Hero alias:
Seraphina, for the biblical Seraphim, 6-winged angels. She chose the name as an allusion to the company sponsoring her, Wings Co.
Real name:
Adelina Taipa
Her great uncle named her Adelina, small winged one, and had her take on the last name Taipa, which means wingspan.
Powers/abilities:
Teleportation via her boots and gauntlets
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Teleportation

Personal Teleportation:
Adelina can teleport her entire body a maximum distance of 10 meters from her current location. This is useful for evading attacks, moving quickly and getting through walls or other obstacles. However, she must have a clear space where she's intending to teleport, or she could crash into something and potentially injure herself, though she doesn't need to see where it is she wants to go. (As a note, she just vanishes and moves when she teleports, there's no flash or cloud or anything like that involved.)

Object Teleportation:
By holding or touching an object, Adelina can teleport it up to 10 meters and use it like a projectile, or drop it on an enemy to hit them. She can't teleport any living objects besides herself yet, and she can't teleport anything that weighs more than herself, though those limitations may be lifted with sufficient upgrades to her tech.

Her equipment right now is pretty sturdy, she probably wouldn't let people shoot lasers or slam a sledgehammer on it but it could take a couple pretty decent hits (like maybe five) from hitting into walls or the floor before she'd need to be concerned that it'd break. She's a bit too flighty to be overly careful with her equipment right now, but as she gets older she'll definitely be more inclined to go to great efforts to make sure it doesn't get damaged.
As she stages up as a superhero, she would get upgrades to her equipment. She'd eventually be able to take other people (or living creatures) with her when she teleports, as well as being able to teleport farther and to teleport objects that weigh more than she does.

Which area is the character based/from:
She was born and raised in Sewit.
Age upon entering academy:
11
How did your character get their powers:
Her great uncle equipped her with boots and gauntlets that allow her to teleport, and teleport other objects.
Motivation for entering academy:
She wanted to show off her great uncle's gadgets and company and keep them from going under.

Strengths:
>Quick thinking Adelina is perfect for high-stress jobs that require you to be both fast on your feet, and in your head.
>She's good at making plans on the fly or thinking outside of the box and has a good sense of creativity.
>She is pretty good at minor mechanics and gadgetries as well, as a result of her upbringing.
>Highly versatile power (can be used to avoid attacks, move fast, etc)
Weaknesses:
>Although she's a fast thinker, sometimes she thinks too fast, and makes rash decisions that aren't properly thought out.
>Adelina can be cocky about her abilities and overestimate herself.
>She has a tendency to have trouble in a team unless she feels she's respected as a member, and though not being the leader is okay, she would highly prefer it.
>If her equipment suffers heavy damage, she has to rely on her own physical abilities until it's fixed.

Personality:

Friendly: Adelina prefers getting along with others to fighting or being harsh. She can be a bit chatty, striking up conversations with random strangers and trying to become their friend. After all, you can never have too many allies! Growing up, she always had to give off good impressions to people, so she's a natural around groups.

Energetic: She's a lively girl, with tons of energy. She loves activities that require you to move around, like sports, and could run for hours before she finally gets sick of it and wants to sit down and relax.

Confident: Adelina is very confident in herself, and her ability to do things. She feels she has a good record of being good at things she does, and isn't afraid to do things in front of a group (she actually kind of enjoys it).

Self-centered: Growing up in her great uncle's company, she was almost the center of his world, so she's come to believe she is the center of most people's worlds and can act accordingly at times. She can be selfish and demanding of people's time and attention.

Short Attention-Span: Adelina probably doesn't mean to ignore you, but if you're boring her she will! She has a habit of having a short attention span and her mind could wander off thinking about other things and not remember anything you said to her. She can get pretty jittery if she's made to stay still in one area for long, too.

Adelina was always surrounded by wings, so she taken a liking to them. She likes going outside to look at birds and airplanes, and really enjoys reading stories about characters with wings, even if they are animals. Adelina loves sports, especially softball and just plain running around, which she'd often do around her great-uncle's company for fun.
Her birthday is October 20th, which makes her a libra.

