Sumika developed her talents for Jiton early, mostly to gain revenge on a boy who was teasing her by breaking one of his toys - and using it to thump him in the gut. He was mean anyways, so it was worth it. Lacking a family name, due to being an orphan, she earned the nickname Sumika of the Iron Sand; though this wasn't entirely her idea, she was the one who forcefully propagated it until everyone else got on board the damn bandwagon. Outside of manifesting her abilities at an early age, and being exceptionally hyper, Sumika's life was otherwise normal. That she lacked parents never seemed to bother her, though she has express curiosity about them. For the most part her history is as boring and uneventful as any normal person who tosses around large piles of metal sand for fun. Sure, she fused some door hinges, and messed with some flasks, but who hasn't, am I right? There wasn't something super traumatic and she wasn't the best in her class, but she's done fine so far and that's all that matters.

Yes, I'm aware you need to be Chuunin to have a custom weapon, but the approval process has been taking months recently, so I'm posting this here to work through the approval process. Upon approval this weapon will then be store in my workbox thread until Kaneo achieves Chuunin and is allowed to use it, at which point it will be added to my profile and the approval post properly referenced.

Character: Kaneo Mugen
Link to profile: [ x ]

Weapon Name: Current
Weapon Type: Combo Daggers

Weapon Height: 7.5" / dagger
Weapon Weight: .25kg / dagger

Description: Kaneo's Current is actually a set of 8 daggers, balanced primarily with throwing in mind but still plenty capable as held weapons. Slender chakra steel constructions, the have no guard and are exceptionally light weight. Their surface is etched with an ornate design, which helps hide a unique seal on their surface.

Ability Summary:
Seal of Return: Each of the daggers in the Current set possesses a seal that allows them to return to the wielder's hand, which itself has a seal tattooed on the palm, at a cost of [5] Chakra.
Far and Wide: When used as Focus Points for the Kinmukugan, Current's daggers expand the relevant ranges of Focus Point based techniques by 2ft.
Hyper-Dynamic: When used with the Kinmukugan's Jet Stream technique, formless projectile attacks gain an extra mild boost to speed thanks to the weapon's unique design.

___B a s i c s
___You must learn these two before being able to use Puppets!

Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppetry Technique)
Rank E

Kugutsu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that allows a ninja to use a puppet to attack from afar. Using their body's energy, the ninja emits strings of chakra that run from their fingers to the puppet. These strings are visible to the naked eye unless concealed using a Stealth Node attachment or the Mysterious Manipulation Technique. Each usage of this technique generates a string on each finger needed to control the puppeteers currently deployed puppets, and must be used again to deploy or redeploy a new or disconnected puppet. Though puppets can stray far from their controller, they must be close in order to be affected by this technique. Once connected, puppets can travel anywhere within a topic, without requiring their user to move, within reason. For example, a puppet whose puppeteer is not pursuing a target cannot chase that target across a larger topic, like Lightning Country's Storm Mountains, without the user moving; but, would be able to effectively pursue a target across a smaller topic, like Water Country's Temple Hidden in Water, so long as the puppeteer remained aware of the puppet's location and positioning. However, it should also be noted that unless a target is specifically fleeing from a fight, that they should be considered within range of the puppets controlled by this technique.
• Puppets must be within 50ft of the user for chakra strings to be attached by this technique

Editor's Note: I changed this technique to simply need to be used once to connect all deployed puppets. At the moment, a Genin puppeteer couldn't even deploy their puppets to start a fight if facing an aggressive opponent who gets the first attack. [ One + Puppetry Technique x2 = 3 activations ] This disadvantage is not commensurate to the effectiveness of puppets within current guild systems. Added ranges and limitations to the end of the technique.

Kuchiyose Kugutsu: Ichi (One)
Rank E

A comprehensive sealing technique that must be learned before the user can learn any other puppet techniques. This imparts a unique puppetry based seal onto a scroll, featuring a octagonal central structure with spaces for four triangular formulas at four of its sides. Genin puppeteers will start with a scroll that contains a basic wooden dummy puppet, sealed with this method, and must learn it in order to retrieve their weapon. Purchased puppets that the user wishes to seal in a different scroll from that their puppet is delivered in, will need to use this technique to imprint the formula onto the new scroll. To summon their puppet, the user simply performs a string of handseals and expends a small amount of chakra. This technique is used for a single puppet, both in sealing and summoning, though other techniques for additional puppet summoning exist. If paired immediately with Puppetry Technique this technique does not consume a battle activation.

