A crazy elite pinball that looked ready to explode was not the sort of swag Piper was looking for here. Then again, a lot of the good stuff seemed taken already. She gave Ignatius a look, then the machine, then the ghost again, then his new toy, and snickered. "Fine, whatever you say, Blight . . . I call dibs if it, like, doesn't totally blow up in your face after a week." Or a day, shewas seriously questioning that thing.
(She was doing him a courtesy, calling him by his username rather than something as horribly nerdy as Ignatius. Or worse, Iggy.)
Luckily for Jory, she did remember him. Vaguely. Piper didn't exactly meet a lot of people who looked like a scared minipet ready to bolt (or really meet much of anyone as of late). "Oh, hushhhhh," the mage chided him gently, bopping his shoulder with her papery prize. "This, gentleboils, is a map! Which, like, is totally handy." Piper tried to give it a helpful spin because otherwise she was going to pout a lot about how the only thing she could get her hands on was a freaking map.

"Indeed, whatever I say." Ignatius puffed out his chest a bit, an ever-so-confident grin taking over his features. Not that he ... wasn't normally confident. Honestly, he was probably a bit too confident...
The new arrival distracted him from her and any claims of dibs. That was a rather fishy tail. Curiously, Ignatius tilted his head, perhaps attempting to get a better all-around view of the boil that had just walked up to them. He was clearly familiar with Piper, so maybe this was one of Piper's other friends that weren't himself or Brenley...
He looked like he was going to melt into the floor with how nervous he seemed. Ignatius blinked at him a few times, wondering why a boil would be so nervous. This was theirs. This was the students lounge! This was their vengeance again professor tyranny! DOWN WITH THE PROFESSORS!
What was that all about?
Ignatius shook his head out of the streak of vengeance, looking towards Piper once again. What was she holding... a map?
"Well, does it show us any secrets or interesting places?"
That would make it useful.

Cheery happiness warred with an innocent pseudo-vengeance in the boil's mind, causing Rojo to alternate between waving enthusiastically at everyone he passed and engaging in thoroughly malicious trickery such as tapping people on the shoulder farthest from him so they turned to face no one, giving them demon's horns with his splayed fingers, and making faces at them while their backs were turned. Ooo. So bad. Even though he could hardly ignore the ice sculpting or the teacher kidnapping going on around him, Rojo still found himself making comparisons to home, if only because of the crowd.
Every year, just as the humans' Halloween was ending, his village threw one more celebration. There was no rest between the last day of true October and the first of Waning for him. It was the start of another year long party.
In the crowd, Rojo caught sight of his hand skittering past a pair of burly ghosts and made a dash for it. He dove, landing on top of it and jamming the appendage back on his wrist with a sharp pop. Generally fond of the spotlight, Rojo was a little wary of attracting any more of it here, now that he'd had his fun and been a part of the older students' troublemaking. After another cheerful wave of cheerful waves with his reattached hand, Rojo was gone, slipping out of the teachers' lounge and heading back to his dorm.
