[PRP] Zootopia (Xavier/Helmut)

The bag was poking against his side. Xavier shifted back a little into his seat, tapping his clawed fingers anxiously together as he glanced sideways at Helmut. He readjusted his coat, then his shirt, crossed and uncrossed his legs, and finally toyed with one of his feathers simply for something to do with his hands.

His eyes had widened at Helmut's comments, however.

"That sounds awful," said Xavier in horror. "Humans aren't to - to be prayed to! They're horrible!"

Helmut nodded along solemnly, knowing full well that humans were terrible creatures. Exhibit A had been what happened to Xavier, her most favourite person (aside from her Parents, of course). If the goth-types really did what she was accusing them of, they were horrible creatures by association.

"Puppy!" She shrieked next, excitedly, her face once more against the glass, cheek pressed so close as she tried to watch the animal for as long as possible. It, too, eventually disappeared into the distance, but until it did, it had her rapt attention.

Xavier was not quick enough to see said puppy, but he at least he got to see Helmut excited - which, really, was pretty nice in and of itself. He watched her for a few moments, his expression shifting to one of affection -

- and then promptly shook his head hard, trying to dispel the stupid thoughts from his mind.

"I think our stop is s-soon," Xavier said, sometime later. "Are you ready?"

"Soon?" Helmut repeated, before gasping loudly, turning quickly as though she were shocked. She sat down properly, fixing her sweater dress around her knees, and pulling away the deer bag wall to hold it on her lap.

"Ready." She whispered seriously, scooting closer against his side. This was the buddy system after all, and she didn't want to lose him in this scarcely populated bus.