Editor's Note: Lowered the cost on this to E rank since it's presented as the most basic of basic and is essentially required use in a fight. This is Academy-level for a puppeteer, so it should be E rank. Added option for the technique to not consume a battle activation if used with Puppetry to further offset the disadvantage of puppeteers needing to use activations to even deploy their weapons. (Buki don't have to spend an activation to draw a sword, for example.) Rewrote flavor text to justify this as a Puppetry specific Fuuin not a nebulous summoning.

Manipulation of Chakra Device
Rank X | E Rank for Learning

Some of the most useful items in a puppeteer's arsenal often require one of the battlefield's most precious resources. Though mechanisms may be extremely complex, their cost is always drawn from the same source.

Editor's note: Added to clarify how chakra consuming devices function.

___A d v a n c e d
___You need to know the two above, before learning these!

Harigane Tachikiru (Forceful Severing of Wire)
Rank E

The user will quickly release their control over a puppet, causing their strings to disappear and allow them to maneuver more freely. Because it forces the user to release control of a puppet, it is typically only used for defensive dodging purposes. It should also be noted that this technique, as opposed to simply ending the use of Puppetry Technique, can be used to cut free specific puppets and imparts force in a direction of the puppeteer's choosing - hence the Forceful title - propelling the puppet about 10ft in said direction.

Animation Contract
Rank D

The user forms handsigns and presses their hand onto the surface of an inanimate object, placing a contract seal onto its surface. The seal imbues the object with a clone-like level of intelligence and an attacking ability equal to the user's base formless Puppetry rank. The object, however, is treated as the technique's rank [D] in speed and strength, and possesses no fortitude or reflex. Inanimate objects possess no chakra, can never receive Descriptive Rank bonuses, and cannot perform techniques of any kind beyond basic formless attacks. While strong when created by a skilled puppeteer, these constructs can easily be disabled by even the most novice of shinobi.

Editor's Note: Replacement for the Mokujin technique, theoretically strong on offense but very weak. More a distraction.

Fortify
Rank D
Mildly buff puppet strength and fortitude for N posts.

Shiirete Siru (Replenishing)
Rank D

While the user's puppet has been dismissed, they will perform a somewhat long string of handsigns, causing the corresponding puppet's ammunition to be refilled. In order for this technique to work, the user must have made a post preparing the scroll their puppet is stored in with relevant ammunition ahead of any conflict. Ammunition can be stored in small triangular seals around the main seal for each puppet on its storage scroll, and up to four resupply seals can be fit into the main formula. Learning this technique involves learning to create the sealing formula necessary for storage.
• Maximum of one puppet per usage.
• Maximum of 4 prepared uses per puppet
• Preparing a resupply requires the relevant ammo from the puppeteer's inventory [ Must be tracked on profile per puppet. ]
• The resupply process takes [1] post to complete before the puppet can be resummoned

Editor's Note: This technique essentially requires the user to spend 3 activations between resealing the puppet, resupplying the puppet, and resummoning the puppet, even under my revised summoning process for puppeteers. Under the old system it would have potentially cost a D rank shinobi 5 activations and even an expert 4. As such I see no reason for special ammo to be excluded from this process. To keep a puppet with one large mechanism, and strong but limited ammo, from abusing this system, however, I have added a total resupply limit, and required that the puppeteer individually account for the replacement ammunition for the purposes of this technique's setup.

Kugutsu: Shunshin no Jutsu [ Puppetry: Instant Movement Technique ]
Rank D

A rework of the Maruton version of Shunshin, this technique makes use of a puppeteer's chakra strings to counter their own inherent immobility. Instead of appearing and reappearing quickly, which would normally require the user to break their strings, the puppeteer combines a transformation similar to Raikou Henge no Jutsu with their movement to transport them along the path of their strings. Inherently less mobile than its source technique, Kugutsu: Shunshin no Jutsu is primarily meant for quick escapes and rewards puppeteers who consider the entirety of a battlefield and positioning of all their puppets.
• Does no break chakra strings when used

Editor's Note: Rewrote the flavor text for this and added note that this does not break chakra strings. Please add a note to other shunshin techniques that they will inherently break chakra strings or add the following to the puppetry System post:

Puppetry and Body Flicker
While a puppeteer might find Body Flicker, or Shunshin, techniques quite useful it should be noted that using them will inherently break the user's chakra strings. Have no fear though, because puppeteers have been provided with their own version of the technique that, while slightly less mobile, will allow them to maintain control off their puppets.

