Hero alias: None
Real name: Raven Myrsky
Powers/abilities:
Electricity manipulation:
Users are able to generate and manipulate electricity. Simple effects include the ability to generate electricity, shoot lightning, or overload a circuit. More complex ones include manipulating energy in a person, directing current in a more complex route than the one of least resistance, firing sparks turning off electrical devices, or electrical constructs, may also occur. This power is very effective against Earth Manipulation as electricity can travel through the earth and break it apart.

As a Rookie:
The best Raven can do is give you a powerful static shock if you touch him. In extreme cases he is able and has overloaded a system with electricity this leaves him compliantly drained though.

As a Sidekick:
His little shocks have grown in their strength he can now cause some minor damage to you with them. He is able to generate a small electric shield for protection, but it is very weak and easily back fires on him. Overloading a computer system or security system is not quite as hard as it used to be.

As a Hero:
Shocks are more like strait out lighting bolts, but he can only do a limited amount of strong ones before it wears him out. Shield now works properly but it still has a limited time before it will burst or drain him of his energy.
Same on the overloading systems and such. He can now create a lightning Tether to pull himself toward something or to pull things toward them.

Which area is the character based/from: Ronth
Age upon entering academy: 15
How did your character get their powers: Raven was born with it. The Myrsky family line notorious passes down the power of either electricity manipulation or fire manipulation. It normally skips a generation as to what power a child is born with. Or sometimes a child can be born with no power what so ever. The original origins of the power entering the family line is unknown, but something the Myrsky's are constantly researching.
Motivation for entering academy:
Tired of the pain and suffering he has seen even in his short life Raven wishes to make amends for the things his family has done. Maybe even put a stop his his family and any others like them. He wishes to learn the other side of what one can do with powers.
Strengths: Lighting storms: Sometimes storms affect his power in a good way, Is quick on his feet having been trained for quick escapes.
Weaknesses: Lighting storms: Sometimes storms can affect his powers in a bad way. Hates getting wet or being near a lot of metal. Horrid at keeping control when upset in some way.
Personality:

Current:
Many things go into why Raven acts the way he does. But the major ones are as follows: The way his family raised him. Because of the scars his grandfather left on his face and voice. The way he ended up on the streets at a young age. And his failed attempt to be a hero on his own resulting in him being hospitalized before ending up at the academy.

Paranoid:
Coming from a family of well known villains Raven automatically think people know his back ground and wont like him because of it. In Ronth the Myrsky's are well known they are respected and yet hated at the same time. Raven got to see what it was to be a Myrsky's outside the protective walls of the family estate for awhile until he ran for Crantel. Besides the extra of being from that family living on the street can make one very paranoid as well.

Shy:
The Myrsky's kept to themselves no one else could be trusted. So for the most part Raven's only friends were his sisters and his grandmother. His scars and they way the accident changed his voice also plays a role in why he is shy. He is embarrassed about the way it sounds so tries not to speak unless he is sure you wont make fun of him. While this isn't so back in groups of up to three, four or more people makes him withdraw more and become the silent guy in the corner nodding his head in agreement.

Trust Issues:
Raven is desperately trying to get out of this and he is getting better and better everyday. Its hard when you've been told your entire life that the only person to could trust was your family, only to have your family turn on you. In this way Raven first taught there was no one in the world he could trust. This is why he never went looking for help when he ended up on the streets in the first place. I want him in the future to become to trusting again possibly be betrayed once more.

Easily Attached:
If you don't want a friend for life do not reach out to Raven. Once he considers you a friend ((IE: gets passed his trust issues)) you wont easily get rid of him. He tends to follow you around like a lost puppy dog. This comes from not having anyone to turn to right now. Though there are parts of his family that still loves him he can not get to them. So he is looking to make his friends his new family.

Passionate:
About everything he does! There is no half arsing from Raven even if its for the simplest of things. He does everything like he has something to prove.

Selfless:
Raven dedicated his life to others believing he solely needs to make up for the misdeeds of his family. Everyone's life is more precious then his, this counts even as far as villains are concerned.
((Only time this flies out the window is when the Grandfather is involved see Anger below))

Anger:
It didn't just go away its been swallowed. In the chance that he comes face to face with his family ((grandfather, father, brother, some sisters)) he will loose it. Every little rule of conduct he should follow will be lost and he is likely to try and kill his Grandfather or be killed trying to.

