[PRP] Shadows in the Forest (Parachichi, Aureliana & Nox)

Parachichi was sore. She was cuddled up in the hollowed out tree roots at the base of a large tree. Her bright green fur was muddied and darkened with dirt that she just didn't care to scrape off. She was grateful for her sister, who had run back into the pride at the news of the attack, the same sister who had burst into their den and attacked the stranger who had been attacking Parachichi.

Both Aureliana and Parachichi had escaped when the stranger was disorientated, though both had left with injuries.

She breathed in shallow breaths, trying not to expand her rib cage too much. She hated this forest. She hated everything about this forest, and she just wanted to cry.




Aureliana hustled through the trees, in her element in the forest which had been her home for years now. She hadn't lived in the pride for long after becoming an adult, disappearing into the forest to live amongst the fairies because that was where her heart lied.

She still adored her family in the pride though, and would visit them, and when she heard that strangers were attacking, it was without hesitation that she raced back to rescue her family as best she could.

Her mother was somewhere in the forest too, but Aureliana was focused on Parachichi.

"Hey sis," she called out, appearing next to the tree. "I brought you some food." She dropped a few fruits down onto the ground next to her sister, before sitting down next to her, protective, because they were exposed and vulnerable even in the forest. She was not about to let anyone hurt her baby sister, not again.

Velveteen Angel

Darkness swam in and out of his vision as the lion moved forward. In between the spinning trees Nox found himself dragging his body slowly forward. Each step brought another sharp pain in his side and he found that it was getting harder to breathe. I hope that b*****d feels every bit this way as I do. If not worse by being dead. Death was a mercy to them considering the hell that they had just unleashed on the pride.

But it was strange. Nox thought that only Nyx could get his blood boiling, but when the attack happened the lion experienced an anger he hadn't felt in years. The fact that the group was assaulting their pride to take his home was only a bare scratch on the surface. It was when the other lion had threatened his sister's safety that Nox had finally lashed out. At the memory the lion weakly smirked. He had held the attacker off while Nyx ran to safety, but unfortunately for him it didn't take long for others to join the brawl.

While the other lions had suffered several injuries of their own Nox had managed to barely drag himself out from the battle. Only by running through the trees on a path known roughly to him and a few groundlings had he managed to slip away from the chaos. Still his burst of speed had cost him as it tore open his side even more. Crimson splashes of blood, both his and others', stained his coat while fresh blood oozed out of the deep claw marks in his side. The worst, however, was across his face where the wound caused him to close his right eye. Nox wasn't even certain if he could open it due to the blood caked on there.

His fur was matted in blood and dirt as he had no energy to try to clean himself. All his energy went to making himself move forward despite the pain in his swollen front leg and the dizziness of his blood loss. His worry for his twin and his determination to find her kept him moving forward at a crawl. However his body could only handle so much and once he heard noise from others ahead Nox tried his hardest to reach them.

Forgive me. I'm trying, Nyx. At the thought the lion let out a moan before tumbling forward to pass out on the ground.
