Real name: Poe Annabelle Chraely // SA alias; West Torrence

Powers/abilities: Yin/Yang Transformations, greatly influenced by her level of morality or mental health ie. if she is pure of intent her transformation will be into the yang form, if her heart is filled with hate her transformation will be into the yin form. Due to her internal conflicts that arise later in her life, this creates a second voice in her head and eventually a tormenting split personality caused by confusion and makes her powers very unstable and transformation unpredictable. In fact, until most recent events she didn't even know there was a dark form. Later in her development, this dark form will threaten to overtake her. In the end, her true form should be a merged transformation to complete the yin & yang balance.

What does each form entail? The yang form is a white beast with the ability to form shields/barriers for protection, the occasional extension/reach of her hands/tail through the light ability. Control over this form is easily maintained because of the 'good moral' affinity it bears. It gives a sense of spiritual wisdom and enlightenment. Semi-transforming and full-transformation is also possible. The yin form manifests due to her mental state, as it declines she will turn more and more into a nightmare-like shadowy beast losing touch with consciousness. What sort of things can she do in this form? Dark-matter magic, creating forces of power through her claws or other limbs (tail) similar applications of her light form only on the offense. This form can blend into shadows and travel much like one at beastly swiftness. As the progression of this form continues, she becomes entirely wild and feral, uncontrollable with power fueled by rampaging rage. In short, it is a dangerous and undesirable form for a 'hero' in training. As the darkness extends further, she'll lose more and more of her consciousness during this form meaning her actions become unpredictable and none would be safe around her.

In the future, when she reaches her true transformation (which is the combining of the two), she will be able to use the offense and defense abilities alike as it's the Balanced form.

Rookie
She will have minimal access to her Yang form, only capable of full transformation and maintaining it solidly for about fifteen minutes or less depending. Semi-transformation (ie claws/tail only) for a while longer. Her stamina is always drained to the point of collapsing after transforming. (This is due to her lack of spiritual influence in her life, once she can tap into it in the future, maintaining a transformation will be less arduous.) Towards the mid/end of her rookie stage, there will be flits of moments that she notices the change in her transformation, how it isn't completely pure light any more.

Sidekick
This is the stage when all hell breaks loose and she pretty much loses control entirely during transformations into her dark form. Dark form may last anywhere from five minutes to an hour depending on the levels of her rage/emotional state. Granted she has been doing her best to suppress her powers and rely solely on the fighting/defense skills she's been learning, a second voice begins whispering bad things to her. On occasion she may be in her light form and suddenly may switch over, her light form may now stick around for about half an hour with lessing tiring symptoms after as she begins to learn about her history and the spirit world, her connection to it. After dark transformations, she will usually fall unconscious from a day to several depending on the situation; perhaps even hospitalization or containment may be necessary.

How did your character get their powers: Genetic
Motivation for entering academy: After her parents' murders, her steward, in fear for her well-being, persuaded her into reluctantly taking refuge at the Sidekick Academy under an alias. It had been arranged in order to protect/hide her from the conspirators working against her parents. She isn't happy about it, but complied to her steward's wishes because he is one of the only two remaining people she can trust. Initially, he hoped that perhaps through the school she would be able to learn better ways at maintaining her transformation without tiring to such extremes.

Strengths:
Defense - She has picked up defensive training added on to the transformation she's always known of her light form, she is proficient in taking defensive maneuvers. It is her instinct to protect. (Natural knack for defense?)

Physical Strength/Stamina - Thanks to the beast side of her, she has a little extra strength/stamina. As she grows, the beast and her begin to merge and become more interchangeable through emotional highs, usually anger or other fierce/sharp emotions.

Weaknesses:
(Yin Form - This form is pretty much a weakness. It is completely new to her and slowly begins to crop up as she begins her life at SA. She doesn't know how or what it really is and in general there is a lot of uncertainty about it. A major thing being that she lacks control over it and when and how it comes up.

Involuntary - Transforming into her new dark form is often not by choice, brought on by thoughts and her emotional state. Later in her progression it will become somewhat of a choice due to her anger/hate/rage as the mysteries begin to unravel, the conflict that arises.

Rampage - In her dark form, losing consciousness is her greatest weakness. If she is pushed over the edge of anger, she will lose it all; hurting anyone and anything near her which is against her core nature to defend.

Electricity/Water - As eventually will be found out, the best counter to her dark form will be electricity. (Water more of a fear than a weakness only during sidekick stage.)

Confusion - While in her dark form, she is easily susceptible to being confused by words and/or actions that pertain to her vulnerable insecure mental state. In these instances, her initial reaction would be to run away and/or hide.) - These come in later during sidekick stage and into hero stage.

Stamina - As a rookie, she has quite low stamina in terms of maintaining her transformation. Creating barriers or using her abilities at all tires her out easily so she must use them efficiently. She must rely on her defensive fighting skills for the most part, transforming is a last resort type deal. If she can't defeat her opponent in this form, she's done for.

