Obelus was a clever creature. She prided herself on her intellect, her natural predatory abilities, her sugar-coated malice. She also prided herself on being able to appear your friend when her appearance was rather evil in appearance?

However, while she had a great deal of pride, she was also a coward, though she would never admit it aloud. It was for this reason that she spent so much time when she had first found her cave, digging the large hidden pit traps that surrounded the majority of her territory. It was why she learned about poisons that paralyzed you for hours on end and how to administer them through a salve.

She was not much of a fighter, not in her hooved form anyway and she didn't like giving her conscious mind over to that of her feral form who seemed to have a mind of its own entirely. Her feral form didn't care for cowardice, just the need to eat and to kill. The only similarity they shared (aside from appearance) was that they were artistic. Her feral form had once decorated a pine tree with the entrails of one of their victims, just because it looked prettier that way.

Today there was no change in routine. She had already hunted for the day and now was laying beside the remains of the young mare, who was hardly describable as an equine, since Obelus had mutilated her so. She chewed idly on a femur as she waited for something to happen, whether another would be so foolish as to fall into her traps or get close to her cave, or even for just the day to turn into night. One of things, she thought, would have to happen sooner or later.

Nash had wandered away from his mate for a little while to hunt for his own dinner, though he hadn't found very much yet. Sometimes, he could forage as well as the larger stallion - the bat part of him quite enjoying fruits and the like. But at other times, he did crave some kind of meat and honestly... Kinak was a little too big and noticeable to make hunting small animals very easy. So he had left the other napping in the sunlight to see if he could find himself some incautious creature or other.

He had no idea that he was getting close to territory that belonged to anyone. Though he knew he should be careful about such things, he was too wrapped up in trying to follow the faint scent of a rabbit at the moment. He was currently in his cat form, which was more suited to this type of stalking hunt. It was probably lucky for him that he was... as he was completely surprised when the ground suddenly fell out from under him.

With a startled hiss, he leapt for a tree at the edge of the pit that had appeared and managed to hook his front claws into the bark. Scrambling a little bit, he flailed around for a moment or two before getting his back claws hooked in as well and climbing up the tree. Panting slightly, he stood on a low branch and stared at the pit, nose wrinkled. Now that it was opened up, he could smell blood down there... this was a trap. A trap someone had made, to kill something. But why...?

Obelus had grown tired of waiting in her den, so she got to her hooves and walked out into the daylight, a look of distaste on her face as the sun glared down at her. By habit, she began to move towards the traps she had set to see if anything had fallen there recently. Sometimes leaves would shift and she would need to cover the tops again, sometimes she just liked looking at her works of art, since they had cost her so much time, but were so worth it to look at. Sometimes, rarely, something fell in there and died before she thought to check up on it. Usually these were the traps that were located further on the outreaches of her territory, areas where she had tired in making her traps and so made them less of a priority. Not as deep, but occasionally a familiar would die there from a broken bone. Maybe her next step should be adding spiked sticks to those traps, she thought. The scent of blood would always draw her close whenever she was hungry.

She was circling a fourth trap set, when she noticed that the top cover of another one nearby had fallen in on itself. She was coming up to investigate it, realizing she would have to go into the trap, clean up the bottom and make a new cover, when she scented him. Her ears perked forward and she inhaled deeply, before leaning her head backwards and spotting him near instantly.

"Hello, kin." She rumbled, her voice cautious. She had not seen another walker in an age and she had no idea, what with this one to be in feral form, what threat they possessed. Did they possess the paws of a purewalker in their equine form, or were they truly her kin as another cursedwalker? At any rate, she smiled at him, though she stood her ground. "What brings you here?"

Still perched on his new friend, the branch, Nash's ears perked at the sound of someone coming toward him. He opened his mouth to warn whoever it was about the trap, then abruptly shut it again. What the...? The Soquili he could see through the trees wore a pelt, like he did - but hers was much darker colored and looked like it was... a bear? She also didn't even blink at the trap, but instead spoke to him once she was close enough.

Kin? What? Nash's ears flicked back in confusion for a moment, then tilted forward toward her again. Wait... was this mare one of the skinwalkers that Savannah had been so afraid of at their first meeting? That is what she had called him, and he guessed the name made sense... what with the pelts and all. He was a bit nervous now, remembering also what she'd assumed about him wanting to kill her. The purpose of the pit now seemed a little clearer. Maybe.

"Erm. Hello," he finally replied, realizing she was staring at him while waiting. "I was just ... hunting. And I almost fell into that pit there," he motioned with a paw. He wasn't entirely sure how to proceed here. If she was one of these evil skinwalker things should he act evil too? Probably best to just... play things by ear.

"If these are your lands I can leave," he offered then, slowly climbing down the tree. When she made no move to attack him, he shifted back to his own more equine form - figuring if he needed to run, he'd probably be a little faster like that.
