It was usually cooler around the wetlands, though that wasn't always the case. If the Gods willed the days to be clear and sunny, or dreary and wet, that was their will. All anyone could ever do, would be to adapt to it. The cheeton never minded, even on the warmer days, despite the fact that she had a dark pelt. At the very least, she wasn't alone in that department, which was refreshing. Regardless, today the Kansleri for the Koti Kaikille was at the edge of an enclosed stretch of water, taking in the sight and making mental notes. She'd done this before, but it was always good to keep tabs on everything. Natural surrounding changed over time, and that was an important aspect to always remember. Especially since this was one of the areas that was designated to Coalition members to practice their swimming. That had been something Kuu had implemented because the wetlands had the tendency to flood to one degree or another. It was also important for the cubs to learn, and also incase of an attack. Hybrids had their advantages, in varying and practical ways.

Taking slow steps, Leto was still feeling a bit nervous in this new area. She had joined with a cheetah, but she was still coming to grips with the whole 'slave' thing here. He had seemed to be so odd, but so charmingly funny at the same time. It was a little hard to believe that he had been so perfectly fine with going into the slave rank that it had caught Leto off guard. She wasn't sure whether to pity him or not; though she had heard that slaves were usually treated well here.

Here....here was home now, wasn't it? After leaving her birth pride with her father, she hadn't really thought that she'd ever go back to a pride. Not that she held any grudges against them, but it just didn't seem like something that would happen so soon again. But she was glad for it, because of her social personality. And this place was filled with those like her - the 'outcasts' or 'scandalous children' of inter-species breeding. Leto herself had never really been mistreated, but she knew the dangers that existed for others, and was glad that she could be apart of something like this.

Pausing on a dry area, Leto looked around at her new home. It was something to get used to, definitely, but there was nothing wrong with it. The biggest change was probably the amount of swimming she'd be doing from now on. Maybe she should go on another practice run...

Heading over to the area that she had become quite familiar with since joining, Leto spotted a darker figure, one that she had come to recognize as the Kansleri. It was a little nerve-wracking, coming into a one-on-one situation with her, but Leto tried to not let it bother her as she approached.

A black ear swiveled around, as it picked up the sounds of slushy footsteps. She didn't immediately look, because Kuu figured that'd be rude. The fact that she was still mildly preoccupied with engraving details into her mind. After getting in a few good details, light purple eyes glanced over her shoulder and spied an approaching Leopon. Kuu was always amazing at how large leopons always seemed to be. Her father was certainly larger than Kuu and her siblings, and this leopon, though female, was still bigger than her! She'd seen that leopon before, and was sure that she'd come to the Koti with a cheetah slave. A soft smile graced Kuu's masked maw, " Good day to you. "

Flicking her ears up gently as she approached, Leto's mouth dropped open slightly. She was careful not to make too much sound, though that was completely impossible in this terrain. Her eyes were a little wide as the dark cheeton spoke to her; she was a little unsure of how to act. As a cub, Leto would do just whatever she pleased, because her father was so kind and loving towards her. But ever since they left the pride together, she had become a bit unsure of herself.

"Oh, hello." For her size, her voice was surprisingly high-pitched and soft. It had remained that way ever since she was young. "I guess...you must have had some sort of business out here?" Leto wasn't the best at conversations, but she still tried.

Kuu could read the leopons' body language easily, and was hoping that she wasn't intimidating her. Although, as she mused on that, the cheeton wondered how she possibly could? Likely, Kuu mused that the origin was due to rank, rather than anything physical. Which would be silly if the latter was true, considering that the leopon was far larger than the black pelted cheeton. Even though she was a leader for the Koti, Kuu didn't want others to be afraid of her. She didn't want others to fear her, unless they did something wrong. Kuu would rather there be some respect rather than outright fear. She wanted others to be able to be comfortable speaking to her. " More or less. I was merely observing the surrounds, mentally cataloging any changes around the area. This is an important spot, so it is important to take notice of such things. "

"Oh, I see..." Eyes trailing off, Leto's watched a small flow a water as it seeped off somewhere. "This kind of landscape must change fairly often." The leopon wasn't sure if she could imagine such a thing, but with the changing tides, the pieces of land that dotted the wetlands must shift accordingly.

