He didn't usually enjoy hanging out in.. deserty areas. Perhaps it was his history; the damn firekin. He was one, of course. and it was thanks to them that he was.. this big, probably. If he'd been a normal lion, he wouldn't have been "this big". He'd have been a large.. normal lion. Now he was a large FIREKIN, which was probably as good as you got, for a mortal. Gods were pretty large.
Yes, he did mull over size a bit.
Ahali wasn't your typical brute, however. He was smarter than plenty, simply as a plus to his size. Downside? He was terribly impatient with STUPID things. IRRITATING things. And yet, he had fun being smarter than people. It was perhaps strange. He hated this stuff, and enjoyed it at the same time!
Conflicting.
Today, however, Ahali was just walking near the desert. He was an intimidating fellow, of course, but not too scary a target, perhaps, for a mischievious, pridal cub. After all, in prides, no matter how grumpy the characters, they never HURT the kid. They yelled at them, which usually made the kid.. enjoy it.
For now, he just kept on walking along the edge of the territory, not quite willing to alarm an entire pride all at once.

"Yes, exactly. A lion, not a toy, " He growled, turning to look at the kid once questioned. No, that wasn't exactly a lion either.. Hm, the male twitched his tailtip. It looked rather cheetah-like, perhaps. Lankier than a typical lion. But still.. rather in between. A hyrbrid? "You look like a cheeton, " Fortunately for him, he wasn't your typical dumb brute, and could easily put two and two together.
"And a brainless one, at that. " He twitched his tailtip idly. Ahali didn't exactly have a patience for cubs.

Taab puffed up proudly as the male reognized him as a cheeton. "Yeah I am! A proud and true Cheeton!" He said arrogantly. In his mind he was better then jsut a normal lion. He had cheetah blood and could run almost as fast as a cheetah, and also had a lions stamina, or rather, a lion juve's stamina. But either way, the small cheeton was just begging for trouble. "And I might be brainless.. I've never seen an actual brain, let alone my own... Do you even now if you have a brain? Have you ever seen your own? To make sure it's really there?"
"And I don't know about the toy thing... you do look rather pounce-able." taab commented, rpessing his luck with the larger lion. His mother was terrified of large lions like this male, but he had no idea why. This brute didn't seem like much of a threat, all he was doign was insulting him. there was no damage being done. Taab was beat up worse when laying with his brothers then bantering with this giant lion. "Oh, or maybe you could be a chew toy! I haven't tried chewing on you yet, so I don't know..."

Ooh, poor idiot cub. He lashed his tail out as the cub tried catching up with him, talking like he knew exactly what he was getting into. The tail-lash had been perhaps one last warning, and the cub blew it. It took a mere moment between the cub getting its teeth on the lions tail for a loud snarl to come from him, loud and startling for the unsuspecting, rumbling through the air as the lion spun around, a large paw connecting with the juveniles shoulder, throwing him to the side simply to get intercepted by the other, slammed into the ground rather violently.
"I warned you, kid... " Ahali growled, ears flat against his skull. "I'm not in your pride. I have no reason what soever.. to be nice to you. " He dug his claws into the boys shoulder. "Out here is the real life, punk. And no ones here tah help you. " The large male smirked, this was just a kid, but Ahali was not afraid of picking on them. He didn't find it cowardly either; he wasn't picking on cubs to prove how strong he was. He picked on cubs when they deserved it. This one sure as hell did.
With that, he grabbed the boys hind leg, lifting him with ease off the ground(this kid was still lighter than an antelope!) and swinging his head, let go to throw the boy a ways away, before bounding in his direction and lashing out at him with his front paws, claws unseathed.
He wouldn't kill the boy, no. He'd just teach him a little thing or two; bruise him up nice, perhaps scar him a little... Just to make his point come across. He'd let the kid run eventually, since he'd actually need Ahali to allow him. a juvenile was never as fast as an adult lion, not even a full-blood cheetah was.

