Chapter One:
A Meeting of Fates

"Captain! The pod is ready." a female voice bellows from the intercom. A man in a comfy chair is woken up from staring at the beautiful planet seen before him. Their tiny ship hovering about a backwater planet, Zyrika IV, Captain Arvous pushed a button on his desk.

"Good, once you've found a good spot fire the pod!" he commanded. At least now that will rid me of one trouble.. a relieved smile upon his face as he felt the ship rock a little as the cannon was fired.

In the pod a woman watched as the ship and her captain were vanishing from view. He had betrayed her, and Myrus wasn't going to forget it! She would return to space one day and track him down! Angry tears burned in her eyes as she felt the pod rock and jolt as it was being pulled into the planet's gravity. It would only be a matter of minutes before impact, before she would be cursed to be marooned on an underdeveloped world. She swore as she felt herself decend and braced her body for the impact.

"What do you mean it's only worth 2300 Frobs!" A fist slammed upon the traders desk. Markus had never been so insulted! He a MONSTER SLAYER, one of the top ones to be exact, being treated like a common greenhorn.

The goblin trader looked up from his spectacles as his fat lips curled up into a greedy smile. "I tolds ya! Grivven Fangs is only worths! 2300 Frobs! Takes it or else I'll finds me another client!" he said in a squeeky voice.

With an angry sigh, Markus grabbed the bag of the silvery coins and left the small trader's shop in a huff. That last hunt had nearly killed him. Grivvens were hard monsters to kill. Stupid Bog Goblins! If they weren't in such a need for monster fangs and claws he would be rid of them. At least this town had given him some coin, and he would yet again find a meal and a decent trip to the blacksmith. Yet this small little trader town didn't have much, it would probably be a good idea to move on soon.

"What's the matter? You failed at making the big Frobs again?" an middle age woman scoffs. Dressed in a crop top sholder padded leather jerkin, showing off plenty of clevage and her attractive flat abdomen, along with a pair of skin tight leather pants and high heeled boots the dirty blonde haired woman had snatched the bag from his hands.

"My my..only 2300? Markus Lightwind you need to do better! Oh ho ho ho!" she scoffed.

"H-Hey give that back Viollah! Keep your dirty hands off of my hard earnings!"

"Ha ha hard earnings? You call this dribble hard earnings? I mave 23,000 frobs from the last few fangs I picked up. You call yourslef a Monster Slayer yet you've only just begun. I can't believe you're the son of the famous Pike Lightwind." Viollah muses taking three silvers from the pouch then tossing it back to him. "These are for the tax fee of the guild. You really should stop shirking your taxes! I hate and love to see you so much. Well you have fun with your 2000! Try not to spend it in more than one place Oh ho ho!!"

Markus growled, that damned woman. The guild had sent her after him again! How many times was she going to take the 'tax' from his hard earnings? Part of him felt like that woman did it on purpose to torture him. Igoring her swaying body as she left him to probably go drink herself silly, Markus decided to just leave town. He was mad now and didn't really care, he needed to cool off. The best spot was the small hill just north of the town.

The moon was beautiful tonight, and the warm breeze happily reminded him that it was going to become summer soon. Letting out a sigh he gazed up at the stars. The brown haired young 24 year old was getting tired of piddling around for scraps. He wanted to bag a better monster, yet this area was starting to dry up.

What am I going to do? he though laying on his back. Dressed in a beat up iron breastplate, covering a thick leather hide shirt, iron mailed pants, and thick iron toed boots the young man was a rambler. Not staying in one place he let the wind guide his heart. Looking at the small bag of Frobs he had just obtain he sighed once more.

Someday..someday I'm going to become rich! I'm going to become better than my father! Someday I'll wipe that smile off the face of that stupid woman! Someday...I hope...

A light pierced the sky as one of the stars looked as if it was getting closer. Markus's light green eyes couldn't believe it, as he watched something fall from the heavens and smack into the vally just south of the hill he was engulfed in light. The earth shook and when the light faded there appeared to be something made of metal smoking in the distance. Something told him to go look.

The Salisburry Plains weren't that far from the hill he was on so it only took him a few minutes to reach where the object had impacted the ground. Pulling out his poleaxe he held it out in front of him as he crept closer to the large metal tube like object. It was crafted out of metal he had never seen before. Yet what really surprised him was all the lights on it, pulsing and moving around in circles. Then the top opened.

Smoke arose from the object as a figure slowly rose from it. His heart beat with fear and uncertainty. Once the smoke cleared a woman stood before him, and all he could do was gasp.

