Life for Ulozi had been a tough one. But it was only tough because he had made it that way. If he had never believed that everyone possessed magic or that this was a cruelty for him to live as a lion, his life might have been simpler. But it would have been a life that kept him close to home and away from Nitya. He never would have met her otherwise. Ulozi still believed in magic and believed his children could possess it, if only because they had his genes, not so much those of the females by which he had begot his offspring. Nitya had a no-nonsense policy for which he had come to appreciate her for. He had also come to terms with that she possessed no magic or hidden powers and only loved her more. Because it made her simply as how he saw her and nothing more that he could not define. His children were just cleverly taught not to express their powers in front of their mother or aunt as it would distraught them.
And so his life had transitioned into a peaceful one. Or as peaceful as the life of a selfish b*****d could be. As it was, he had just come back from a meeting with his son, Phooka, who had a promising ability but the rebelliousness not to want to use it. He was a boy with a grudging dislike for his father, something Ulozi did not appreciate at all. After all, he had sired the boy. The least he could do was show some respect. But as it was, Ulozi was perfectly content with his mate's two children, boys who had good physical traits of their mother among other things. So although their powers weren't remarkable, he loved them nonetheless. His eyes scanned the landscape. Where oh where could his beautiful mate be?

Nitya'dijana was happier than she had ever previously imagined herself to have been. Ulozi had blazed into her life, and when it was expected for him to blaze right on out... he was still here, helping her raise their two precious sons. Nitya firmly believed Ulozi to have been changed from his magic-seeking ways. She had seen no such behavior from him since the boys were born. He was normal... and the irony was that she wasn't. She knew she wasn't. The magic he had believed to be in her at one point was there, in the form of being able to see the future. It had only happened once, and that had been a month or so before her boys had been born. She had saw them, almost as old as they were now. Coming out of the womb, Nitya had already known what they looked like. She wouldn't tell Ulozi though, for fear of him returning to his old ways. It was her secret, and one she would keep until her dying day.
The boys were off playing with their half-siblings-half-cousins, which left her some much needed alone time. The young lioness went in search of her mate, and it did not take long for her to find him. She had a sixth sense about where he would be, and approaching him with a sweet smile, she greeted him with a purr as she nuzzled her cheek against his. "Hello," Nitya said as she pulled back and away from him. "The boys should be gone for the rest of the day. Let's do something together, while we have time alone. A little walk... to a stream or something. That sounds nice, doesn't it?"

She giggled - yes, giggled - when Ulozi playfully tugged on her ear. She felt his warm breath wash against her face, and that was definitely nice. She liked this childish side to him, as she liked so much more about him as well. Nitya could even easily dismiss the fact that he had believed in magic. Anyways, now she was given every reason to believe that he had been changed. Ulozi had become her lover, after some very interesting conflicts, and she would not change that for the world. Still, even now she was worried about what her sister thought of her. She loved her still dearly, but Nitya could not help but think she had somehow stolen a lion that could have been her sister's lover. Oh, there was no doubt that Ulozi loved her, and that she loved Ulozi in return. But, there was also no doubt that her sister had once had feelings for Ulozi. It was a complicated mess, and she realized that right now she didn't want to think about it. Instead she wanted to spend time with the man she loved and adored.
She purred her pleasure when he agreed to go on a walk with her. It was so rare that they got time alone together these days, with the boys still being dependent on her, and growing up to cause trouble. It was the worst possible time for Nitya to squeak in some pleasant alone time with her lover. But, she needed this. She needed Ulozi. She began to walk away, giving her lover a teasing grin as she rubbed up against his side. Yes, she was used to teasing him, and she found it to be great fun to watch the look on his face when she tempted and tormented him. It was a little game, but it was enough to make her laugh sweetly and enjoy the day even more.

She carefully considered the possibilities of what they could do this day, now that they had decided to unburden themselves with the load of their sons. It had been such a long time since she had the opportunity to enjoy free time such as this. Truthfully, she was content just being near Ulozi, feeling his warmth and hearing his deeper voice whisper a conversation to her. But, it seemed like that would be for another day, when they had their cubs nearby and had to at least pretend to be responsible. Today they could do whatever they pleased, and so reasonably it should be something that they don't get much opportunity to do. "Oh, something exquisitely evil! Something that would make my sister blush in perfect horror." They sounded like cubs, plotting the perfect prank to play on the 'grown ups'. Of course, perhaps they were a little too old to play such games, but it was nice to entertain the notion of it.
"I suppose, though, that it will unfortunately have to be something more tame," she sighed softly and melodramtically to herself.
