User ImageElune laid across the grass underneath a great oak. A gentle spring breeze rustled through the leaves. Flecks of fairy dust glistened off her wings, as the light danced across her with the movement of the foliage above her. Contentedly, she watched on as her precious daughter, the gift of life from the spirits, played with the brown leaves on the ground. The leaves of yesterday, made a crunch sound that delighted the little usdia filly. Elune watched her every movement, storing the memory as it traveled through her mind. It is important to remember everything when they are this young. The spirits only give them to us at this age, for but a short time.

How did she end up with the energetic little usdia? Elune touched the heart of a wishing star, by wishing for another child with the a beautiful song. The spirits then blessed her with this precious life before her. It meant a great deal to Elune, that the spirits chose her to be the mother of an usdia child. To her, it had special meaning. A rare thing to have a wishing star wish come true. Even more rare that she would get a delightful treasure like Sindi. Her size may be small, but the place in Elunes heart she held, was exponential.

Elune called out to her. "Please, child of mine. Beware the roots of the tree." The roots of the tree were great, large, and served to nourish the gentle giant behind her. However, Sindi could trip on them, even though they meant her no harm.

User ImageSindi stuck her rump high in the air, crouching down while focusing hard on a spot a few feet away. The wings on her hind in fluttered, as she wiggled her rump. Holding still one moment, then wiggling again. After a moment, she darted at a small pile of leaves, and proceeded to run over them a few times. Rustle, rustle, rustle. went the leaves, each time she stomped over them. She stopped for a moment, looked around, then ran back across them!

Right as her mom called out to be mindful of the roots, she did in fact almost trip over one. Her mom was good. It's like she knew she would fall. Sindi shrugged, then went back to playing.

Sindi didn't really notice that she was different from her family. Perhaps it was her young age, or maybe something more than that. It just didn't seem to effect her. Youth are resilient. And Sindi was especially so! Even when her much older, much bigger brother teased her, she shrugged it off and kept going.

User ImageThe forest shade was cool, and crisp. Mystic Lyric stepped through the forest, taking care to watch where she was going. Sometimes she had a bad habit of looking down at the ground while walking. It assured she never stepped where she didn't intend to step. Flying was much different, but the trees were unforgiving when it came to flying. They would snag your wings, and you could seriously hurt yourself. This trail was one she had been down many times. Visiting family was important. Today she was heading to see her grandmother, and babysit her aunt. Such a peculiar thing to think about. Sindi was an aunt, a few years before she was even born! A small aunt at that.

Normally Lyric would sing as she moved through the forest. Today however, she was slightly nervous about having a foal to take care of on her own. She didn't have foals yet. Slightly intimidated by the idea of being responsible for something so small. How hard could it be?

Nearing the great oak where her mother spent much of her time, she took a deep breath, and put a smile on her face. Piece of cake. she told herself, trying to convince herself that she could do this, no problem.

Walking behind a last tree, and she was there. "Helloooooo."

User ImageElune heard the sound of someone approaching. She moved her eyes around, as she focused on the sound. The light hoof-fall sounded like her mysterious grand-daughter. Her walk was very precise, but not silent.

When she was within eyesight, Elune met her eyes with her own. Those were her eyes, reflected back at her, and back again, as she looked down to Sindi.

The sound of someone elses voice made Sindi jump a foot off the ground! She yelped out. Sindi rushed to Elune as fast as those little legs would go. Head first, she buried herself into her mothers folded arms, and up against her chest. Sindi had not learned yet, to listen to the forest around her, and never heard Mystic coming.

Elune smiled. Putting an arm around her daughter, and holding her close to her chest. "You are safe, my child." she comforted her, with a gentle voice. "Look now. See who comes to visit."

Sindi relaxed at the sound of her mothers voice, and looked behind her to see her niece, Lyric. The face of fear turned into a grump frown. Popping out of her mothers arms, and wriggling free, she stood tall. "I wasn't scared." she called up to Lyric.

User ImageLyric felt bad for a moment, not meaning to startle her chibi-aunt-Sindi! She looked on with concern, and waited for Elune to speak with her. "Sorry pipsqueak." might not be a good start for foal sitting night. A simple "Sorry" would suffice. As she was about to apologize though, Sindi broke free from her mothers grasped, and stood as if challenging Lyric. She then stated she wasn't afraid! Lyric smirked and flared her nostrils. This kid was as spunky as that hair of hers. This night was going to be just fine.

"Of course not! You are much too brave to ever be scared." she played and tried to sound sincere. Foals ate that kind of stuff up.

User ImageSindi did puff up with the compliment. Yeah, she was pretty dang tough! She pushed her lips out at Lyric, and then giggled. "Yeah, I am brave." she said as she trotted over to Lyric. "Are you going to play with me? While mommy is gone? She said you would! We'll play games together!" she rambled on for a moment, excited to have a playmate. Sometimes it was lonely not having a sibling her age.

Elune had a chill come over her. She closed her eyes, and let it shake over her. The cool air didn't bother her, no. It was the pleasure she took in watching her family continue to grow together. It made her happy to see them get along so well. Not every family got along well.

Raising up from her place of relaxation, she decided she would go find Tokidoki, and leave the two to carry on their night together. "I shall not be far. Be fair to Mystic." she said to Sindi, as she kissed her gently between the eyes. "Mystic, guard my gift well, as if she was your own." she smiled at her. She knew Mystic Lyric had a slight aversion to foals of her own. Time can change any heart though. If she never decided to raise foals, that would be just fine. Elune had the wisdom to know that with age, most do end up raising their own foals though. She hoped Mystic would one day get to experience the joy she had for her young. With that, she watched them a moment more, and took her leave.