The woman appeared to be in her early 20's. A pair of spectacles rested upon her beautiful and slightly plumpish face. Her eyes were bright and silver colored. Colors of a deep purple hair danced in the wind, yet most of it was consisted in a bun on her head. Pointy ears, that curled dowards a little, jutted from her head that sort of made him question if she was one of the Misty Elves. What sort of struck him was her clothing. She was dressed in a white coat-like suit, with part of it cropped to see a bit of her clevage sticking out, that fell to her thighs, along with a white mini skirt made of the same odd material. Her belly was a bit on the plumpside, yet one of her hands was resting upon it so maybe she was with child. Markus really couldn't tell she was kind of too far up and the smoke was still surrounding her a little. Her boots were made of the same material and they appeared to be high heeled.

"Ze cruiz! Ze cruiz valla grib!?" she finally said tilting her head. Markus just stared at her confused, he couldn't understand her.

She stared at him then frowned. "Ze cruiz! Ze cruiz valla grib!?"

"What!? I don't know a damn thing your saying!?" he grumbled back annoyed at her pretty, yet odd language.

Her eyes flashed and the tilted the edge of her glasses. Placing a hand to a small divice near her ear a beam of light shot out and engulfed Markus unexpectantly causing the man to shield himself and fall on his butt. "Gah no no!! keep it away! Keep it away!!!!" he said in a panic.

Markus had never seen magic like that before and he was scared. What the hell was she. Once the light faded he sat there hiding his eyes from her.

"I asked if you were alright? I hoped my pod didn't land on you or anything living." she said slowly decending from the pod.

"Of course I'm all---w-what!? You're speaking my language!?"

The woman smiled and gently placed a hand upon her small rounded stomach. Her other hand tilted the glasses on her head. With a bow she extended the hand that was upon her belly to him. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you Backwater Being. I am Myrus Constalla, and...I need your help."

Sounds like the story takes place in a similar universe to the one we have going in our 1v1 RP.

Hehe, that would be funny to have Kha'per and Zeph make a brief cameo here in this story.

(thank you google chrome for making me have to type this out AGAIN!!! crying I hate you!! I apologize if this second rendition of the chapter isn't as good as I had typed it out originally.)

Chapter Two
Spilled Milk

"So let me get this straight! The man you loved just dumped you off onto my 'planet'?" Markus asked as he watched her gobble down the food he had bought her.

They had moved to a small tavern and Myrus was greatful for having something to eat. She had been placed in the ship's prison, so she didn't get much to eat. "Yes! Though I do not think is it my Captain's fault. Ever since the days in the academy I have harbored a crush for the man. He was the star senior who had the intellect and skill to become a captain! You could imagine my surprise when I was chosen to become one of his crew!" she giggled with stars in her eyes. "He even stared to date me and took me out to dinner! Oh it was like a dream, and when we bonded with love I was sure he would be happy when he found out I was carrying his child! But, oddly he seemed rather cold about it. I think one of the other female crew members tricked him! She was obviously jealous of our love!"

"Riiiight...to me it sounds like he dumped you..." Markus replied uninterested.

"S-Shut up you Backwater Ignoramous! Hmph! I doubt a simpleton like you could understand our love! Captain Arvus loves me! I bet he's just testing our love and will come to pick me up in only a few days time!" she pouted then began to massage her full stomach.

Markus sighed, then leaned back in his chair. "So what do you need my help for?"

"Right! Back to that! I need you to escort me to an engineer so I can get help remodifying the pod I came in. You barbarian types are always looking for payment right? So maybe I'll give you a kiss if you do me this favor. C'mon you aren't going to turn a pretty lady down are you?" she said pouting her lips and giving him a puppy eyed look.

Of course he was going to turn her down! Why did he always meet the odd women? Why couldn't he meet someone normal for once. Yet the child within her did concern him a bit. She had told him that she was only two months along with a little girl. He didn't want to but he would help this annoying woman for her child.

"You'll probably need a change of clothing. I doubt you'll make it far with people gawking at you and your outfit.."

"Oh? Who's gawking? Are my curves leaving you curious." she giggled lightly, "Yet even though I dispise the thought of finding something new to wear I suppose it would be a good idea. Fine then take me to get some primitive clothing."

He just ignored her and lead the annoying woman to the small clothing store the trade town had to offer. When they entered they were greeted by the store owner who just happened to find Myrus's outfit a bit odd. Still with the bit of Frobs the young seamstress was given she took the alien woman by the hand and happily led her to one of the changing rooms. Myrus found it a bit unsettling feeling her 'fat' body being measured.

Markus waited for what seemed like hours. He even dozed off a couple times, but the rustling of the curtains snapped him out of his small daydream. It was then a blush found his face.

