Yasmine took the lead, while looking for a nice spot to look up at the stars. They still had a little time until it was dark out, enough time to find the perfect area to lay down and relax. She didn't want to stray to far from where she was waiting for her father, just in case he started looking for her.

“What do you think of this area?” She asked, stopping where it was pretty flat, with a couple of small trees in the area. It was nice and quiet. The only creatures in the area were off in the distance.

“I think this would be the perfect spot for me to listen to you talk about the one eyed lion.”

Back at the pride, she knew she could never get this much privacy. One of her siblings would surely spy on her to make sure all went well (or made sure the night was a disaster depending on the siblings). Being away from her family, made it easier for her to open up.

So, he hadn't known her very long and already she wanted him to meet her father. Though, he supposed he didn't see the harm in that, especially if he was going to be hanging around her. If he had children he supposed he would probably like to be informed, at least a little.

Lord knows his parents were always wanting to be in the know, but he wasn't around them right now so he didn't have to worry about it. He wasn't sure IF he would head back to them at all, he rather liked his newfound freedom of being a traveler with no place to call home. Unless his parents sent someone to find him. Then the fun would be over.

But, this was not the time to talk about such things and since she had yet to ask, there was no reason for him to tell. He kind of liked being Aeonus of nowhere than Aeonus of Stonehaven.

"Oh yes, this place is perfect." He said in response to her question and a quick look around himself. It would indeed work very well. "You promise you won't get scared once I start will you?" He asked giving her a semi serious look and then smiling to let her know he was pulling her leg. "Though you could always sit closer to me if you get scared." He gave her a wink, he was MOSTLY joking about that one, but he wouldn't mind it if she did decide to sit closer to him.

Yasmine let out a laugh. “I could never be scared of a story. My sisters Bahiji and Cyra have told me so many scary stories when I was little. The two of them were always trying to scare me.” She explained. Now days she didn't spend as much time with the twins. They all had different goals and aspirations. She had heard rumors of one of her sisters being set up for an arrange marriage. When she got back to her pride, she knew that she would have to talk to her sister about it. But for now she just wanted to focus on Aeonus and his story.

“Sometimes their stories would scare me and I would snuggle up to my mom, but that was when I was little. I doubt I could be scared of a story now that I am older.” She looked at him with a cocky grin. “However, if I do get scared, even just a little, I'll be sure to sit closer to you.” She found a soft patch of grass and laid down, excited to hear Aeonus story.

This was the closest she had ever felt to feeling like home since she entered the rogue lands. It was a comfort knowing that even if she was so far at home someone could make her feel relaxed and safe.

He chuckled as he listened to her words and then got a semi serious look upon his face. "You wouldn't get scared? Even if I did this!" He said pouncing at her gently attempting to roar like a lion. "I may use special effects such as that throughout my tale." He said sitting back down with a bit of laughter in his voice. Her sisters seemed to be just like his own siblings.

A nuisance. Mkodi knows he loves them dearly but sometimes he just wanted to be away from them, and well. He was.

He smiled as she gave him cocky little grin and said she'd get close if she got scared. He then pondered for a moment about where to start. "Can you picture it? An empty land of dirt and destruction and a path of rocks and walls ahead?" He said waiting a moment for her to image such a place. "The weather was dreary and it was starting to look like a storm might come and then there is me. Walking on that path deeper and deeper into the rocky crevices. A labyrinth of sorts some call it."

He paused looking at her and gave her a smile. He liked this, he very much liked this. At this point he got up and walked a little ways away so he could re-enact what was about to unfold. "So there I was, walking along, low and cautious. Trying to do my best to figure out how to get out of this strange and desolate place when I saw him." He froze while he was walking, eyes wide. "The largest, meanest lion I had ever set my eyes upon and he was missing an eye." He took his paw and covered his right eye to show her which one it was that was missing. "He growled and roared in a voice that was so unnatural that I realized this lion had to be diseased or perhaps mad. He was covered in scars and battle wounds so I knew that must be it."