Gyakukuchiyose Kugutsu (Unsummoning)
Rank C

Although the puppet can be dismissed at any time, it normally requires a short intermission, making it impractical for saving a puppet from harms way or for resupplying it in the middle of a fight. This technique allows the user to reseal a single puppet after performing a set of handsigns.
• Maximum of one puppet per usage.

Editor's Note: Added some flavor text to suggest a ideal usage for this technique.

Some kind of C Rank chakra string attack

Kuchiyose Kugutsu: Ni (Two)
Rank C

The user mimics the handsigns performed for the activation of One, but applies a larger amount of chakra upon activation. As a result, the user is able to summon [3] puppets in the time it once took to summon one. Like its predecessor, Ni does not consume a battle activation when paired with the Puppetry Technique, but with a caveat. If a human puppet is among the puppets summoned by this technique, it consumes an activation in the same manner as any other technique would.
• Maximum of three puppets per usage.
• Summoning a human puppet using this technique causes it to consume an activation regardless of the use of Puppetry Technique

Editor's Note: Added that this technique may be used to summon non-human puppets without using an activation so long as it's paired immediately with Puppetry Technique. Since the San technique will not be changing aside from a grammatical flavor text overhaul, I think the changes to Ichi and Ni strike a good balance. This should allow puppeteers to bring less powerful weapons to the field efficiently enough, and in large enough quantity, to be competitive with other classes, while not allowing them to dump the extremely powerful human puppets on enemies in large quantities. The techniques also give the puppeteer a trade off to consider. Deploy any puppet with a technique that is less long-term energy and activation efficient, but great in those categories in the short term, in Ichi. Very activation efficiently deploy a limited set of puppets with Ni. Or deploy all of their puppets for less overall chakra, but the guarantee of higher activation usage, with San.

Kikou Junpuu (Light Shield Seal Mechanism)
Rank X | Trained as B

Kikou Junpuu is a Ninjutsu technique used by puppet masters, coupled with attachments made specifically for this method. This shield is created when chakra is emitted in the form of a disk from panels which fan out from locations on the puppet. This chakra can be applied in any amount the user wishes, but requires the relevant attachments and their successful deployment. The size of the shield is also dependent upon the size of the puppet and the location and quantity of emitters. If a puppet possesses four emitters, the maximum number of attachments for a custom puppet, its shield will subsequently encompass the whole puppet. Three emitters will leave a sizable opening exposed, two emitters the entire opposite side of the puppet, and one all but a 3ft round area near the disk.

Editors Note: Will require the addition of Chakra Emitter accessory to puppet shops.

Chakra Emitter
A small circular array of 5 panels, coated in a shiny hex-patterned material, that normally lie flat against the surface of a puppet. When deployed, the array pops up slightly in the center, allowing it to disperse the puppeteer's chakra, or chakra from a scroll in the puppet, into a disk shape over the portion of the puppet that it is attached to.

Kuchiyose Kugutsu: San (Three)
Rank B

As they would with Ichi or Ni, the user forms handseals and adds even more chakra. This allows them to summon up to ten puppets to the battlefield. Due to the sheer scope of this technique, it does not gain any reduction in activation cost based on the type of puppets being summoned.
• Maximum of ten puppets per usage.