Taab had been so shocked the male was actually attacking him, all he could do was squeal in pain and shock. As he felt the lion throw him to the ground and practically stomp on him, he struggled to get free, flailing his legs in a futile attempt to get free. Even if his pride heard his cries of pain, it would rtake too long for them to come save him, and by then, he might be dead, or half dead.
He then felt the liosn claws puncture is shoulder, he let out a loud sob at the pain hit him. He had never been swiped at, or felt claws actually pucture his flesh. Even when he spared woith his brothers and ther juves in the pride, they never broke the skin, or when they did, it wasn't with Taab, he always sparred "fairly" with no claws out.But this sure as hell was NOT sparring. This was getting the living s**t beaten put of him.
Taab then was lifted off the ground so easily by the large lion. He felt like a fragile feather in the string, bone crushing grip of the lion. He half expected to have smething bitten or snapped off, but instead he was flung off to hit the ground, and hit it hard. He gave a cry as his body made contact to the ground. He tried to stand but soont he lion was upon him once more, his claws extended. Again and again he felt the claws slash at his frail form. He was traped, he couldn't get away as he was thrown back onto the ground when eh tried to stand up.

He smiled at the boy's obvious surprised. Never been hurt, huh, bud? Don't worry, he'd give him enough for a lifetime. Ahali smiled as his claws came in contact with the juve again, though in the back of his mind he took note of the screams and yelps. He would break him quick; and get out. Ahali was strong, however, he was no idiot. A PRIDE lived here, and even he couldn't take on many other lions. Once the cub fell again, he forced him onto his feet, pushing him away a small distance before picing his target; The boy's right eye. That'd make sure he'd never forget his mistake. The lion stretched out his front paw, slashing it across the right side of the boy's face.
The slash would hit his eye; if not completely blind it, it'd definately make his vision rather.. bad on that particular eye. Ahali blew at the cub with his paws a few more times, though; one at the side of his head, simply for brute strength rather than contact with his claws, a nice slash on his lft shoulder and then, next time Taab hit the floor, Ahali'd jump on him, his right front paw smashing into his shoulder, simply to knock the air out of him. The male picked him up again, this time by the back of the neck and tossing him like a toy(though not quite as hard as last time), then moving to stop him from getting up. He was done.
"Shh, shhh.. " Ahali whispered, setting his paw to the boys head and lowering his own, though he felt a small needle-like sting on a few of his front paws. He was quite sure Taab had managed to n** at him once as well. The kids flailing had got him a few cub scratches, but they hardly did more than sting. "Remember, kid.. " He smirked. "Don't poke the beast and you won't get hurt, got that? I didn't do anything you didn't deserve. " He smiled, then released the boy, stepping back, looking around once, before down again.
"You got off easy, " He could have easily killed the boy. Taab got off with a few shoulder scars, a blind eye and.. a killer headache, no doubt. His rib cage would probably be sore for a while-- rather, his entire body would be. But no would was fatal if he got to his mother, who'd clean him up good, keep an infection at bay. His eye, however, wouldn't be the same.
With one last glance around. Ahali turned away from the desert and ran, kicking up sand to hide his scent and any blood that'd rubbed onto his paws.
"And don't forget, " The lion shouted. "I warned you. "

Taab felt dizzy as he was batted around,a nd though he felt the pain, he felt like he was on a string, floating and unable to move. He didn't regain control of his body again until he felt the lions paw on his head and he heard the lion speak to him. He was too battered to struggle, he simply gave a weak cry before he was tossed around again, and then his eye was hit. Red flooded the vision in his right eye until it went back and he couldn't see out of it. He tried to rub it with his paw and blink but it was no use. He was blind in that eye now.
Ahali beat him around a bit more and then ran off, yelling back at him. But he was right, he had warned Taab. The cheeton had brought this on himself. He coughed hard and slowlt pushed himself to his feet as the lion took off, hiding his scent by kicking up sand. But it didn't matter to Taab, the only thing he could smell was is own blood. He slowly stumbled up the sandy slope he had slid down earlier and made his way back to the pride, a trail of blood droplets marking his trail. He was so tired and his vision began to blur in his good eye. Then it all went black and he was face down in the sand on the shore of one of the oasises, the one he and is family by.
