Miniel flexed her wings experimentally. Lately she had taken to wandering around the lands while safely situated on the ground. It was strange for one such as herself who was full of pride on her flying skills to forcefully ground herself. The angeni mare was still puzzled by her actions but believed that it was the right thing to do. There was a void deep within that urged her to seek out companionship of any kind and long solo flights were non-conducive to that agenda. In other words ... Miniel needed friends. Too long had she flown higher than most others when the skies were fair in an attempt to not get drawn into the dance of life of death but being that far removed from the action below had taken its toll on the mare. She was missing out on the finer experiences that life had to offer.

Now she sought out any sort of pleasant company. It was an awkward thing when one was not used to introducing themselves to anyone that came across them on a daily basis. Miniel was beginning to doubt herself that she would ever make the correct impression on another individual. Life had been simpler it seemed up in the skies. The urge to return to merely being an observer was growing stronger every day in her mind. The urge would overwhelm Miniel and yet she would talk herself down into not giving in and flying away. There was a fierce determination to make things work out and this was the first of many life lessons that she needed to master. Hiding was not what was on her agenda. She needed to put herself out there on the “stage” so to speak. Only then could she begin to truly live.
