Though Ostadar usually spent hours preening his feathers every morning, refusing to be seen in the open without the absolutely perfect mane, he had decided that given the current weather this was almost impossible. He hadn’t given up entirely, but certainly had cut down his time considerably. After all, one would hardly see the details of each feather beneath all these snowflakes anyway. So here he was, with less than perfect feathers, taking a stroll through the snowy weather.
He whistled a delightful tune as he sauntered forwards. If there was one thing Ostadar was, it was confident. True to his form, each step was less a step and more some sort of intricate swagger designed to bring as much attention to himself as possible. He made for an interesting visage, prancing through the snow as such, barely keeping an eye on his surroundings at all.

Ostadar was so caught up in his little song and prance that he became totally oblivious to his surroundings. In fact, he’d have paraded right past the mare, so hidden was she in the snow, had he not encountered a very unfortunately placed rock. A rock that he could not see. One second, he was walking. The next, he found the ground was rapidly approaching. He let out a startled yelp, crashing down to the ground, his face disappearing into a mound of snow.
Luckily, the landing was soft, so nothing was particularly hurt. Well. Except for his ego, assuming someone had seen him. No one had seen him… Right? He slowly raised his head, using his wings to prop himself back up, only to find himself staring right into the eyes of the mare. Oh. Crap. “Didn’t see the rock, either?” He offered, with a huge grin.