Sōen: Hitomi Gokū [ Puppet Performance: Skillful Achievement with a Human Body ]
Rank A

A puppet performance technique where chakra threads are attached to various spots on a person's body; the head, torso, both arms, and both legs. The person being manipulated gains the ability to not only use their own techniques, but the skills of the puppeteer as well. Using the principals of the Puppetry Technique the puppeteer creates unique chakra strings geared towards biological interaction. If used offensively (without permission), the target can merely expend more chakra or stamina than was used to initiate this technique, to pop the threads off of them. If used on a willing participant, the ability of the puppeteer is transferred to the participant, providing a heavy descriptive rank boost to all stats. These boosts apply beyond the standard cap so long as the puppeteer's base formless rank is at least equal to the highest formless rank the puppeted RPC can achieve. [ Essentially only a Kage can buff a Kage past their normal cap with this technique and so forth and so on down the ranks. ] The participant, however, must abide by the will of the puppeteer or lose said buff until relinquishing control of their body again. Using techniques or formless via the puppeted RPC will expend that RPC's activations instead of the puppeteer's. Puppeteers cannot use techniques the puppeted RPC knows, but can employ the puppeted RPC's formless physical actions and attacks. Forcefully puppeted RPCs take a one rank hit to their formless actions and a slight decrease to the technique's overall buff.

Editor's Note: Changed buff to an actually functional Descriptive Rank alteration, made the buff commensurate with the technique's effects. Also clarified and added some limitations on use for this technique. Removed it from being listed as Null so that it can be used offensively (anyone can break Puppetry Technique making it useless as a basea) and cause the tech to incur costs relative to its new buffs. Changed activation management to make the technique actually usable, instead of just a terrible way to lower your activation totals.

Hitokugutsu no Jutsu (Human Puppet Technique)
Jounin Rank Required
Null Rank | A for training

After slaying or scavenging a fallen shinobi, the user is capable of creating a powerful from their body. The puppet crafted by this method retains certain abilities, dictated by the creator's ranking. It should also be noted that Human Puppets are considered [ Advanced Puppets ]. Human puppets must be confirmed just as custom puppets. (The custom puppet approval thread is where you report your scavenging.)
• You cannot make yourself a human puppet.
• You must get your human puppet approved [here].

Culled Techniques:

Harigane Hajiku (Wire Snap)
Rank C

Realizing the costs of using 'Sever Wire', this technique was developed to allow the user to connect to any available strings at an alarming rate. The user will simply bring forth chakra strings to their finger tips, aim at a puppet, and use a burst of chakra to connect to the target nearly in an instant.

Editor's Note: Culled for being functionally useless.

Hyakku Kugutsu Tamashibari [ Hundred Puppet Soul Binding ]
Rank: A

Official Description: After having their target destroy ninety-nine of their puppets with each puppet driving a "bolt" into the target, the destruction of the hundredth puppet allows the user to effectively take full control of a person's body in a similar manner to the Puppet Performance: Skillful Achievement with a Human Body technique without the person's cooperation.
Guild Description: See official description. Only requires that someone hit a puppet directly 100 times. Only by defeating the user can the target be released.

Editor's Note: Technique relies on the Red Secret technique, making it specific to a puppet set, and thus unfit for a general technique listing. Also lacks necessary depth to support its effect, and is not achievable via standard puppetry methods.

Harigane no Ken (Bladed Wire)
Rank A
After detaching a chakra string from a puppet, the user will lash out on their target as if the wire were a whip. Because it is formed from pure chakra, the wire is very difficult to physically cut and is as sharp as a sword.
• Chakra cutting/blocking techniques are effective against this.

Editor's Note: Culled because expense to function ratio is poor, can be replaced with more interesting techniques.

Mokujin Soujutsu (Wooden Men Manipulation Technique)
Rank E
Ninpou: Mokujin Soujutsu is a Ninjutsu technique used by the Ryuudouin clan. Using their vast army of wooden training men, the three brothers will place charms on the heads of the dummies. Because these men are "dumb" and only attack randomly, a target can easily defeat them with time. This technique allows specific men to become puppets to the clan members, and obey their will. This allows the puppets to better attack and defend themselves against their target.

Editor's Note: Technique is character referential and bloodline specific or extremely cost inefficient to deploy, thus has been removed. Its effects can be replicated elsewhere via other techniques and its cost is incongruous with its scale.

Kuro Higi Kiki Ni Hatsu (Black Secret Technique Crisis of Two Début)
Rank C
Kuro Higi Kiki Ni Hatsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. Using his Kuroari puppet, Kankurou will distract his opponent in some way, either by another ninja or possibly using Karasu. With the opponent distracted, Kuroari will move into position behind them. Kankurou will open the chest cavity and emit wire to ensnare his target. They will then be pulled into the chest cavity. Blades will then run through the chest cavity carving the unfortunate soul inside to pieces.

