He's going to attack the townsfolk again! Kir thought and formulated a last minute plan.
Folding his wings back, he landed on the ground and shot very small arrows of light at the creature. He then prepared to make a run for it.

Durrahn's tentacles sensed the projectiles coming, allowing him to dodge a few. But one made it past the feelers, and pierced his shadowy flesh, protruding from his back. He let out a hiss which slowly elevated into a screech. He searched the area for the culprit, eyes quickly alighting on the angel again. Noticing it in the air, and reading his previous error, he climbed the nearest building wall, using the bricks as footholds. Once at the top, the creature began rushing at the angel, ready to stretch from the roof at him.
