that blade they used on Sherlock episode with that really smart chick ( I can't remember her name)...: A performance piece. I mean, look at it, compared to where they are... This bugs me a bit... Very good episode, though... Full of twists...

And with some research that sword appears to be a Dadao Chen Chinese sword.
Yes. Entirely wrong sword for the region, much too shiny considering groups like that would very well have used the same blade for multiple beheadings... Groups, usually... No. Of course, it's obvious it was posed (and likely not even in the country the show would have most people assume), but for Pete's sake, the man's attention to detail is usually so great! he could have at least gotten a hold of a sword from the region. It would have made things way more convincing... sweatdrop
