This was it. This was what he'd been waiting for for so long: his first real fight, against a real Qyrhyeshti! His first chance at glory. The moments spent on top of those rocks, pressing himself down against them, were the longest moments of his life thus far. But then, finally, the lionesses were close enough, and he sprang into action without waiting for word from his partner.
Asil leapt from the rocks, aiming to land right on top of his enemy.
Disin was doing her routine patrol, but a little further out than normal. Hopefully it wouldn't be dangerous, she didn't have anyone in earshot who could rescue her. Help was probably a good half-mile off or so. But she was the toughest lioness, it didn't give her much cause for concern. Well, she was a little apprehensive passing by the high rocks. The sun was behind them, shining in her eyes, which only made things worse.
Her instincts proved right when the sun was partially blocked by a lion's form leaping down. He landed on her and knocked her to the ground. She was too stunned to return her opponent's blow.
