The Dripping Staircase.
Why was Uller even here? He squinted hard at the disgusting place, the smell wafted over and caused his stomach to churn. It threatened to empty then and there and just swallowed again, sighing slowly. Shaking his head a bit, he put a hand to his nose and gagged as he started to walk away.
Honestly he couldn't stomach it for much longer. He shook his head and just pulled the collar of his jacket over his nose as he gagged again. Uller's cough echoed as he stepped outside, just under a light. The cool autumn breeze hit him and he pulled his jacket down and gasped so he could taste something other than sewer and filth. The smell lingered in his nose and in the air like a bad memory that refused to let go. It curled his nose hair and made his arm hair stand on end.
Beyond the light Uller couldn't see anything. Right at the light edge it was just pure blackness, much like his own eyes. It was odd and unsettling. It seemed he got himself into quite the pickle separating from his group. Why did he always have to walk away and find the most revolting places in Halloween? Ugh. His body shuddered hard as the wind whipped yet again, only this time his ears picked up the sound of rustling papers.
Interesting.
With a quick glance around, Uller spotted a magazine on the ground, discarded just at the light's edge to his left. Licking his lips nervously, the stag shuffled over similar to a crab shuffling along and reached down to snatch. As he bent down to get said magazine, Uller's pants made a strange, strange noise. That's when he realized they split right down the middle for no apparent reason. He yelped and cursed and just rolled his eyes. He would deal with it later. s**t, this day was getting worse and worse, wasn't it? He rubbed his face after a minute and just resigned himself to his fate. There was no getting out of this one, was there?
With the magazine firmly in hand, the white haired boil held it to his chest and scuttled back to the middle of the light before he glanced down to see what he'd risked his life for. Yes, he really did feel like he risked his life. You never knew what lurked in the dark. Normally he was a creature of the night, but back home, the moon, even a sliver of it, provided him with enough like bouncing off the snow to see his way.
And with just the cover, Uller's cheeks flushed with color that turned his cheeks purple. Okay this girl on the cover was… really good looking, Jack damn it. He cleared his throat and casually opened the cover and hummed. Some of the faces looked familiar, really, others he knew. Still seeing them like this was, well.. He smirked wide and then licked his lips and over his teeth as he just settled there, against a wall that was probably covered in unspeakable juices and diseases and just couldn't find himself caring. He took a deep breath, completely absorbed in this magazine, oblivious to whatever went on around him. No, he'd never had a skin magazine before, never really thought about it, but here he was.
Maybe he'd be able to take this home and… read it more thoroughly than skimming it the way he was. Licking his lips a little, Uller glanced around and shifted to wander back inside to catch up with the rest of the group. Rip in his pants be damned. He shoved the magazine under his jacket and just smirked a bit.
