My poor little rat ripped his toenail off somehow.

I looked in the cage and there was so much blood compared to my rat.

I don't really know what happened it could have gotten caught on anything. He is doing fine now. I thought his injury was way worse the way he was bleeding. I kind of thought he may have impaled himself on something.


I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide to make sure nothing nasty was in it and I dipped his foot in some flour to coagulate the blood because It wouldn't stop bleeding.

I know! I was like omg omg you're so tiny i feel like you only have so much blood lol.

I was really shocked he sat still while I touched it and stuff.

I tried to harness train one of my rats once, she ripped her toenail out, it bled like a son of a whore lol, she was fine in the end, just watch it, hers grew back crooked, so it never broke off, it would have grown in a full circle and impaled her foot if I didnt clip it now and again.