General backstory:
Adelina's young parents were unwed older teens and didn't have much interest in her when she was born, so her mother gave her child to her uncle Michael, who was the head and scientist of a very up and coming gadgetry company, known as Wings Co. Her uncle took the child in and raised her, with intent that she could be a sort of mascot and model for the company's equipment. Michael was already in his forties and feeling a bit too old to go out and get a wife and have his own children, so he gladly accepted his niece's child into his life. Adelina's mother and father broke up a few years after her birth, and her mother only visits her uncle's company occasionally so she does not see her often.
Michael doted on the child, and let her watch when he demonstrated some of his gadgets, so even from a young age Adelina was exposed to the high technology Sewit has to offer, and engaged in them. Michael invented all kinds of weaponry and super-gadgets that Adelina was a part of, either in modeling or demonstrating for an audience. Her great uncle took on the belief and slogan that his gadgets were so beautifully simple that even a child could learn to use them properly. She didn't go to a proper school, instead being schooled by her great uncle Michael and his co-workers and making peers of the children of company workers.
Adelina's got a few people at the company she admires, mostly the handful of adults who also teach her in their spare time. There's a woman who Adelina sees as a good mother figure, Dr. Martha Dunlap, she works with the nanotech and usually teaches English to her. Dr. Dunlap also has a daughter about Adelina's age that she's friends with, Lucia.
When Adelina was 9, he equipped her with his newest invention, boots and gauntlets that allow the user to teleport themselves and objects short distances. However, Wings Co was starting to suffer from financial difficulties, and Michael was hard pressed to come up with an idea to save his company. Suddenly, Adelina had an idea - why couldn't she become a super hero like the ones on TV, and advertise for him? She brought the idea to him and she was trained in basic combat and combat skills with the teleporting devices, and eventually was given an invitation to the school, which she gladly accepted.

Hi there and congrats Purp! *__*

I just have a few questions about your profile...

Her equipment. How sturdy is it? It's listed in her weaknesses, but I think a little elaboration on that would be great. Such as, does she go to extra lengths to avoid damage and is it a main effort of hers? Will she get upgrades as she stages later? How much more powerful would they get etc?

I'm also wondering about her parents. What did her father think about his wife giving away their kid? If her mom didn't want a child, why not get an abortion? Do they see her at all or act like they never had a child? Does she know about her parents? If she does, how does she feel about them? If she doesn't, does she ever wonder about them? Is there any other important figure in her life besides her uncle, perhaps at the company?

Very curious stuff. :B

Her equipment right now is pretty sturdy, I mean she probably wouldn't let people shoot lasers or slam a sledgehammer on it but it could take a couple pretty decent hits (like maybe five) from hitting into walls or the floor before she'd need to be concerned that it'd break. She's a bit too flighty to be overly careful with her equipment right now, but as she gets older she'll definitely be more inclined to go to great efforts to make sure it doesn't get damaged.
Yes, I was planning on her getting upgrades as she stages! She'd eventually be able to take other people (or living creatures) with her when she teleports, as well as being able to teleport farther and to teleport objects that weigh more than she does.

Her parents were unmarried teens (like 18/19), and it was a mutual decision to give away their child. Her mother didn't want to get an abortion for personal reasons, and her uncle was willing to take her baby since he was unmarried and was feeling a bit old to go out and get a wife and children of his own since he's in his late forties/early fifties, so it worked out for them!
Adelina doesn't see her dad much since she was really little since he's not with her mom anymore (it's been ten years, after all, and they were young). She does see her mom occasionally and she knows that's her mom, but Adelina doesn't feel very close to her.

Great! I like what you've added so far.

Just a few more questions about the tech.
How's it powered? Is it physically taxing for her to use the tech? How possible/likely is it to malfunction?

(Sorry this took so long, I had to think about it! It was a hard question)

It's powered with atomic energy. Other than that, Adelina has no idea the specifics since her uncle keeps his technological secrets under wraps.

It's not physically taxing to use the tech, but it's pretty easy for her to get tired, since using it takes a lot of mental energy to keep track of her body's location in space in relation to her environment and stuff to avoid crashing into things. With her short attention span, this can be a bit of a struggle for her!

It's not exactly easy for it to malfunction easily either, as it's a sturdy piece of equipment. If it got damaged though, it might not go as far or could send her in the wrong direction or something. And if she wasn't careful about her destination or underestimated how far she needed to go, she could actually get stuck in a wall or floor or something, and would need to very quickly move back out. She'd also probably get kinda disoriented from that.

Profile APPROVED

Edit:
I did notice one last tiny thing though, if she doesn't need to see where she's going, isn't it possible for her to teleport into a wall..?

Yeah it is possible! That's why teleporting somewhere unknown can be kinda dangerous. It's better if she can see where she's going.

Thanks for the approval, I'm so excited! emotion_kirakira