Personality:
Before the Deaths:

A Proper Lady - She was your typical highborn lady; well-mannered, polite, sweet, charming with a dash of elegant refinement. Generally quiet, but willing to playful banter and innocent flirty interactions be it an appropriate time or place. Respectful and knowledgeable, knowing when to speak and when not to. Educated, intelligent and observant yet also warm and inviting. Easily willing and able to blend into the society she was born into.

Innocent - In a world where she only knew the pleasantries of life leaves her naive to lower-class society and ways of life. (Think old style England with their poofy dresses and fancy balls, going hunting for fun, etc. with only the slightest touch of modern with some steampunk thrown in.) Even though she is educated about everything thanks to her royal background, she has yet to really experience it and see what non-wealthy life is like. This doesn't make her unkind however, only caring and curious for the less fortunate. She wants to help, but she has not learned the best ways to do so yet. (Experiences of the outside world meant to humble her and educate her further.)

Firecracker - Though she can be a proper lady, she is always passionate and ready to learn, enthusiastic about life and living to the fullest while also helping her people/community with a little side of cheekiness. However her another of her true passions lies in dance, ballroom dancing to be specific. Given private professional lessons all her life, she is capable of doing any of the classy dances: waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep, samba, jive, you name it she can dance it. This is something she excels at, a natural dancing talent. Though she has not stepped out of the comfort of the ballroom, this hopefully changes after her parents' deaths.

Almost Perfect Student - She may be quiet and a good listener, but leave no doubt she will question sharply things that don't make logical sense. This makes her a bit of a smarty pants sometimes, though not meant in a condescending way usually. Keyword being usually, she may not realize it right away.

After the Deaths:

An Unraveling - Due to the loss of security and stability of her lifestyle, she has become gravely unstable emotionally. Angry and frustrated about losing her parents so suddenly, that imminent feeling of the floor falling from underneath you, has surprisingly created a great desire for vengeance for such an innocent youth. At the same time, it conflicts with her usual loving and carefree nature. The mannerisms bred into her since birth causes a confusion of how she should present herself gracefully while underneath she is fuming with troubles and sadness, unable to show anyone as well as unable to trust anyone. Definite crackings beginning to show, no one ever taught her how to face the murder of those dear to her.

An Outlet - After becoming brooding on the past and present, she has also become extremely hostile about accepting help or comfort or any sort of contact with others. Wanting to much rather be left alone, her way of speaking has become far sharper and harder. Exhibiting an anti-social behavior. Not only does she desire answers for the things that have happened, she has begun to question herself along with everything. Why had she not noticed or foreseen these terrible events? Was she not observant or good enough to tell that there were all these secrets about her family that she hadn't known? What else had her parents been hiding from her? Finding that she had so much fuel for anger and needed a way to blow off steam, she spends much of her time outside of training dancing her classic ballroom style dance. (Though this will likely expand to include hip hop, break dancing and contemporary dance styles if an appropriate partner may be found? Expand that horizon...!)

An Understanding - Without a question she has become untrusting of anyone except her steward and chambermaid, both who have taken care of her since birth. What she needs more than anything now is a steady hand and direction, as she is a lost soul at the moment. Though at the core of her person, she wants nothing more than to help people and others because that was what she's been taught all her life to do... There is an enormous amount of doubt growing in her heart on her abilities, skills and mental state that have created a rift in morality. Wanting payback and pain, wanting answers, wanting the truth. All these dark things for self-satisfaction and a feeling of selfish fulfillment to close the giant gap in her that was formed by the death of her parents.

General backstory:
Born the princess of a small province of northern Upper Sewit, clearly well-to do, Poe was raised in a clean beautiful environment. Perhaps too clean, because when things went sour she was taken entirely by surprise. Groomed to be very conscious of community and issues of the people, she is well-educated in all sorts of manners while also sheltered in high society. She was catered to by her late-forties chambermaid and mid-twenties steward for the majority of her life, the only two people she is able to trust currently.

The death of her parents being unexpected, the understatement of the century, caused a province-wide security lockdown on the princess which basically meant that she needed to 'disappear' for a while. Her steward, who is actually more than just a steward, was left in charge of the state of affairs and decisions. In essence, he now carries the responsibilities of the royal family until Poe is of age to take over and it is his job to protect her until then and after remain as her advisor. A very understanding, intelligent man who cares greatly for the princess's well-being, strongly requested that she hide out at SA and continue to work on her power training and self-defense skills while he settles things back home. Though she was reluctant, she complied because he promised to find answers for her.

While at SA she must maintain an alias and change her look enough that anyone even remotely familiar with the providences of Upper Sewit will be unable to recognize her. Maintaining such appearances should be a doable feat for someone brought up with such manners for masks, but she is still naive to the ways of commoners and people not born in the high class in terms of mannerisms and what's popular and not. Not to mention her unfamiliarity on pop culture and media. This makes her awkward added on to the fact that she is fuming about the loss of her parents and pretty much everything she does know. So many changes at once makes it difficult even for a princess to cope.