He lowered himself to the ground, head looking around as if trying to see a way out. "There I told myself, if I could just race around him and get a high point advantage I would be free of him. But it was then that the lion leaped!." He pounced on Yasmine gently to push her to the ground with him on top. "The lion stood above me, his hot breath on my face, and he growled low and guttural. I knew it was over. I knew it was the end!" He said dramatically before continuing, not move from his spot on top of her. "Then he lifted his paw and I looked in horror and waited for the blow to come. I looked again and saw that a very nasty rock had found itself lodged into the pad of the beast and that's what all the commotion was about. He hadn't eaten or drank anything in a few days since his paw was making it hard fro him to move. So I helped him get it out, fetched him some water from one of the packs I used to carry at the time and a small snack and we left on a good note."

He said while backing off of her with a grin. "Sorry if I hurt you when i did that, I was trying to throw in some dramatic affects." He said with a sheepish smile.

Yasmine let out a surprise laugh when he pounced on her. She quickly regained her composure and stood up straight. “Try as you would like there is no way I am going to let you scare me.” She said with a growing grin.

As he told his story, Yasmine found herself leaning closer and closer to him. The imagery he described laid out in her mind. She had never seen a lion like the one he described. A chill went down her spine as she imagined him. “You must have been terrified!” She interjected, though she soon became deadly quiet to continue listening.

When he pounced on her she let out a surprised squeal, followed by a giggle. If she could, she would have kicked herself for reacting to his pouncing. It was harder to focus on his story now, but she stared into his violet eyes, admiring the view she had. She didn't daydream for long though. She was swept back into the story as he was concluding it.

“That was an excellent story. Bravo!” She declared as soon as he got off her. “You had me going there. I thought that he was surely going to attack you! I am glad it ended on a high note and not with you running away for dear life. Your story is the kind I wish I could bring home to my family. They would be so overwhelmingly jealous!”

He had very much enjoyed the closeness of her throughout his tale and the look in her eyes when he had brought it to life before her through his words. My my, was she growing on him? Time would tell it would seem.

He sat up proudly, beaming at his stories conclusion. Though he really didn't find himself much of a glory cat so he relaxed once more, his tail curling around his feet as he sat down. "I'm glad that you liked it. It was definitely a turn of events, I was very certain I was about to be kitty chow." He said drawing a paw across his throat.

He cocked his head and watched her violet gaze with his own and spoke once more. "Do you not travel often? I'm sure if you did you'd be able to dazzle them with enchanting tales of heroism and chivalry." His head nodded as he concluded his sentence.

"Maybe you can tell me a tale that one of your sisters told you?" He asked looking at her with a raised brow. "We are sharing stories are we not?" He said with a coy grin as he stretched his legs out in front of him, laying his head upon them and gazing up at her with a flirtatious bat of his eyes. "I'm dying to hear something you grew up with."

“I never travel outside my pride, except on rare occasions like this one where I am escorting my father. To be honest, I am not even right for this role. Father should have brought a fighter with him, but I begged him to take me with him.” Yasmine explained. “Hopefully after this mission, I will be allowed to go on more missions outside the pride.”

If she did really well on this mission, she was sure that they would have her go on more missions.

“Well, okay I can tell you one of the stories my sisters used to tell me.” She had one story in mind. “It's about a cheetah from my pride who died when I was younger, old enough to explore on my own, but young enough to have a curfew.”

She looked up at the sky, thinking about how she wanted to start off the story. “Annu was her name. She had joined our pride as a refugee of another pride. She didn't have any family or friends in the pride and mostly just kept to herself. The only time I ever heard her was at night. She would start crying out with ghastly wails,” She imitated the cry, as best she could, making sure she sounded in pain. “She was loud enough so my family could hear her. This would go on until one of the witch doctors created some medicine to keep the nightmares at bay.”

“One day my sisters decided to investigate. Annu was a mystery to us all and my sisters were just nosy enough to try and figure her out. They asked her what her nightmares were about, what her old pride was like and why she left.” Yasmine shook her head. Sometimes her sisters really could be a nuisance. “Annu never told them anything though. She just ignored them. Of course that was not enough for my sisters. They had to investigate.”

She stopped and looked at Aeonus. “After this, the story gets scary. If you get scared, you can always sit closer to me.” She added with a wink, purposefully repeating his words.

I fail at life

He listened as she said she never really traveled much. He cocked his head slightly and furled his brows. He wondered why he would need a fighter. Though he supposed it would be for protection. Surely they weren't in that much danger. "Well, I'm glad you begged." He said giving her a coy smile.