Editor's Note: Removed for being referential to a specific character and requiring a specific puppet.

Doku Kiri Jigoku • Baribari Hyaku Renpatsu (Poison Mist Hell • Hundred Continous Tears)
Rank C
Doku Kiri Jigoku • Baribari Hyaku Renpatsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. Kankurou will use this technique while doing his Kugutsu no Jutsu. This technique involves Kankurou using both Karasu and Kuroari. Kankurou will maneuver the two puppets around his target. He will then use Karasu to launch poison mist bombs at his target, enveloping them in the gas. Karasu and Kuroari will then launch a multitude of needles at the target.

Editor's Note: Removed for being referential to a specific character and requiring a specific puppet.

Senju Soubu (Thousand Hands Manipulation Military Art)
Rank C
Senju Soubu is a Ninjutsu technique used by puppet master Sasori. After summoning his Sandaime Kazekage puppet, Sasori will extend its multi-segmented arm. Each segment can expand to reveal a summoning seal, which summons a new arm. One arm is thus capable of summoning approximately six more arms, which can then summon even more arms. In total nearly one thousand arms will launch towards his opponent to overwhelm them. If he misses with a direct attack, the arms are also capable of releasing a poison mist.

Akahigi • Kiki Sankaku (Red Secret Technique • Machine Triangles)
Rank C
Akahigi • Kiki Sankaku is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. After bringing his Sasori puppet before him, Kankurou will remove Sasori's head and open his palm compartments to unleash a torrent of triangular blades. These blades will have explosive bombs attached, so upon reaching their designated target, they will explode.

Kuro Higi Sanshouuo [ Black Secret Technique Salamander ]
Rank B
Kuro Higi Sanshouuo is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. Using his Sasori puppet, Kankurou will go on the offense against his target, leading them to a spot above where his Sanshouuo puppet is hidden below ground. Sanshouuo will then burst from the ground with the hatch on its back open. The hatch will then quickly close to capture the target. In addition to capturing a target, the puppet can act to contain and dampen the blast from an explosion detonated inside. Captures and contains up to three people. The container is reinforced with Chakra, making it able to withstand up to B-Rank techniques. Requires a puppet with a container.

Kuro Higi Kiki Sanpatsu [ Black Secret Technique Mechanism Triple Shot ]
Rank B
Kuro Higi Kiki Sanpatsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. This jutsu is a larger scale version of Kuro Higi Kiki Ippatsu, as it makes use of a second Kuroari puppet. With the chest cavities of his two Kuroari puppets open, Kankurou or his comrades will maneuver his targets into his puppets through force or distraction. Once inside, the targets will be impaled by the limbs of Karasu or by the blades of Kankurou's comrades. Requires two Kuroari puppets. The container can hold up to five people and up to eight blades can be launched with this technique. The container can withstand blasts C-Rank and lower.

Mokujin Hitsugi (Wooden Men Coffin)
Rank B
Requirement: Mokujin
Ninpou: Mokujin Hitsugi is a Ninjutsu technique used by the Ryuudouin clan. Using their vast army of wooden training men, the three brothers place more advanced charms on the heads of the dummies which allow them to attack a specific target. When the target is sufficiently surrounded, the clan members will break the wooden men down into their base parts and then combine them into long rows. These rows stack and combine to surround their target and isolate them from the outside world. The wooden parts are be imbued with the clan member's chakra and be greatly strengthened as a result. If enough power is placed against the structure however, it can come crashing apart, sending pieces of puppets flying through the air.

Kairai Engeki • Kuro Higi Kiki Ippatsu (Puppet Theater • Black Secret Technique Dual Mechanism One Shot)
Rank B
Kairai Engeki • Kuro Higi Kiki Ippatsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Sand ninja Kankurou. Kankurou will use this technique while doing his Kugutsu no Jutsu. This technique involves Kankurou's second puppet Kuroari acting in conjunction with Karasu. Kuroari acts as a defensive puppet, capturing Kankurou's opponents. Kankurou will use Karasu to manuever his target unknowingly into Kuroari's opened chest. Once inside it will immediately close to prevent their escape. Acting quickly, Kankurou will break apart the limbs of Karasu, with each limb popping out a deadly poisoned knife point. These limbs will then jab into the slots of Kuroari, puncturing and killing the opponent trapped inside.