Myrus stood there wearing a frilly victorian styled dress. Beginning with the neck, it hung down covering her medium sized bust, and made her small belly look almost invisible as the dress hung to her ankles. Now wearing leather flat heeled boots, instead of her high heeled ones, she looked more normal now. The bun was gone and her curly purple hair hung down near the middle of her neck and curled outwards a little. She blushed shyly as she caught his stare.

"What? Has my appearance enticed your pheremones? Well sorry I'm already taken! Hee hee I can't believe I never tried out dresses! Oh I bet my Captain will love this when he sees it!" she said with a small twirl, then curtsied and was now looking at him sweetly with her hands behind her back.

Markus was just about to reply when suddenly a small croud had gathered outside of the store.

"Mayor we've got to do something! Those monsters have killed the third guard this week!" a villager was shouting to the fat Bog Goblin mayor. Dressed in rings and a crown, the dapper looking goblin just waved a hand. If you could really call a goblin dapper.

"Feh! I send guards to you village, though what good are they when they die?" he replied in a slight russian accent. "You humans are like puppies! You bark but then cower when real trouble comes! That is why we have hunters! Go bother them!"

"B-But mayor!" the villager grumbled watching as the mayor was escourted away.

Markus was interested and walked over to the man. "Is everything alright?" he asked with concern.

"No, a small group of Tarvus have been raiding our crop fields and kill any guards we send after them. I've tried talking to Hunters, but most of them have turned my offer down. I've only got a few Frobs."

"Keep your money I'll go take care of them! Just tell me where their nest is and I'll do the rest." he replied with a kind smile.

Myrus watched in awe. This barbarian actually had a heart! Yet why couldn't he talk all nice and sweet to her like he was to the villager. This caused her to pout.

"Y-You will! Oh thank you! The nest is just over the hill to the west you can't miss it!"

Giving a nod he had forgotten all about the alien woman just when he heard her clearing her throat. With a frown he turned to see her with her hands upon her hips. Giving him a slap across the face she pouted once more.

"I can't believe you! You promised me that you'd take me to see an engineer! Now you're going on some barbarian monster hunt? Hmph! Arvus would have taken me to an engineer, I can't believe the person who found me was a backwater ignoramous who piddles around with monsters!"

Markus had been doing his best to not get mad, but she crossed the line when she slapped him. "Shut up! Look lady I hate to tell you this but your 'Captain' is never coming back! HE DUMPED YOU! Got rid of you when he found out you were pregnant! Do you really think he loved you? I've had it up to here with you! Go find your own damned engineer I'm done! I bought you something to eat and clothing what more else do you damn want from me!? No don't answer that, because you'll just compare me to that precious heartless Captain of yours!" Without saying anymore he stomped off heading back to the Inn to gather his belongings. He was done with her.

Myrus had felt like her heart had been pierced by a bullet. His words hurt her more than he had realized. Slumping to the ground she began to weep. She knew in her heart that she had been betrayed, but she didn't want to believe it. She wanted the Captain to keep loving her in her mind, his words ripped that truth out of her.

He sighed trying his hardest to ignore the pain he was feeling. Markus didn't mean to hurt her feelings, but her insults were all he could take. Notcing the small bag of Frobs he headed out of the Inn and walked up to her, tossing the bag onto the ground.

"Here, it's not much but it'll get your child some food at least. I suggest you find a hobby or something to make some money. I'm leaving this town after I take care of my barbarian monster hunt! Good luck returning to your daydream..." with those words spoken he left her in the dust.

Her tears had stopped and as she gently reached for the small bag of coins she bit her lip. Myrus had just ruined any chance of finding help raising her baby and getting off of this planet. This was all her fault..yet she couldn't hate the man. After all he had been only nothing but kind to her, if he were truely heartless he would have just left her alone on that hillside. Looking up at his back she stared as Markus slowly faded in the distance.

Yet another great chapter/story from you SD. mrgreen I enjoyed reading it, its not often we see a character of yours get mad and blow up like that.

That cliffhanger ending has me wondering if there going to be more of this story, but assuming by the fact that you got numbered chapters I can't wait to read the next part especially after a parting of ways like that.

Thank you. I had to re-do the second chapter because Gaia logged me out oddly when I was done and erased it all xP lol I'm a bit busy but I will get back to this, I'm just casually writing it. ^^; I dunno if I'll get anymore of it up until after Easter though. I'm a bit busy with a few things in RL so I may not get to the writing contest entry either (I kind of don't want to now since Tanquela will just win because she's a better writer an I am)

I'd rather see you enter the Monthly Writing contest because truthfully I don't want to reward Tanguela for yet ANOTHER tragic/downer story. Yes, she is a good writer but I believe you are her equal and or better because you are able adjust to a variety of situations. I never see her in any RPs, I just keep having to read all these tragic stories she enters in the contest.