Before he left his family:

Angry:
Raven hated his life and wished to be more like his grandmother wanted him to be. His father though pushed him to be more like his older brother Xander. To follow in the foot steps of the men before him. Raven hated being forced to help with the deeds a mafia family would run into. He hated seeing the suffering it caused people. It was his anger that fueled him to say he wasn't going to do it anymore.

Withdrawn:
Till the anger took over Raven quietly followed orders. When at home he often hid with his sister Piper and spent lots of time with his grandmother. Raven did not have many friends and all the Myrsky children were home schooled so there wasn't much interaction with others.

General backstory:
Lets start with the Myrsky's are not heros, but they are very wealthy. They run a family organized mafia in Ronth. Raven grew up around violence and broken lives. He has seen more then any young boy should, but instead of taking to his training and following orders. He hated it all and one day he could no longer continue with this life. Raven defied the orders from his father and grandfather as he set a man free that the family had been holding as leverage. And though Raven's father protested his grandfather viewed this as unforgivable a betrayal to the family and the business that could not be ignored. Neil argued that the boy had just made a slip that it was all the words Vivian kept feeding him that lead him to act out of turn. Raven retorted that it was no slip and that he would never follow his Grandfathers orders again. Raven's rage even fueled him to say he would stop them from hurting people and ruining lives and much as possible from then on. In Alexander's eyes this was a good as disowning the family and in a fit of rage he hurled a fire ball strait at Raven's face. Raven managed to get to his feet and run as his father shielded his from his grandfather's rage. He heard his grandfather shout a threat of death should he return. There was no going back to his home, his sisters, his grandmother. He knew that even though his father had spared him from his grandfather's rage he would not really wish to see him again either. And further down the line there would be no mercy seen from Xander. So he was on his own now and possibly forever in his mind.

There weren't to many places willing to take a disowned Myrsky in, so Raven found himself on the streets of Ronth. He kind only minor kindness from a doctor that treated his wound for free. His only source of food was the trash just like the other jobless citizens of Ronth. He tried to get a job anywhere, but no one wanted to hire him because of his family ties and his age.

Raven decided it would be best for him to leave Ronth and go some where they did not know his name or face so well. He sneaked onto the first transport he could not caring where it was going. Raven found himself in Crantel and made moves to get a simple job unloading things at the docks. They didn't know him and couldn't care less about his age. He worked for cheap and that was all that mattered. It still was not enough to find a place to live but at least he wasn't eating from the trash any longer. He was sure with time he could find another better job.

It wasn't till one fateful day was he reminded of his powers and how he could used them to help rather then harm. He was witness to a hero and villain fight, while others ran to get out of the way. Raven stood and watched as the hero saved the day. Raven felt excited for the first time, how could he become a hero? How could he help rather then hurt people. He had only been taught one side of what one could do with their powers.

*note would like to actually find a hero from him to witness and possibly idolize.

Well of course Raven did not know that there was such thing as the SA, and finding a hero to team up with him seemed unlikely. So the only logical thing to do was use the training he had and just become a hero. Easy as that right?

An opportunity finally presented itself when a crime unfolded in front of him. Three men were robbing a bank, Raven jumped in with not much taught in it at all. Before they got back to their car he used his powers to over juice the battery till it would no longer work. Well that was it for his powers so all that was left was his hand to hand. He went after the men as the came out of the store managing to take one out. But as he rounded the corner to chase the other two he was loud bang. He had been shot by one of the thugs. He fell back hard and blanked out.

When he woke he realized he was in the hospital and knew how foolish he had been to try that. He was no super hero he was nothing but a joke. A joke that now had significant hospital bills. Though luckily the bank had decided to help since he got hurt trying to help them and it was all over the news. This felt like the lowest he had ever been, his dream of being able to do something good for once had been shot down literally.

It was then that one of the nurses came by and dropped off a letter for Raven. He was confused at first sure it wasn't for him, after all there was no one that would send him a letter. After the nurse left he opened it and could not believe what he was reading. There was something called a sidekick academy and he was being invited to attend?! He quickly memorized the instructions as the letter told him the ink vanishing as he did. By the time he was done reading it was a blank piece of paper. He was shocked and wondered who had decided to contact him. Raven felt some slight fear thinking about the bullet hitting him and how being a hero was something that was dangerous. The he remembered words from his grandmother, it gave him courage. He vowed then and there that he would do everything who could to protect those that couldn't protect themselves from people like the thugs or his family. Even if it could mean his life was on the line it was less important then that of many. He would attend the academy and learn all he could from them and one day be a hero of his own right.