Nana had started her day without a clue of what to do. She had been wondering as far and as close to her home since she left the nest. With her glorious black velvet wings there was no way she couldn't go exploring. There was too much to see and too little time to see it. However, she travled alone a lot. Now, Nana was a shy lil purple potatoe. She grew up with a broher and sister. But that didn't seem to help her crawl out of her shell around strangers. It took her a bit of time, and a lot of soq didn't have that time. She was now becoming nostalgic missing her family. Missing a place she could be completely herself.... For the most part.

Nana had been lying under a large tree in the forest reminising. It was cool and quite. Two things she greatly appreciated. A slight breeze lightly shuffled her ariel red bangs. Looking to the direcition the wind was blowing, she realized something. Something magnificint at that. She was close to home. Close to the great oak tree her mom loved oh so much.

A light bulb went on in her head. And oh was it bright!

"I'M GOING HOME!!!" She shouted in her mind. She only ever shouted there. She was too soft spoken and shy to shout at anyone or thing.

Nana jjumped up! Her excitement made her loose focus. But all she had to do was follow the trees and sounds of the forest. They always led her home! Close enough to walk, Nana trotted along. "What a great idea!" She couldn't take the smile off her face. And before she knew it, she could hear something. Mumbling. Her ears twitched from the sound as she paused for a moment. Using her instincts she scanned the area, double checking her hoove steps. She was on the right track, it had to be her family!

Nana rushed through the branches and leaves and eagerly made her way through the greenery. Before she knew it, she was in a clearing. And before her, the great oak tree. "Mom?!" She said as loudly as her lil voice could let her. There was no sight of mom... Buuuut... She probably startled her family that was there.

"Oh.. Hey.." She tried to play it off cool.

Sindi was smiling up at Lyric, and got caught so off guard when Nana came dashing through the under brush! The little mini jumped with a high pitched scream, and bumped her butt back under Lyric's leg in a panic, eyes shut tight. As if seeing something dangerous would make it more well, dangerous! Being so small, things easily startled her. Not that she could control it! She was brave though! Just cautious, which was normal for her age.

After a moment, she heard a not-so-scary and familiar voice. One eye popped open and looked up towards her big sister Nana. She opened her other eye, and then marched out from under Lyric. "Hmpfh." she said with a little attitude. "I really wasn't scared!" she said with a hoof stomp. Twice in one day, didn't make for a very convincing argument though.

User ImageMystic Lyric didn't get startled by Nana bursting into scene. She was more taken back by the little wrecking ball between her legs! Lyric took care to balance herself as Sindi pushed hard up against her, almost knocking her down. "Slow down there little slugger! You are jumpy today!" she said as she pushed a hoof against Sindi to support her leaning.

"Hi Aunt Nana!" she said with a smile, but one that said she clearly had her hooves full! Nana was so quiet normally. She must of been eager to come visit Grandma-Elune. She had just missed her!

As Sindi marched out from under her legs, she grinned at her aunt. She couldn't laugh, or it would discourage her. Sometimes Sindi was just too cute though.

"Say hi to your sister!" she said, almost scolding her, but in a gentle way.

Sindi reached back, pretending to have an itch, and focused hard on scratching it with her face. Brush it off! Don't let them see you were actually terrified...

She cleared her throat, and then acted like she remembered her two bigger family members were there. Sindi sulked a little, as Lyric told her to be polite. "Hi Nana." she sauntered over to her, and nudged up against her leg. "Did you bring me any presents?" she beamed with innocence. Kids had a way of doing or saying things that sometimes weren't socially polite. Sindi was learning, but was stubborn, and had her own way of doing things.

User ImageHopefully Nana didn't have any plans. It would be nice to have her hang out, and make it easier to care for her mini-Aunt-Sindi. Though she was more like a little sister to be honest.

Lyric balked at the mention of presents. "Sindi! That's rude to ask someone! You should never expect presents." she said with a shake of her head and an eye roll.

Walking over to Nana, she hugged her with a wing, pulling her close. "It's so good to see you!" <3 "It's been too long. Are you taking care of yourself? You look great!" She really did love her family. Part of her felt bad for not seeing them all more often. It had been ages since she saw her own brother even. She should make more of an effort... Easier said than done though.

Nana's niece Mystic, and tiny little sister Sindi was in the place she thought her mother would be. Not what she had expected, but a nice surprise. She hadn't seen either in some time. She noticed she had startled her baby sister. Not her intention, 'I should definately be more aware.'

"Oh, you didn't seem scared at all!" Nana ended with a sentimental smile.

Now, Nana hadn't been around her sister much. Something she was starting to regret. Seeing her family made her feel warm. She didn't realize how much she had missed that feeling. And though her intention was to see her mother, who she thought of constantly. She would gladly stay and catch up with Mystic and Sindi!

Hugging her niece back with her wing. "You too, thank you." She looked Mystic up and down. She couldn't remember that last time she even saw her! "But look at you! Wow!"

Nana shifted her attention to her sister. She didin't have a gift, no. But not to even think about bringing her own mother anything. She felt inconsiderate. She had to think of something. Though, she didn't even know when or if her mother would even return. She began to feel as if she didn't think this visit through. Until a lightbulb went off. A smile emerged. And an idea was born.

"Oh, I'm sorry Sindi. I didn't even think of it." She bowed in apology.
"But I have a great idea!" enthusiasm radiating.

Looking around, scanning the area. There was plenty to see and find in these trees. Places unexplored. What a better place to go treasure hunting!

"I think I'm going to stay a while." She smirked. "Do you think you could help me find something pretty for momma? Maybe we can find something for you as well." Smiling with delight, she hoped they'd agree.

"Did she say when she'd be back?"
