I had an idea...I thought it might be cool to start a thread to collect prayers, if that makes sense. An online prayer book. We're all Catholic here, so we all know the basics like the Our Father and the Hail Mary; post your favorite prayers, or maybe a lesser-known prayer that you have.
The Irish Blessing May the road rise with you And the wind be always at your back And may the Lord hold you in the hollow of His hand
The Three O'Clock Prayer Lord Jesus, we gather in spirit at the foot of the Cross with your Mother and the disciple whom you loved. We ask your pardon for our sins which are the cause of your death. We thank you for remembering us in that hour of salvation and for giving us Mary as our Mother. Holy Virgin, take us under your protection and open us to the action of the Holy Spirit. St. John, obtain for us the grace of taking Mary into our life, as you did, and of assisting her in her mission. May the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places through the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Amen. Said by Marianists all over the world at 3:00 every day...I carry a copy of this one around with me in my wallet.

Bua ha ha! twisted Sounds good to me! (Please excuse the boxers... Gaia ate my avie's clothes, and won't let me equip anything. gonk )
St. Thomas Aquinas's prayer after communion:
I thank Thee, O holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God, Who hast deigned, not through any merits of mine, but out of the condescension of Thy goodness, to satisfy me a sinner, Thy unworthy servant, with the precious body and blood of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that this holy Communion be not a condemnation to punishment for me, but a saving plea unto forgiveness. May it be unto me the armor of faith and the shield of a good will. May it be the emptying out of my vices and the extintion of all lustful desiers; an increase of charity and patience, of humility and obedience, and of all virtues; a strong defense against the snares of all my enemies, visible and invisible; the perfect quieting of all my evil impulses of flesh and spirit, binding me firmly to Thee, the one true God;and a happy ending of my life. I pray too that Thou wouldst deign to bring me a sinner to that ineffable banquet, where Thou with Thy Son and the Holy Spirit, art to Thy saints true light, fulfillment of desires, eternal joy, unalloyed gladness, and perfect bliss. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
---
The following is a prayer in my prayer book to be said during the Mass:
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, Who, by the will of the Father, with the cooperation of the Holy Ghost, hast by Thy death given life to the world, deliver me by this, Thy most Sacred Body and Blood from all my sins and from every evil. Make me always cling to Thy commandments, and never permit me to be seperated from Thee. Who with the same God the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest, God, world without end. Amen.
---
I really love this one for after Communion too...
May Thy Body, O Lord, which I have eaten, and Thy Blood which I have drunk, cleave unto my very soul, and grant that no trace of sin be found in me, whom these pure and holy mysteries have renewed. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
---
And this one I also really love... Good to remind one where their heart ought to be... You might call it a pride killer. twisted I hardly know anyone who does NOT need to think about these propositions long and hard, including myself. sweatdrop
(Petitions of St. Augustine)
Lord Jesus, let me know myself; let me know You, and desire nothing else but you. Let me hate myself and love You, and do all things for Your sake. Let me humble myself and exalt You, and think of nothing else but you. Let me die to myself and live in You, and take whatever happens as coming from You. Let me forsake myself and walk after You, and ever desire to follow You. Let me flee from myself and turn to You, that so I may mreit to be defended by You. Let me fear for myself, let me fear You, and be among those who are chosen by You. Let me distrust myself and trust in You, and ever obey for the love of You. Let me cleave to nothing but You, and ever be poor for the sake of You. Look upon me that I may love You, call me that I may see You, and forever possess You for all eternity. Amen.

My favorite Novena is St. Therese's:
St. Therese, the little flower, please pick me a rose from the heavenly garden and send it to me with a message of love. Ask God to grant me the favor I thee implore and tell him I will love him each day more and more.(The above prayer, plus 5 Our Father's, 5 Hail Mary's, and 5 Glory be's must be said on 5 successive days, before 11 am. On the 5th day, the 5th set of prayers having been completed, offer one more set- 5 Our Father's, 5 Hail Mary's, 5 Glory be's)
One of my favorite prayers is the prayer of St. Gertrude the Great: Eternal father, I offer thee the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen

Two of my favorites are The Prayer of Generosity by St. Ignatiusof Loyola and The Prayer of Saint Francis.
The Prayer of Generosity
Dearest Lord, Teach me to be generous; Teach me to serve You as You deserve; To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not heed the wounds; To toil and not seek for rest; To labor and not as for reward, Save that of knowing that I do Your will. Amen.
The Prayer of Saint Francis
Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord.
And where there's doubt, true faith in you.
Make me a channel of your peace. Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness, only light; and where there's sadness, ever joy.
O Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console.
To be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
In giving that we receive; and in dying that we're born to eternal life. Amen.

Another of my favorite prayers is the Anima Christi.
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water for the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good jesus, hear me. Within Thly wounds hide me. Suffer me not be separated from Thee. From the malignant enemy, defend me. In the hour of my death, call me. And bid me to come to Thee. That with Thy saints I may Praise Thee, Forever and ever. Amen

I've always liked the Hail, Holy Queen:
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in the valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of they womb Jesus; O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

This was St. Francis of Assisi's favorite blessing. I sang it in Assisi with a traveling choir. If you'd like the song, IM me (spacecase307) or tell me your email. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. Amen. Prayer to Saint Michael St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits that prowl the earth, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. ...this prayer is very powerful. My boyfriend (Michael) taught it to me. I have prayed it in my darkest hours ever since, and it always brings me safely back to trust in God.

(I Just found this one!..=O.o= I think ill start praying it)
Prayer for Daily Neglects
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its sufferings and all its merits. First --- To expiate all the sins I have committed this day and during all my life. Gloria Patri. Second --- To purify the good I have done poorly this day and during all my life. Gloria Patri. Third --- To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and all my life. Gloria Patri.
A Poor Clare, who just died, appeared to her Abbess who was praying for her, and said to her: "I went straight to heaven, for, by means of this prayer, recited every evening, I paid all my debts."

Most of you probobly know this prayer: Now I lay me down to sleep; I pray the Lord my soul to keep; If I should die before I wake; I pray the lord my soul to take.
My mom changed it to pray before bed when I was little, because well, the dying part scares little kids. It was changed to this:
Now I lay me down to sleep; I pray the Lord my soul to keep; Keep me safe and warm tonight; Sleeping sound 'till morning's light; God bless my friends and family; And help the world live peacefully. God Bless: (here I entered names of my family, such as Mommy and Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, Grammie and Rosa, Val and Thad, My sister and Me,) Amen.