Sanbou Kyuukai (Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction)
Rank A
Sanbou Kyuukai is a Ninjutsu technique used by three of puppet master Chiyo's Chikamatsu puppets of the White Army. The puppets come together to form a pyramid. After forming a hand seal, a great suction will draw in all the surrounding targets to the area between their bodies. Once the materials being sucked in reach this area they are broken down into nothingness by the swirling vortex. The opposing jutsu is listed in the Fuuin list, & performs the exact opposite of this jutsu. This jutsu is classified as 'Fuuin', instead of 'Maruton'.

Shishi Heikou (Lion Closing Roar)
Rank A
Fuuinjutsu • Shishi Heikou is created by one of the ten Chikamatsu puppets of the White Army. This seal prevents the one sealed from manipulating chakra. There are two methods for this seal.
In the first, the puppet will expel a hazy orb from its mouth which can be thrown. While flying through the air, the orb will lose it's haze and grow in size to a huge gaping beast-like head. The large teeth can grab ahold of the person it hits and pin them to a wall. Once the it impacts the wall, it will immediately release the seal onto the surface.

Chakura no Akai Himo (Red Chakra Strings)
Rank S
A very difficult to maintain technique used in cooperation with 'The Red Army' summoning. The user will emit ten strings from each finger, allowing control over one hundred puppets. This action occurs almost in an instant, allowing each puppet to be ready for use rather quickly.
• Does not need to be used with the [ Red Secret Technique ].
• If used with the [ Red Secret Technique ], this does not require chakra to perform.

Hyakki no Souen (Red Secret Technique)
Rank S
Allows the user to summon the puppet sect known as "The Red Army". It should be noted that upon summoning the user will in fact have to apply chakra strings to each puppet.
• Must be of Konin rank.
• Does not receive reduction benefits while learning.
• Additional notes and abilities below.

Jiiki Chikamatsu no Shuu (White Secret Technique)
Rank S
Allows the user to summon the puppet sect known as 'The White Army'. It should be noted that upon summoning, the user does not need to attach strings to the puppets as they are applied along with the summoning.
• Must be of Konin rank.
• Does not receive reduction benefits while learning.
• Additional notes and abilities below.

Editor's Note: Removed for being referential to a specific character and requiring a specific puppet.

___S y s t e m
Puppetry is a more complex and challenging art than most ninjutsu in the world, and because of this, a set of rules has been created to help everyone understand how puppets operate in Shinobi Nations.

___U s a g e
In addition to a puppeteer, a puppet also needs chakra threads, weapons, and adjustments before it can be properly used in battle. Once a puppet is active, chakra is required to perform actions.
___○ All actions that make use of the Puppetry formless style require chakra to perform instead of the traditional stamina. ( Ranked Attacking, Defending, Dodging, Using an Enhanced Launcher, etc )
___○ Attachments that require chakra for a puppet, such as a launcher that applies elemental effects, should have their chakra costs declared at submission.
___○ Attacking or defending with unmodified motion or Standard launchers and not applying your Puppetry formless does not require chakra. ( Punching, Sword slashing, etc. )

Editor's Notes: Changed this to use the Puppetry formless as it should. Costs for formless paid in chakra, unlike tradional weapons. Puppet resource usage changed to reflect its status as a self-contained weapon, so no cost for using launchers that just launch a kunai or nets, so long as they are of the Standard Launcher Class which will be detailed in the Custom Puppets, Items, and Tools revamp.

___S t r i n g s
Chakra threads, or simply "strings", are needed to control puppets. After learning the appropriate technique, the puppeteer is able to conjure these strings from their finger tips- A single handful of strings costing [5] chakra to manifest. These strings can stretch to most any distance, are durable, and unless masked by some technique, always visible. They are the most important thing to a puppeteer... r-right after their puppets, of course.

