Captain badass's story will be explained later on, he is the lone survivor on requiem of infinity 100 years later, during the second crash into requiem 6000 people died, leaving one six year old boy with a teeshirt that said 'spartan 117 2.0' sitting on a pile or rubble. he was going to starve to death if it wasn't for the cryogenic pod he was in he would have died. For twenty years he gathered food and supplies through requiem killing covenant one by one, Like a feral child in a tribal alien cult he began to become creative, like a wolf, lucky to have survived he killed hundreds upon thousands of both covenant soldiers remaining on requiem, but also killing the remaining promethean knights down to the core.
Before the crash it was apparant he was born with the original augmentations of the 'original' spartans. Such as john 117. He was in the womb when the doctors got the remains of the old spartan genes and slowly he was developed in the artificial womb becoming a 6 year old with all of the original augments pre created in his genetics, making absolutely no problems in his birth.
Again, 20 years he gathered knowledge from terminals, slowly becoming more civilized, he was soon found after the distress beacon was repaired and the UNSC pointed him as the new 'director' of Project RF (recovery freelancer)