Coming up next to her, Leto slowly sat down, looking over at the cheeton. She was definitely larger than this one; she almost seemed to loom over her as she sat next to her. But Leto had never used her size to intimidate others or promote status. She was actually even larger than normal leopons, due to her mother's added bulk.

"I guess that's something else I'll have to get used to." She looked off; it wasn't anything bad that she needed to get used to, but things would definitely be a bit different from here on out.

Kuu knew this place would shift some, depending on the water levels of the seasons, as well as sediment deposits. Plants, too, had their effect on the land and depending on their placement, this could be good or bad. The efforts to keep track of the changing was so things could be done about it. Especially if it's a nearby tree that i starting to lean. For that situation, there would be several options that could happen. One would be trying to make the tree lean in the opposite direction. Another could be just simply toppling the tree. And still another option would be clumping dirt amongst the roots and keeping tabs on it. Kuu glanced over at the large leopon towering over her. " ..Is there something wrong? "

"Hm? Oh, there's nothing wrong with me." Closing her eyes in a bright smile, Leto was never one to let her doubts or fears bubble up to the surface. She had them, just like anyone else, but she had instilled the belief that she should never let them show within her long ago.

Though right now was probably as close as it would ever come.

She was feeling a bit raw, having just moved homes again, and everything was just...different. It really made her feel a bit vulnerable, but she knew that the change was for the best. Here, she'd always be welcome and safe; that wasn't something that every place could offer.

"But how are you? You must be extremely busy." Opening her eyes again, she looked down at the cheeton with her blue eyes.

The cheeton rolled her shoulders in a dainty motion, " I wouldn't say that I'm too terribly busy right now. " A statement that wasn't quite helpful. Kuu had noticed that at times she could be a little vague, and she never knew where that came from. She didn't quite like it. ..At all. " For the most part, I'm just keeping a mental log of any changes in this area. Since this is one area designated for practicing to swim, it's important to take log of such things. It wouldn't be good for something to happen here. " A true enough fact, especially if an accident occurred with any cubs that may pop up into the Koti Kaikille. although, that would be a bit from now, but there were some fertile hybrids, and a good numbers of purebreds around. So.. maybe it wouldn't be too long before little ones were romping around. " Other than that, this is also a good moment to relax a little. While I have been a tad busy, I try to have some downtime. "

"Ah, yeah." Leto fidgeted on her paws, still not feeling quite completely at ease being here next to this particular cheeton. Something about leaders tended to shake her up a bit more than normal. In her birth pride, things had always been a little odd for her in regards to the pride's leadership, given who her father was. But Leto herself didn't quite understand the mess that went along with all of that.

"Well, maybe you could find a little bit of time for a swim yourself?" Leto smiled shyly, trying to become more acquainted. It's be a nice little break, and then they wouldn't have to focus solely on each other. "How about it?" Taking a step forward, she was hopeful that the Kansleri would take her up on this offer.

Kuu smiled softly at the shy Leopon, and was rather grateful of her offer. While she knew how to swim and had done some herself, but hadn't been able to lately. Which was a shame, because that was how the cheeton even came up with the idea, was while she was splashing around in the waters, as an adolescent. Kuu got off her rump, gave a slight stretch before getting her paws wet while following after Leto. " I wouldn't mind at all. " While the cheeton was the Kansleri, the ledaer of the Koti Kaikille, Kuu wanted to know those in her Coalition. She wanted them to be able to come to her, and not be afraid. She had learned that in other prides, or packs, the Leaders were always feared in some way. This was not something that she wanted to happened. Kuu was here for everyone, and she wanted them to know it.