___L i m i t s
The number of puppets a single ninja can use at any given rank. Rather than being listed as a single number, this area shows how many hands / fingers are needed to operate a single puppet. As the ninja levels up, he or she is able to use less fingers to maneuver their puppet, and is thusly able to control more puppets.
___○ Genin: 1 hand for movement ▬ 1 hand for action.
___○ Chuunin: 2 fingers for movement ▬ 3 fingers for action.
___○ Jounin: 1 finger for movement ▬ 1 finger for action.
___○ Konin: 1 finger for movement and action.

While a puppeteer might find Body Flicker, or Shunshin, techniques quite useful it should be noted that using them will inherently break the user's chakra strings. Have no fear though, because puppeteers have been provided with their own version of the technique that, while slightly less mobile, will allow them to maintain control of their puppets.

Editor's Note: Added the changes to Shunshin here. Otherwise the same.

___S e t u p
After the materials needed to construct a puppet have been gathered, one still has to get it put together. Although you personally do not have to do this, it is urged you do so, as to get to know your puppet inside and out. Although this process takes time, as one grows as a puppeteer, setting puppets up becomes simple routine. ( If a puppet is altered, it must be set back up, to make sure it still works. However, altered puppets require only a post per alteration, up to the user's rank requirements listed below. Additionally, pre-constructed puppets do not require setup, but typically cost ryo. )
___○ Genin: 5 posts to setup.
___○ Chuunin: 4 posts to setup.
___○ Jounin: 3 posts to setup.

Editor's Note: Added a slight tweak to setup to avoid burying people under posting after making changes with the new Standard and Enhanced attachment systems.

___A m m u n i t i o n
The weaponry held by a puppet is the main source of its lethality. Without weapons, a ninja puppet becomes a simple theatre puppet. The ammunition used by a puppet, such as kunai, senbon, or shuriken, are easily replaced or exchanged- as the standard launcher installed in most every puppet is capable of holding such basic projectiles. The obvious problem with this is that you must actually have such projectiles to refill your puppet. The most simplistic way to obtain such weaponry is from Takumi, the Village of Artisans.

___T r a i n i n g
As with most ninja tools, puppets need to "broken in", or simply put, the user has to become accustomed to them. This number varies depending on the puppeteer's rank, because the puppet has to prove that it is viable for different levels of combat. Unfortunately, this is a rather draining process that must be performed on each individual puppet. On the bright side, it forces a ninja to think hard about the puppets he or she wants to bring into battle. Additionally, if a puppeteer never changes a puppet, it is much easier to bring to their own level. ( A genin has the lowest training requirement, because their puppet has the lowest standard of battle use. A sannin has the highest training requirement, because their puppet has the highest. || If a puppet controlled by a genin is kept when he or she becomes a chuunin, he or she only needs to give 1 post to bring it to chuunin level. )
___○ Genin: 2 posts for new puppets.
___○ Chuunin: 3 posts for new puppets ▬ 1 post for old puppets.
___○ Jounin: 4 posts for new puppets ▬ 1 post for old puppets.
___○ Konin: 5 posts for new puppets ▬ 1 post for old puppets.
___○ Sannin: 6 posts for new puppets ▬ 1 post for old puppets.

Hiroki had a little more respect for the Aburame. They had pride, and stupid mannerisms, but at least they didn't openly look down on other people as much as the Hyuga. He, of course, still besmirched their tradition by abandoning the Aburame surname, but he at least didn't mentally dump on all of their abilities.[ Post 1/5] For example, the ability to host and control insects. For that though, he required the hosting technique he was working on right now. To say that the sensation of the start of the process was unpleasant would be an understatement.[ Post 2/5] That said, it was at least somewhat manageable. And fairly straightforward, he simply needed to feed chakra to his insects long enough for them to form a colony. After which, he was pretty much set for life.[ Post 3/5] Lower cost than the Byakugan, longer lasting. Together the two sets of abilities would combo together in a way neither clan could have imagined. And all he had to do was sit and endure.[ Post 4/5] A small price to pay that seemed ever smaller as the unpleasantness faded. No doubt he'd find a use for this with all the trouble he got into. For now though, his insects rested. All two thousand of them.[ Post 5/5]
[ Destruction Bug Host Technique | Rank B ]

[ Post 1/2][ Post 2/2]
[ Destruction Bug Host Contract Seal | Rank X (D) ]

