It caused her to yawn, and open her tired blue eyes. She wondered briefly what time it was, then a glint of the sun shone on her right eye. Aw, was it still "night"? She rolled onto her side, positioning herself so she could look outside and see how far away "day" was.

Then she noticed something. The sun, was closer to earth? No, it was really close! Like a big orange blob, it rested on the ground miles, and miles away. "Sun...Sunset!" She barked, sitting up instantly. "It's sunset! That means..." Her voice trailed off as she did a half-turn, half-stand quickly and faced her family still sleeping peacefully. Sunset mean't it was just about nighttime. Just about time when she could go and run around happily.

She felt happy, proud even. For Anemy was usually always, always up last. Always left alone or with one of her other siblings who overslept. But not today! No, today Anemy was an early bird, active before the rest of her family had awoken. She turned her attention to her nearest sibling, her tail wagging playfully she approched him. "Hey." She said in a lower voice. "Hey! Get up, let's go play!"

He was deep in the middle of a dream. His paws twitched, and so did his nose. The stars were eating grapes, and saying how good they were. Not that he knew what grapes were. The voice of one of his sisters started to penatrate.

"Hey make the stars share," he mumbled before opening sleep glazed eyes. Who was it again? Taigi? Oota? Danika? Finally he realized it was Anemy. She was up oftly early today. Nootau gave a peek outside. Somewhat surprised that the sun was still up, barely, and yawned.

"Now?" Though he was already shaking the sleep from his mind as he climbed to his feet. "Whacha want?" He gave a glance up at the first stars just starting to show. "No you can't play if we do hide-n-seek. You can't hide and you'd find us no matter where we hid." The juv shook his head then looked at his sister.

Anemy looked slightly disapointed, but her reaction didn't last long. She Shook her head and continued to speak. "We won't play hide-n-seek then." Looking around she checked to see if any of her other siblings had awoke by Anemy's talking. One of them kicked their leg, but other than that everyone was still passed out.

"We'll play tag." She said quite loudly, even if she was trying to keep her voice lowered. Anemy felt clever, she knew Nootau was a fast runner (even if he did tend to stop running to look at flowers or something...) Thus, making him good competition for tag!

She started to walk towards the exit of their den, turning only to see if Nootau was actually following her.

Nootau nodded as his sister quickly agreed to no hide-n-seek. It really wasn't fair. He gave a yawn and stopped to scratched his ear. Why was it so early?

"Snookity." He mumbled then got up to follow his sibling out. The pup didn't seem to notice she was talking very loudly. "Alrighty. The stars say you should be 'it'." He got distracted at that point as something slithered by in the dark. Curiosity getting the better of him, Nootau went to run after it.

"Which way did it go?" He called up to the stars."Shine on it so I can see it to." Nootau gave a pout when they refused to help him. "Fine be that way. I'll find it myself." Not hearing it anymore, he stopped and put his nose to the ground to track it.

"Fine. But the stars say you should be it next time we play." Anemy replied with a happy atittude. She didn't bother to turn her head around, simply kept walking with a grin on her face.

After a few short seconds she noticed that nobody was following her. Instead she heard someone was running away. 'Success' the word rung in her head. Spinning around she laughed playfully, satisfied with her brothers reaction, then gave chase and stormed after Nootau.

She felt free, happy, even if she was a little drowsy. The feeling of being tired would disapear throughout the day though, so she needed not to worry about that. Anemy quickly focused on her brother, and felt a little disapointed when she noticed he was not running from her, but rather was distracted almost the exact moment they stepped outside.

She steadied her pace to a light jog and then a fast walking before she approched her distacted sibling. "Hey!" She said, panting from her short sprint. "Your suppose to be running, aren't you?"

He would have replied that the stars hadn't said that if he hadn't gotten distracted. As it was he probably wouldn't have remembered next time they played anyhow.

" 'It' isn't following me, I am following it." The pup snorted and lost the trail when he did. "Up a rainbow. Wait. What's a rainbow? Oh oh yes." His head came up as he heard his sister talking nearby. Nootau blinked at her a moment.