Looks department:
A bit frumpy looking he does his best to stay clean but at least at first he is living on the streets. He is lean almost ridiculously so he might bulk up later, but for now he looks like you could snap him easily. Pale skinned with black hair though he has dyed some of it blue. Yellow eyes or rather eye after his grandfather got through with him. Half of his face is burned including the side of his mouth. It just his voice to a raspy tone so he prefers not to speak fearing people will make fun of him. Since his name and powers are known by most people in Ronth at least he does not bother with a secret identity. But his burnt face stays covered at all times and tends to stay with black and blue color schemes if possible.

More That you could know about Raven:

Hobbies:
Coming from a wealthy family that spent most of its times at home. The arts were a common past time of the Myrsky's. Anything from dance, music, and painting though there were some that were more for the male side of the family and some meant for the females. Against his father's wishes Raven took up dancing. Everyday after Piper had her private lessons she would find Raven and taught him what she learned. It was one of the few things he really enjoyed.

On the other hand Raven was encouraged to play an instrument. Raven took to the violin right away, later on getting an electric one to get a different sound from it. He even found with time he could power it himself as he played. His skill in this was the one thing his father approved of which did make Raven happy. I would love for him to get his hands on a violin again one day he sorely misses it.

Sexuality:
Homosexual
Raven is very much on the down low about this, he has issues talking to people most of the time much less telling them that he is gay. No not even his family knew about this he was to young at the time to know fully himself, still doesn't know completely but he does know there is something different about him.

Likes:
Cupcakes! He loves them so much and will about squeal to his embarrassment over them. Raven also loves music mostly of a classical nature.

Dislikes:
His appearance specially concerning his half burned face

Other training:
Decent amount of training on self defense out side of using the powers. He is not a kung fu master or something like that but he can throw a punch or run for his life.

Knows way to much about security systems it was normally his job to shut them down and play look out when he was younger. With this comes a decent knowledge in computers. Again he is no genius but he might know above average.

More about his Family Life:
The Myrsky's are a very large family. To start Raven had an older brother by the name of Xander, his older brother was his Grandfather's ((Alexander)) favorite. He did what he was told taking dirty deeds as though he enjoyed them. Raven also have four younger sisters by the name of Piper, Lilly, Alexandria, and Tallia. His relationships with his sisters varied from protective of them wanting nothing to do with some of them. Piper was closest to him though, together they enjoyed many things, one of which the Raven's father (( Neil)) did not approve of, which was dancing. Having so many sisters really affected the gentleness of Raven versus his brother Xander who often acted like he cared not for the rest of his family. There was also Raven's mother ((Tiena)) to speak of while she cared for Raven she was far more worried about her daughters and how they would turn out. She figured boys could hold their own and didn't need much help. At least that's how it have been with Xander. Most important of all was Raven's Grandmother ((Vivian)) she was the light of Raven's life. She was nothing like her husband and sometimes Raven wondered if there was any real love there at all. Vivian had an arranged marriage with Alexander, she had had no choice but to marry him. She didn't approve of the life style and did everything she could to teach the kids willing to learn that there was more to life then what had been presented to them. That everyone in this world means something not just the family. She taught that life was a precious gift no matter who's gift it was and it shouldn't be snuffed out so lightly. These teaching took to Raven and he couldn't easily shake them, even though he was being thrown into a life of crime.

Hello!

I'll just get right into crit then.
I like how you broke down what sort of things he can do during each of his stages, that gives a clear idea for RPing purposes!

And just a little note on the age, rookies limit is 16 max and there has to be a really good reason. And so far, I don't think you've fleshed it out enough to really have a solid reason for being 17 yet. Just something to consider also is that most rookies are closer to 13-14 in current rookies.

Definitely think you need to flesh out the bit about his personality. How is he socially awkward? What exactly does he do in crowds that makes him so?
Why does he automatically think people hate him?
What scares him?
If he grew up in a mafia, how did he develop this sweet/caring side of him?

Growing up the way that he did, was no one on his side? What about his mother? Did he have siblings or any friends? Basically being the prince of this mafia, isn't there special treatment or attention that comes with the title, body guards and special schooling and things like that?
And how is it so black and white that only Raven stuck out against his grandfather and everyone else will simply do as their told? Were there other cases like Raven's? Wouldn't the mafia kill off members that tried to leave?

