Steven Hawkings Undakai Steven Hawkings I love them all. Monty Python is fun and joyful. Eric Idel speaks truthness in his galaxy song, and knows it well. Why? He created it of course. Yeah, I could tell, you have Monty Python plastered all over your playlist. They had some of the greatest skits ever...good ol times. Yes, like the Chess Shop or the Spanish Inquisition. I liked the Parrot one and the lessons in hiding one...and for as short as it was, the killer car had me and my bro rolling...one of those "OMGWTF" kinda moments that came out of nowhere...
I don't think I've seen the Chess shop one, but I agree, the Spanish Inquisition is a classic.

Monty Python is dead, and has been for a long tme. Not just that, but anyone who has seen the fall of Little britain and Snl, and witnessed the rise of The IT crowd, the office, and whitest kids you know will see where the new guard is heading, and it is in a decidedly more pythonesque direction than Snl or national lampoon could ever be.
The ting with monty python, de to its hit-or-miss nature, is that its bound to inspire funnymen forever, but dissapear in the minds of the masses. So yes, Monty Python's popularity will wane and never again wax, and the crews that remain faithful to the same formula ( stella, the hollow men) will always fail.
But those that can take the ridiculous nature of monty and give it mass appeal ( once again, WKUK, or the internet-based Derrick comedy) will thrive. Mark my words, just like comedy central brought stand-up back from the grave andrew dice clay put it in, the youtube era will be a new golden age for sketch comedy.