"Can't run and track. It might be a chicken." The young pup looked up and stuck out his lower lip. "Well that's no fair! Alright, running." While running wasn't his favoritest thing, he would put up with it for his sister. The young male bounded off, up a small hill, and slidded down into a wash. He pranced through the soft sand and looked back at his own prints.

"Hey hey stars. What do you're prints look like?"

Anemy dashed after her brother again, following him like she saw the pack hunters' surge after their prey. She felt like she was blur, the wind around her howling in her ears as she chased her sibling up a little hill and back down towards the sandy surface he was now standing upon. She almost tripped while going down-hill, and had to slow down in order to not go rolling head over heels into a tree or something.

She thankfully managed to regain her balance and resume chasing Nootau after she found her footing on the new sand after her almost distaster. She was hit with a small bit of fatigue though. Her heart finally feeling the stress of rushing around madly, her lungs struggling to fill and empty with air as rapidly as Anemy was breathing. Her legs, also felt a strain of heaviness after her sprint.

Since that was true, she forced herself to slow down to a more adaptable pace for a short bit. It would be a very temportary arrangement; only until she regained more energy. Then she would charge after her brother who was still within her sight. Yes, that was a good plan. Now, Anemy had to convince herself to stick to it, and not charge ahead at full speed only to somehow not catch up with Nootau...

Sorry for the wait!

The young dog shook his head so hard his ears flopped. Nootau laughed. "That sounds funny! I will have to see them sometime." He bounced forward with all four feet together like a po-go stick. The male hummed tunelessly for a moment. "Go, go fly away," he sang.

A glint in the moonlight caught his attention. "Look Anemy! The moon has puddled up here!" He ran forward to a small collection of water in the wash. His paws splashed through the water. "It even feels wet. Must of been a knabberjacket."

No worries :3

Anemy was tired out now. Not completely of course, Anemy always had energy to spare; it was simply that she didn't feel like running much anymore. Nootau didn't seem to care for much for the competition aspect of running around chasing each other, so she instead focused on keeping up with her entertaining brother. "What's a knabberjacket?" she asked as she approached him.

He tended to say odd things like that a lot, and most of the time Anemy ignored his pointless phrases; much like the rest of their family tended to do occasionally. It wasn't like she wasn't interested in his odd ways of speaking, she just didn't know if he even knew what those words he said meant. Regardless, Anemy was done with tag for now and "knabberjacket" sounded like a funny, cool, new word she had never heard before.

The male pup gave a long look down his muzzle at his sister for not knowing so obvious a thing. "A knabberjacket, dear sister, looks like a hare but it has horns! They are very vicious. If you encounter one be wary of it." He lifted his paw from the puddle and watched the water drip from his toes.

"Must of been a big one to pull this much moon down." He looked up at the stars. "Do you think so? Surely mommy and daddy already know if something this dangerous is by the pack." Nootau shook his head as if something was hurting his ears. "Yes. No. Make up your minds! How could you not know? You're the ones up there suppose to be watching!" The pup huffed.

"I don't think they've been doing their job and watching for dangerous things. Maybe we should go back Anemy and warn the adults."

A grin found it's way across Anemy's playful face as she looked at her brother. She ran near a rock and made muffled struggling noises as she attempted to hoist herself on top. "Do you think the stars would be jealous if we found the knabberjacket without their help?" Her eyes were filled with determination at catching this make-believe creature. Or was it make believe? She could never tell with Nootau or mom if something was real or if it wasn't.

Her sight wandered to a bug that conveniently happened to land next to her rock on a twig. She crouched down and eyed it intently, all the while continuing to question her brother about these knabberjackets. They had sparked her curiosity, which would not flee easily. "Are they big and strong? Are they really fast?" She pounced at the bug, only to have it flutter away before she could grab it. A brief, disappointed look came across Anemy when she discovered this. She looked over at her brother as she asked her last question though. "Do you think we could catch it?"

Fin?

"Oh most certainly they would. Don't deny it!" Nootau got a puppy pout. "Fine! Deal! We'll prove it." He turned back to his sister with determination. "Um well, not sure how big really or how fast." The pup shook his head. "We have to. C'mon Anemy."

He put his ear to the ground and started walking determinedly. Nootau started mumbling to himself under his breath. So focused on his mission now that he didn't pay attention if Anemy followed him or not.
