Dysmas looked up at his mother with big, brown, begging eyes. "We'll have each other momma, we'll be okay." He tried to convince her, he really wanted to go out in the water today and practice his swimming, and he was almost certain Anxo did as well. Trager wouldn't let them go swimming with out Anatolio around and he probably wasn't going to be there today. "We won't go far... pleaseeeeeeeee. We've had a lot of practice, dad's a really really good teacher." This wasn't entirely true since dad had fins and he and Anxo had legs, they didn't quite work the same, but since mom didn't swim she really couldn't know that. Dysmas looked over at his brother, looking for some back up or evidence that he also wanted to go.
Trager looked at both of her boys, the clear worry of a mother in her eyes, and sadness as well as she watched her flying fish grow and try to leave the nest, but she knew that holding them close would only drive them further away from her. "Alright, but you have to stay together. And don't get too close to any rocks." She paused to think of anything else. "And be out of the water before it is dark. And don't talk to strangers." She was still uncertain about how the world would take her babies. She nodded her head certain that was it as far as rules, but there was more. "And don't go in past your knees!" Trager wasn't about to let them get swept out to see, even if they did have gills.

Anxo rolls his eyes internally, standing behind his more intrepid brother. He's definitely content to let Dysmas do all the talking, especially since they'd seen before that Anxo flouts the rules way too openly for their mother to let them do anything even remotely interesting. Don't go in past our knees? Right.
But he smiles angelically and nods, agreeing to Mom's rules. Stay together? Check. They wouldn't get into any trouble apart, so...why bother? Rocks are boring, so that's a non-issue. Nighttime is boring so, again, why bother? He's reasonably certain they wouldn't come across any strangers, unless she meant strange and interesting fish, which is what they were looking for in the first place. "C'mon, let's go!" he exclaims, tugging on Dysmas' hand.

Dysmas smiled at his brother, happy that the same idea he had was now his brother's idea, he couldn't get in trouble now. "Haha yeah. That's called walking, not swimming." Dysmas wasn't sure why mom was so freaked out about them going into the water, they were naturals! Well almost, they weren't as good as dad, but he didn't count since he was really good. Mom knew what she was talking about for some things, but Anxo was right, it was better to listen to dad when it came to the water. "The fish can't even come up to the water that comes up to my knees!" Dysmas thought about what he said for a moment, wondering if it made sense, it made sense to him at least. He wished his legs weren't so short so that they could get to the water faster. Mom had moved them closer to the water, but it still seemed like an eternity to the little water angel.
