[PRP] Playtime for Storm Clouds [Ramitiiz x Viridis]

Ramitiiz pressed paws against the new land. It was much less green, or lush than he was used to, but a welcome change. He was so used to his savannahs, where he used to wander, covered in either green grass, or dying grass, but grass, trees, marshes, forests all around. In any direction you could find more greenery. Here, there was less of that, there was the marsh to the south, but he had yet to make it that far.

He kept to himself so far, unsure of his place with everyone, but knowing that their way of life seemed the best for him. He was trying his best to get a grip of the surrounding area, find his way around. But without his trees and watering holes, it all looked too similar so far.

He stood in silence for a moment, near a main path, confused as to where exactly he was. Other lions bustled about with their day, some cubs sparred not far off, a group sat nearby with a captain, it seemed.

Viridis had been sitting and watching spars all day, as well as taken his own turn to rough-and-tumble in the sparring circle. He had held his own against some, and lost quite badly to others- he was pretty average for now. But he was growing distracted now that his turn was over in the circle. His attention wandered to yet another new face… A larger sparring partner was sure to give the cub better skills than the other cubs! Viridis had to prove he was strong on his own, so this male would be his target for a surprise attack…

Vir dipped low into the grass and slunk up to the path as the stranger approached. He gave his butt a little waggle and flicked his tail once before he launched himself viciously at his opponent, hoping to get the male's tail.

Rami's wandering mind was quickly redirected to a small weight and pain in his tail. He tried to move his tail but it seemed held down. As he turned around, he found a white cub latched on as if his tail were the catch of the pride.

He was horrified, confused, and astounded all at once. "Hey! Whatcha think you're doin' runt?" He said as he pulled his tail away with a little more force. "You know that you were chomping on someone's tail, right there? What gives you the right to my tail?" He lifted an eyebrow at the cub as he inspected his tail.

He then looked around, guessing the cub came from the small group sparring ahead, and sighed. Rami hadn't had much interaction with cubs, the rogue cubs were always with their mothers, and their mothers were usually crying over a lion that left or crying over a lion that wouldn't leave. Not the type of scene he was tempted to join. He didn't really know how to act around children!

Success! Victory belonged to the small white cub! He had chomped down on the tuft of the stranger's tail with as much force as his little jaws could muster. Most of that force fell on empty fluff, but he drooled it up a little bit! To him, a landed hit was a landed hit, Viridis was sure his opponent would yowl in pain.

It was quite a surprise to him, then, when the adult could yank his tail out of Vir's toothy grasp. "Why, any lion worth his salt should be able to take a fight at any time, regardless of surprise! That's what gives me the right, and I'm no runt! I'll show you," he said, more determined than ever to prove that he was a strong fighter, and would grow up to be the kind of lion you didn't mess with! Of course, to him, this wasn't something full of malice. It was a sparring battle of honor and dignity, he had to upkeep his pride!

Now that he had the front of his opponent facing him, he decided his paw would be his next victim. "Prepare yourself!" The small cub warned, taking his little challenge quite seriously as he lunged forward, launching himself at the male's front paw, little jaws agape to catch their target.

The little fleabag came at him again! Obviously, Ramitiiz didn't have any need to prepare himself for anything, as those little teeth couldn't do too much damage to him unless he actively let it happen. But he literally stood in awe at the way this cub spoke to him. Was this how all the young ones were? Rude and boggling?

Little teeth landed in his paw as he watched, too confused to try and stop the cub. He wasn't sure if he should play along or swat the kid off and teach him to mind his manners around older lions. For now, however, the little guy wasn't really causing any harm, and Rami remembered when he was younger and tried to subdue every creature he met, also.

He let the cub grab onto his paw for a few moments before taking his other front paw and swatting, gently, not hard enough to hurt the cub but to playfully flop him over, at the boys shoulder and side. "You think you can show me? You're not worth the time of day, flea!"

"Hff HFFF!" Viridis yelled as loud as he could muster through a paw-stuffed mouth, meaning to be a victorious laugh. How could his opponent possibly take his paw-strike-sting technique? Certainly the adult wasn't expecting that! He gave no mind to the adult's attitude towards his vicious battle, only to the attacks the other may put up. Clearly, the large lion was quite beside himself and shocked by Vir's skills- he was so amazed that he could not bring himself to even try to retaliate! It took him a moment before his swat landed, for Vir was not even close to wanting to release the male.

He tried to keep his jaws clamped, but realized that it might be more effective to launch a second attack from a different vantage point, so he opened his jaws right before the swat.

"I see, made of tougher stuff, eh?" he growled intensely. He thinks I'm a flea, does he? the cub thought to himself, letting the insult give him an idea instead. "Only a flea can do this!" he said before lowering himself as far as he could and springing up into the air, hoping to give the male's ear a swipe, if he could make it up that high!
