[CHAL] Fighting For Life (Kame'Bufuu x Anika)

Kame and his family had traveled long and hard since the U'W eventually fell apart. It was a difficult decision for them all. Mitra and Thamina has lived their all their lives, he had finally found a place to call home and was happy. Ill fate liked to follow him, he guessed.

Even in the Rogue Lands, they were met with hardship. His son, Amjad, left them in search of his mother and his missing sisters and brothers. Mitra and Thamina both felt the sting of Kinaya's missing presence, Thamina especially as Kinaya had birthed her. When they stumbled upon this pride here and seen familiar faces long thought dead Kame took it as a sign that this is where they would stop and make their new home. Now if only they could get in it...

It was customary for people wanting to join this pride to duel their way in. Kame was seasoned, but aging. Thamina was taught and disciplined, but untested, and Mitra was new to hunting, fighting and surviving. They all had their weaknesses in this new place, but were determined to gain entry to these lands as a family.

Kame plodded along the borders till he spotted someone in the distance, "You there! I have come seeking refuge for my family and myself. I was told it is customary to fight your way in. I am here to take up this challenge."

Anika looked down at the approaching rogues, it had been awhile since she had fought and entering rogue, time for her to do her job. The male that called out to her seemed to be aging and for a half a second she thought about taking it easier on him but then again that's not what her job was. If he wanted in he was going to have to prove his worth.

"I accept your challenge" she told him "Show me what you've got."

Anika was proud that she could hold her own against most males, and as one of the few female Reavers she felt like she had a lot to prove.

Kame simply nodded to the warrior who approached him. He wasn't used to seeing women in the role of warrior; not since the exit from his first pride anyway. To say the least, he was happy to know that there were places for his daughter and wife among front lines if they ever chose to be apart of that life. However, this was not a time of fond fantasizing of the future as he was now tasked with once again creating a home for his family in this pride.

His aged face hardened as he shifted himself from that of a doting husband and father, to a warrior long forgotten. He was prepared to battle the world to get into this pride, as if he hadn't traveled and taken it on already. Bracing himself against the earth he propelled himself forward. In his age he was not as fast as he once was, but he still carried strength and clout, as well as a sharp mind.

He charged forward deciding to take aim for the lioness's legs. He could win his match against her without the use of claws, so long as he went for her legs. After all, if he won they would be pride mates and despite not realizing that some took great value in their scars, he did not want a grievance against him if he did win.

Taking aim, Kame pounced at her, raising a paw to strike at her thigh.

Anika was surprised when the male swiped out at her leg. He moved quicker then she thought he would she had to give him credit for that. He made contact with her leg and she felt it wobble beneath her, she went down to her knee with that leg, very thankful that he hadn't had his claws out at the time, she would have hated to be truly injured this early in the challenge.

"I should have given you more credit old man." she mummbled as she rose to her feet and prepared herself for her own attack. She tried to move fast but clearly the whack to her leg had done more damage than she had thought. She reached out to deliver her own blow she found herself stumbling. She was so embarrassed at herself. She was glad that the other Reavers weren't around to see this, they would never let her live it down, she already took enough flack being a female.

Kame watched as the lioness went down on her knee after his first blow. His nose crinkled slightly at her comment, but now wasn't a time for words. He'd teach her respect for him through his combat. After all, she was not one of his children and he was not obligated to be kind with his lessons. She'd learn the hard way.

As she attempted to charge him, Kame braced himself to push against her but his blow to her leg threw her more off balance than she anticipated. Swiping out at him, she fumbled and missed him. He was able to sidestep it briskly before he reared his paw back for another blow. As she recovered from her mistake, he took another heavy clawless swing at her aiming for the top of her head. A disoriented foe was much easier to take down.

A growl escaped Anika's lips when she felt the paw of the older male land against the back of her head. She had surely underestimated this opponent and now she had ground to make up. She was taking a look around the cliffs to make sure none of the other reavers were witnessing her fail.

Barley giving herself a moment to collect herself Ankia moved towards the male swiping out at his legs. She was moving more confidently this time, wanting to at least land one blow on this male. She didn't want to seem weak, he was doing well but he had to prove his worth before she'd let him walk in. Of course now she had to deal with a headache, at least he was keeping his claws in. Blood in her eyes would be a big hindrance.

Kame felt the blow against one of his worsening joints and grunted as he felt the leg give way and himself falter forward. The pain resonated throughout his leg intensely making it difficult for him to regain his footing. With one of his legs weakened it would be much harder for him to throw heavy blows at her as he would either make the one worse by using it to swing at her or risk faltering on it again if decided to use the other to deliver blows.

Still, he had full use of his back legs and at least one of his front legs meaning he still had the ability to maneuver. He would need to adapt from blow by blow contact to full body contact. It would take up more energy, but it was less risk to his pained leg. With his stability regained for the moment he charged himself forward and into the lioness to bring her to the ground.

Anika grunted as his the male collided with her. She absorbed the impact with her shoulder and she couldn't help but wince a little as his full wait absorbed into the one joint. She tried to shake it off but she knew now that side was going to be weak, she wouldn't be able to deliver the same blows as before. She'd have to favor her right side heavily now.

She quickly charged back with her own body slam. She knew the males front was weak and if she had been fighting stronger she would have gone for her back legs. This male had been keeping her on her toes though and she was doing what she could to keep her head up in the fight. Perhaps he wouldn't be a bad addition to the pride after all.

Kame braced himself as soon as the female went to charge at him. He wobbled when she made impact with him and he could feel the leg she struck earlier begin to give out. He didn't want to risk damaging it further with this back and forth game the lioness wanted to play. Exchanging similar blows in this competition of self worth. It was time to put an end to it.

With her still recovering her bearings from the body check she delivered, Kame thrusted himself on top of the lioness to pin her to the ground. If she could not move, then she could not try to continuously go blow for blow with him. He could end this, claim his spot within the pride and bring Mitra and Thamina with him to their new home.

Anika found herself on her back looking up into the face of the male. Her pride was more than wounded but that was alright. The point of the challenge wasn't that they didn't want new comers they just wanted the new comers to prove their abilities, something this lion had done quite well.

"Well done." she said a smile on her face. She was not angry for him over taking her instead she was pleased. The pride could use more like him.

"Welcome to your new home." she told him as she wiggled out from underneath him and turned to gesture towards the pride's lands.

Kame pulled himself off of Anika as she congratulated him for winning his challenge. He was simply happy that this was another obstacle that was over with, and that he had secured his family a new home for future generations. Hopefully this one would not succumb to the same fate as his previous home. He suspected it wouldn't given what it took to get in.

"My family's new home," He stated, giving a slight sigh at the confirmation of it all. He could go tell Mitra and Thamina now and not have to worry about their consequences.
