The pups, oh the pups! Mafa's life had been all about her pups for the past few weeks. Now, she was currently fed up having to be around them, watching over them, feeding them, raising them. No more. At least, not for today. The tired female has roped Mabozi, her son from a previous mating to keep an eye on them. Mabozi was good hearted, but a total idiot, hopefully, they'd all still be there when she got back. She needed those pups, well, at least she needed the female. She was awful proud of her already.

As the alpha meandered around, rather aimlessly at that, she pondered how the rest of the pack was getting on. She'd been out of action for a while, taking care of this new brood. She hoped everything hadn't gone down the crapper while she'd been in her own little world. Mafa made a mental note to go stop in on some of her pack members, see what they had been up to, hopefully they'd been productive.

Gruffly, the massive female sighed, her head craning up to the sky as her cold, aqua eyes scan the clouds. The sun was rather high up in the sky, she didn't exactly want to go hunt in the heat of the day. Living in the graveyard, she'd come to be accustomed to cooler weather, and barely livable conditions. She'd be fine without eating for a little while longer. She'd have to go out eventually for the pups. This thought came with a grumble, as Mafa scowled. What a damn chore.

The heat beat off Shez’s back like whip lashes, and the more she focused on it the more it agitated her. Already burned from her trip to the desert, she was displeased to find that elsewhere the earth was not all that better. Not to mention- she’d failed on her mission to end the lives of those cubs that had escaped her. But it had been months now, and the brute decided that even if she had caught up with the little bitches, she’d never be able to take the both of them.
Someday. They’d better hope they never had their own kids. She snarled at the thought and grinded her teeth.

Pickings were slim, even though Shezerade rarely had good days. Her nose lifted to the air as her awkward body convulsed. Looking more like a male then a female- and even then, not a proper male, the black hyena was a bit of an eyesore. Too muscular to be fast, but too stocky to be all that strong. Her girth was often her greatest failing. Her mother had called her crocodile face as a child- she wished she could grow up to meet that name.

She scented the earth, shifting cautiously in thought. There was a scent on the air- and something far more pungent then a lion or prey beast. With a snort she rose her head, and took a few careful sweeps around her. She only hoped she’d not wound up on pack lands again. Last time she’d had a scruff she’d lost the end of her tail.

But packlands or not- it didn't take long to see the other hyena moving in the distance. A massive female and well fed- Shez's eyes darted about to see if the rest of the group was to be following.

As the alpha loped around, dragging her feet in a rather tired manner, light breeze fluttered by the dusty wasteland. Mafa's head perked instantly, as this breeze hadn't come alone. On it was carried the scent of another. At first, Mafa was intrigued, perhaps it was a pack member, but almost instantly, she could tell the scent was not one of her own. This was a stranger to her lands, it seemed.

Mafa's appearence immediately perked up. She stood up tall, picked up her paws higher, making herself look like quite a force to be reckoned with. Mafa let out a low growl as the other hyena spotted her, announcing her authority. She didn't slow as she advanced on the other, her cold eyes scanning the new hyena. This stranger was a rather formidable one, large and hulking, but Mafa held no fear or intimidation. As far as she thought, she was the only one that anyone had to be afraid of around here. Her expression stoic and her tone dead, Mafa adressed the other,

"Stumbled upon my lands, have you? Who are you? What business have you here?"
