Summer had finally come, the sun shone high in the sky as he small filly danced in the grove of purple trees. Her father had told her that they were known as Jacaranda. The young filly loved the purple tree and wondered if that was what branched from her back. Inanna had found it curious that she was the only one in her family, besides her mother to have a tree growing upon her back and even more curious that the tree on her mom’s back was dead and blackened. How could that create something as beautiful as the Jacaranda tree upon her back? Inanna did not know and she wanted to find out, but who to ask? Her siblings were not being any fun today either, they were off being serious and did not want to play. It was summer; it was the season of play. She looked up at the trees, “I wish I had a friend. And we would go on adventures… learn new things, perhaps get into some trouble…”
