"Betty White, actress, comedian and steadfast friend to the animals, is hoping that her fans will take advantage of an offer for a once-in-lifetime opportunity...joining her for a dinner date in Los Angeles, Calif.

On Wednesday, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles, announced that, starting Dec. 3, fans can bid for the amazing opportunity to share an evening at one of Betty’s favorite fine dining restaurants for an intimate dinner.

Bids start at $1,000 and the bidding runs through Dec. 10.

According to the SPCA LA:

You, and three of your closest friends, will join spcaLA’s Friend for life, Betty White and spcaLA President, Madeline Bernstein at one of Betty’s favorite fine dining restaurants for an intimate dinner.

The proceeds from this unique auction will benefit spcaLA's programs and services.

This past April, the 90-year-old television icon was honored by Actors and Others for Animals where she received the first ever "Betty White Inspirational Award" which honors individuals who have inspired public awareness and appreciation for animals, as well as their need for protection and care.

Betty White, a life-long animal lover, is also a board member of the Morris Animal Foundation and holds the position of honorary president."