Some of his personality doesn't really add up with his background history either. If he had enough guts to stand up to the top dog of his mafia group and his very own grandfather, a person that has every single one of his syndicate fearing what he's capable of, what could scare a boy like him or make him fearful of what people think of him?
Clearly a strong sense of justice or compassion, but it's not making much sense with his other traits. Or just needs more explaining...? I'm not sure.

I think that him being gay could play a great part in his relationship with his family. Which leaves another question, did he trust anyone in his family? I think explaining his family relationships would be a great help in general on clarifying the type of character he is.

That's all I can think of so far.
It's a good start but needs a lot more finesse! I'm excited to see his progress!
Good luck! : D

Crit time!

Hero Alias: Obviously I'm not saying you -have- to have one, but is he going to go by his name as a rookie and will he get one when he reaches sidekick stage?
This is just out of curiosity.
Although it does make me think that he could easily be in an RP that him and someone else sit down and try to think of names for him. But that is just my brain wandering, back to crits. Lol.

Reason for entering Academy: I like his reason, it fits really nicely. However, I feel like maybe you could explain more about his family here. When I read it I had no idea what his family did that would make him want to leave. Possibly adding in that they are a mob family or something would be nice.

Personality: Is very bare. I get his personality traits from it, but they need to be explained better.
How much does his social awkwardness affect him in crowds? How many people does it take to make it a crowd? Why does it not affect him with small amounts of people? Does he just feel more confident in that part?
Is there a reason he is social awkward? Like growing up, did he always get made fun of for his ideas when in large groups or has he always been this way?
Why does he assume everyone hates him? Is it just because he lacks self confidence or has he had a lot of experiences with everyone actually hating him? He comes off as a pessimistic, like he always expects the worst out of things and people. Maybe that could be one of his traits as well.
What types of things scare him? Does he get scared a lot and if he does, does he show it or hide the fact that he is frightened?
Does he always try to turn his friends into his family? Does he attach himself to them more than he probably should? Is he ever scared that he will cling to tightly and they will disappear, if he does cling at all?

Those are just some things to think on to help add in to his personality.

History: I won't crit on this yet since you are working on it.
You should probably just look at the journals or something to find the people who are already Heroes. From there you could just PM the person and ask i fit was alright for Raven to have seen them do something.

Maybe an idea isn't that he went back with them, but he was so inspired he tried to be a hero and ended up getting hurt or something, or causing trouble on accident and not doing what he needed. He could have been on the news and easily received a letter that invited him to SA and he memorized it's directions before the letter disappeared some how, cause SA is secretive and all. Then he managed to find his way to the Academy. Just some thoughts. ^.^

Extra stuff: His hobbies seem to come out of no where, maybe you could incorporate them into his history some.

Hopefully this helps some. c:

He may never have one. But Im gonna leave it up to rp, but he doesn't really feel like he can hide either way he always has the mask on because of the scars on his face

Its in his history why he left but I will elaborate on it more for sure Im just horrid at remembering to type everything out XD

Ok Ill work on it personality is hard though sometimes I like to work it out in rp rather then knowing everything from the start Ill go back and redo it using the Lilium break down on personality code

wow I really like that idea about him just skipping trying to find a hero and trying to be one on his own, maybe he can end up and the hospital because of it and that will scare him more

The dancing is at least mentioned in with his family info, but I will elaborate more since I was assuming people would know his family surrounded themselves with finer life stuff because they are rich so this will help me define it more

Thankies so much for your crit it really helps =D

alright this looks like a fancy quest! Shnazz and lay have actually given some pretty good crits so if you have all those figured out, that'd be awesome 8Db

I just have a couple of questions more for ya

How did he turn out so unlike the rest of his cold, hard and unfeeling family? How is he so... good, and righteous? Was there a trigger? Did he see something or someone? I understand he has his grandmother, but is she the sole influence? Does he spend a lot of time together with her?

Lay is right about the nature of the family business. It can be vague if you like of course, but it'll help us understand Raven better if we knew what sort of life he was living at home. How much violence is he exposed to at home? What sort of things does his grandfather and father make him do?

I'm also curious about his sisters, Piper especially since you mentioned he's closest to her. What part do they play in the family, if any at all? Is Piper unhappy at home? How does Raven feel about leaving her behind?