Hiroki examined the next technique with skepticism. It was odd that he was given a technique he didn't really need to use. His bugs, instead, would take the lead on this one, forming the cocoon he'd hide or seal people in. Pretty straight forward.[ Post 1/1]
[ Human Cocoon Technique | Rank E ]

The next technique was similarly straightforward. It allowed him to basically see through the eyes of his insects, communing with them to gather info. Nothing he wasn't accustomed to already, given his Byakugan. [ Post 1/1]
[ Insect Spying Technique | Rank E ]

And finally a technique that required him to do something himself. In this case, Hiroki sent out some bugs in the area around him. Supposedly this technique would allow him to call all of them back easily, even those further away.[ Post 1/2] As expected they indeed returned to him, crawling back into their fleshy hive. They also gave him a pretty solid idea of his surroundings, like that there was a bird sitting directly over his head. Good to know, considering everything.[ Post 2/2]
[ Secret Technique: Insect Gathering | Rank D ]

The insect clone technique was as simple as all the rest Hiroki had managed recently. He'd studied clone techniques before, there wasn't much different here except composition. The hardest part was direction of the insects, but that would only come easier with time.[ Post 1/2] Speaking of which, the bugs worked fast. Within moments there was a fairly perfect copy of the uppity mutt sitting on the ground next to him. The man practiced mirroring movements and then dismissed it just as rapidly, perfectly happy with the result.[ Post 2/2]
[ Insect Clone Technique | Rank D ]

The next technique was easily going to be the most useful as a rogue. While tracking would help make money, this would help them keep it. In essence, it was a jamming signal, one that would disrupt anyone attempting to sense their way into a payday at his expense.[ Post 1/2] Ideally this would be used against a proper sensor ninja. That said, it should disrupt anything that tracked chakra, even his Byakugan. He filed away a mental note about that for if he ever ran across an proper Aburame in a fight.[ Post 2/2]
[ Insect Jamming Technique | Rank X (D) ]

Insect Wall was the next up, a defensive technique. It was most likely to serve an ancillary role in his arsenal. That didn't mean it wasn't valuable though.[ Post 1/3] His bugs, in proper numbers, would lift well above their weight class. Stop techniques that were significantly stronger than the jutsu that commanded them.[ Post 2/3] This was why Hiroki set about studying the most complex version of the technique. Even if he didn't quite have the chakra pool to use it effectively. Better to go big than go home in a body bag, not that he had a place to go home too, mind you.[ Post 3/3]
[ Insect Wall Technique | Rank C ]

Insect Cocoon was one Hiroki would exclusively study from his scroll. In fact, most were, to be honest. He didn't want to draw unnecessary attention by sending a swarm of bugs through the street.[ Post 1/3] This technique would allow him to rest more effectively, provided he was only interested in recuperating his insects. He scoffed at the twice as fast figure, though. It seemed a bit overreaching in its estimation.[ Post 2/3] It was too damn neat, honestly. How could anyone reasonably determine that? The amount of time it took those insects to grow would be immediately changed once removed from the host's body, by any method.[ Post 3/3]
[ Secret Technique: Insect Cocoon | Rank C ]

Ah, yet another defensive technique. Hiroki supposed that was at least, in a small way, prudent even if slightly redundant. There wasn't really a reason to have another, but if it let the insects do their work while the host focused on something else it was still useful.[ Post 1/3] In this case, the bugs would form a relatively straightforward dome. He immediately noticed some similarity in descriptors.
How strange that he'd end up with something almost identical to Heavenly Spin in his pocket.[ Post 2/3] He honestly couldn't say he was expecting to run across this. It sacrificed something though, that made him consider its useful[ Post 3/3]
[ Insect Jar Technique | Rank C ]

Hiroki had to admit a big of confusion at the initial description of the next technique on the scroll. It described itself as a counter, but he honestly could see where that element came into play. Of course, this confusion didn't last too terribly long. [ Post 1/3][ Post 2/3][ Post 3/3]
[ Spindle Formation | Rank C ]

[ Post 1/5][ Post 2/5][ Post 3/5][ Post 4/5][ Post 5/5]
[ Destruction Bug Drill | Rank B ]