He made himself comfortable as she began to tell her tale and shuddered at her imitation and allowed himself to get pulled into her words. He wondered what her sisters found. He sat up and scooted closer and closer to her until he was just beside her and looked at her with twinkling eyes. "I'll be sure to hold you close if I do get scared." He winked back and waited patiently for her to continue.

She gave him a quick grin, before putting on a more serious expression.

“My sisters started to follow Annu daily, hoping that one day she would slip, that she would reveal part of her past. One day they got their wish. They followed her down to our water pools. Annu face was only inches away from the water. My sisters told me that her voice sounded otherworldly, like through her many different voices spoke.” She explained. When her sisters talked about it, she really didn't understand what they meant. She always thought they meant that her voice made an echo sound, which would make sense. “The words she made were gibberish. There wasn't a single word that they understood.”

She paused for a moment for dramatic effect. “They went to leave, to find someone to tell, but when they turned they spore that the couldn't move their legs, that it felt like something was holding them back.” She gently placed her paw on top of Aeonus'. “Annu stepped closer and closer until they could feel her breath on them.”

Yasmine leaned close to Aeonus ear. “She whispered, 'A little late for little cubs to be out wandering.' After that my sisters were able to run back to the den. They woke me and my other siblings up to tell us their story. We made a promise to investigate it the next day.” She let out a laugh. “When we went to check up on Annu, we found that she was gone along with all her things. Just disappeared like that. We asked around and the only answer we got was that she was sent away on a mission. She has yet to return to our pride though.”

It was a short ghost story. She hardly believed her sisters when they told it. They were known to exaggerate the truth.

He scooted closer to her anxiously as she continued on with her tale, her expression serious and her words almost dark and mysterious. He was imagining the whole ordeal in his mind and watching her speak and express everything at the same time. The way she went about things was cute and he enjoyed watching her. HE WAS listening to her story, but he was also watching her just a little more.

He cocked his head slightly as she continued and then when she paused and placed her paw on top of his and then leaned in as if she were Annu, her warm breath falling down upon him as she whispered into his ear. It sent shivers down his spine, but not the kind that meant you were afraid. He gave himself a small shake and acted a little scared when she had done it though and then smiled when she explained that when they went back to investigate Annu was gone. "Perhaps she was really a ghost." He said with a coy smile. "Though, you never know, maybe she was sent out on a mission... and just never came back." He added slowly at the end. "What do you think happened?"

He looked around and stood up so he was close to her and looked at her with a raised brow. "We should really be getting you back now. Or at least allow me to escort you to where it is you need to be. I'd be devastated if I were to never see you again." He said placing a paw over his heart. He had to admit, he liked the female, which was a first for him. Sure he liked to look but she was something different.

“At the time I was certain it was a ghost. It was a much more exciting and wondrous answer then her just leaving.” She answered. “However, after growing up it became clear that she left the pride or died on a mission. Part of me wishes that she was more mystical.”

It had been some time since she had thought about that story. Aeonus had been such a good listener and reacted so perfectly to her story. It was a real treat seeing him respond.

She nodded her head. Her father was normally patient, but if she showed up at their meeting location and she wasn't there he would worry. He wouldn't trust her again. “I wish we could spend a little bit more time together though.” She said, trying to come up with a plan. “You know, you should stick around with us tonight. Once my father shows up, he will surely have some food with him. I am certain that he would gladly share with you after hearing about how you showed me around.”

Yasmine smiled, hoping that Aeonus would agree.

"Honestly, I would have believed it was a ghost as well." He said with an amused chuckle. He looked over at her for a moment, "Well, just imagine her as such and she always will be mystical. Especially if you keep the tale alive." He said to her with a warm smile. He was certainly growing to like her company very much and found it rather odd he had met someone like her alone when he had.

He listened and frowned slightly when she said that she had wanted more time with him. He furled his brows and suddenly felt a feeling of loss. Did she have to go? Then she came up with a solution. "I would love to meet your father, plus I wouldn't want you to travel to where you needed to be alone." He said wanting to be a little protective of her. He was sure she was quite capable on her own, but he wanted to travel with her. "If you but lead the way I shall follow." He said with a kind smile and a bow of his head and an extension of his paw.
