I'm not authority on what's popular, but I started to develop an appreciation for blue grass recently. At this point I only listen to two artist (Abigail Washburn and Steve Martin) but I really do enjoy their music. My father plays the banjo and used to go to a folk music jam session, so I grew up listening to that style of music, but wasn't very interested in it when I was younger.

Any other bands you would recommend.?

Alison Krauss is pretty much a staple. But she seems more folk/country to me. (still awesome)

Newfound Road (is new school)

(this girl I've been listening too for years now) Tiffany Joe Allen is a country/yodeling singer. But she just needs a good blue grassband behind her and I'm sure she'd be a hit.


Lands End is a sort of irish/Bluegrass.

jerry douglas is popular.
