The Steel City of Garensvoid

"Ah." Shane responded softly before leaning against the fountain so that he was close to her. He was silent after that, dreadfully so. Then again what was there to be said anyways?

With a puff of black mist, Len transitioned back into her girl figure. She looked vaguely satisfied as well, like how she was when she was a cat.
"...Master just wanted me for something...That's all..." She explained.

Shane nodded with another, "Ah." He looked up at her, she looked well, not happy but...satisfied is a better term. She did have a beauty to her, a cuteness that attracted him to her, but he looked away and out the city. "Anything new?"

"...Not particularly...Master has a nonhuman friend..." Len said, also looking towards the city.

Shane looked over at her, "I thought you said he kills all non-humans?"

"...Master holds a strong desire to kill nonhumans...He tries not to unless there is no other choice..." Len said.

Shane nodded and said, "Still safer for me to stay away eh?" He looked at his blade and nodded, "Understood."

"...It would be more dangerous if you saw him now..." Len said, "...He has enough trouble tolerating murderous impulses for one person...Two would be too much for him..."

"Understood. Does he become more tolerate over time?" He asked as he looked over at her in confusion. "Hm...wait. If he is 'human' but has special blood in him that makes him not human...would he not seek to destroy himself since he seeks to kill non-humans?"

"...Shiki is human..." Len said, "...He carries the blood of the Nanaya clan, who are a clan of nonhuman killers...It is such a powerful skill that it is passed down from generation to generation..." Often through incestuous means, but she wasn't about to speak about that, "...He can not adapt very quickly to a nonhuman's presence..." That could also mean that he was capable of adapting. Len was hoping Shane could read between the lines in that regard.

"Understood. Your hoping he is able to wane to one before another comes. But the Nanaya's don't sound human...or if they are they have a strange genetic defect....the whole non-human killing machine confuses me." Shane admitted.

"...It was what they did for centuries...They assassinated many of those who had a concentration of demon blood in their veins...Master himself had killed many Vampires...I am unsure of what a 'genetic defect' is, but they have kept the same killing desire for many, many years..." Len said. She was using the past tense to describe the clan, indicating that they were not in existence anymore.

Shane nodded and said, "Well basically from what you said...I can establish that it became a hidden trait to be able to be effective against those that are not human. However, because of the way human blood works...unless mixed with demon blood...the powers you described earlier are impossible...such powers would rip apart the body of a human...which means by logic and genetics that your master has to be part demon...to have such powers." Shane shook his head, "Confusing as hell...but your master logically has to be either a genetic freak...but if this is common in his family then it has to be demon blood..."

Len fell silent to consider this information. His logic was not flawed. It could be a trait enhanced by demon blood, but there is no demonic aura about Shiki when he inverts. He's simply a human sociopath when he inverts, only with heightened senses and increased speed. And unlike the family he lives with now who has an obvious demonic ancestry, the Nanaya clan was closed in and the members of the family only bred with other Nanaya members. No new genes entered their gene pool for centuries. Just so they could empower the desire to kill nonhumans. And it was never guaranteed that the surviving children would even have the killing desire.
And her master had told her time and time again that he often feels torn up inside when he's inverted for longer periods of time.

Shane looked over at her and smiled, "Well...shall we get moving...or you want to see more of the town and talk?" He nodded to himself and looked around the town.
