Imperio rolled on his back, wiggling back and forth as he attempted to scratch the itch that had crept its way riiiiiggghhtt to the spot he could not reach. The soft, vibrant green grass glimmered in the morning sun and bits and pieces of broken grass flew into the air under Imperio's valiant battle against the persistent itch. He finally rolled back over, satisfied for the time being that the itch has be defeated for the near future. His back and sides glistened in a light sheen of sweat, resulting in clumps of dirt and grass splattered along his black and red coat. He huffed out a breath dramatically, attempting to blow his messy mane out of his eyes. He pouted when the hair simply flopped back down limply over his eyes. 'Boo to you,' he thought, giving the piece of hair the stink eye. 'Booooooo.'

Serafima had wondered a bit from her herd lands, just wanted to explore these new lands a little bit more. She wouldn't go far, and would be back before dark. While she wanted to explore, she also knew she had responsibilities as Heir. It really did limit her little daytime wanderings.

Most of the time, she was looking for new and interesting ingredient for her paint. Sometimes they were a. complete failure, and sometimes they had interesting results. Either way, it was something that she enjoyed. Something that was hers, apart from her sisters. Painting things the true color was just... her.

It was her belief, not shared by anyone she knew, but something she believed in strongly. After her punishment at the hands of their previous Queen's guards, back before they traveled here, for a few months she could only see the color red, and everything was red. It made picking out which of her sisters was wish kinda difficult, but by paying attention to the little details, she could figure it out. It became easy, after some practice, and was something that she still did, keen eyes focusing on every detail as through it was the only thing that mattered.

After the rest of the colors returned to her world, Sera became convinced that there was only one true color, and all the rest was illusion. So, she tried to return everything to their proper color. Red.

So, when Serafima wandered that morning, she spotted something new. Someone new, she supposed, but new was good. Entertaining. Sera laughed softly, a bit of a mad sound carried on the wind. She had her paintbrush balanced on her back, so she didn't have to carry it in her mouth, but she could easily reach back and grab it if she felt the urge to paint.

Though, she didn't actually feel the need to paint when she looked on the new someone she had stumbled upon. He looked like someone already had, actually. In tones of red and orange and gold. The pattern was quite lovely, even though he was rolling around in grass like a foal.

Serafima wandered out toward him, translucent paws crushing the grass to make noise, because she wanted too. Her tail waved back and forth behind her, seeming to unravel one second then become whole the next, only to unravel again. It wasn't really changing shape or form, it was simply illusion, like everything else.

"What is this I see? A bird-painted-boy playing in the grass." She giggled a bit, and tilted her head so that her wild mane was not in her aqua eyes, and so that she could see him clearing, noting all the little details from the colors of his markings to the way his hair seened to be annoying him.

Imperio perked up when he heard the grass crunch nearby, the satisfying crisp snaps of the spry young grass snapping under someone's weight. His head jerked up and looked frantically around, almost comically, his mane swishing to and fro with every movement. His eyes finally lit upon the strange mare that approach him and he jerked himself up and off the ground, oddly graceful especially in comparison to his earlier rolling about. "HELLO," he greeted, loud and uncaring as he bounded over to the stranger, an obvious extra pep in his step at the idea of meeting new friends. Bits of grass and dirt scattered around him as though a cloud, tangling into his dark coat and tail. Imperio continued on, heedless of the image he presented or the ugly clash of the green against his bright orange coat.

"Who are you?" he started babbling, excitement clear in his every movement. His hooves beat restlessly against the ground as he trotted a circle around the strange mare, unable to keep himself still for any moment of time. "I'm Imperio! Like Imp and Perio!" He nodded to himself as he spoke, his head bobbing up and down fast enough that he started to give himself a headache. "What's your---"

Imperio screeched to a halt, digging his hooves into the ground to abruptly stop his moment. His eyes widened in astonishment and he shuffled himself closer to the mare, blatantly ignoring any concept of personal space as he almost bumped his nose into hers. "Did you know," he finally asked, astonished, "that you have paws?!"

Serafima watched the stallion with unabashed amusement. He seemed so carefree, almost childlike in his innocence. Sera felt an answering pull to be just as playful, lips curling back over very sharp teeth in a grin. She let him circle her, because she didn't feel like she had anything to fear from the excitable soul, eyes tracking his movement anyway, just in case she was wrong. She was waiting him out, though, letting him ask as many questions as he liked. It would only be when he stopped talking that she would start. It was much more amusing that way. Anf it gav her time to admire the beauitful markings that looked as though they had been painted onto him. This close, though, she could tell the markings were like her stripes, part of him , and her mind sparked with wonder for something apparently so beautiful, creature by nature, but my a brush or a paw. Her homeland was full of wonderful colors and patterns, but nothing compared to this fire-bird painted stallion. She was definietely intrigued, wanted to get closer to the color, the bold orange, soft yellow, and devious red, when he did it for her.

The stallion put himself close to her, staring at her paws, which made her laugh, a purely delighted sound that had a trace of maddness in it, but mostly just happiness.

With a conspiratorial whisper, so he would have to lean in to hear her fully. "Did you know," She matched his tone perfectly, eyes bright with mischief, "that I can make them disappear?"

It was just about shifting the transparency in her tail and ears down to her feet, making them all vanish completely. She wouldn't keep it up for long, and it wasn't like they were really gone. The four paws were solid, bending the grass down under them. Still, it was impresssive, and she could do more than that, letting her tail 'unravel' again, she kept one foot invisible for a long moment, then in a blink that foot was back and another was 'gone'. She kept this up, lazily cycling through all her paws while she waited for his reaction with amusement. This was going to be a fine day. Even if she didn't start it out with tea like she normally did, this stallion was like the fire-bird painted on his hide, a bright light on an othrwise dreary day of hunting for more painting supplies. Sure, she probably had something to do back home, as Heir, she often did, but this was goingto be so much more fun.

Sera studied him, for his reaction, and the patterns on his hide, her ears twitching with the desire to paint it. Not on him, but on another surface. It was the first time she had wanted to paint anything in a color other than red in years. It made her eyes shine with banked excitement, plants running through her head as she made half-throught plans for pigmants and paints.
