An area where the lowest of the demons dwell...

Most of the area below the city where its... waste flows is too small and cramped for anything human sized to make its way around. However a tunnel network has been added onto all the bigger sections as well as the numerous storm drains that populate the city. No one knows who made these, they're clearly different from the city.



Some sections seem to be dug out with basic tools, others by claws. But the vast majority seems almost as if it was melted into existance. Those with senses for such things can still feel the traces of the magic that was used in these areas, especially radiating from strange symbols that periodically appear throughout the tunnels.

The tunnels are used as a quick means of travel by those who don't mind the decrepit state of the tunnels, as well as the smell of the ones that open into the actual sewers. There are also caverns built into parts of it, from just enough to comfortably hold ten average humans to huge ones big enough for thousands. Though the tunnels were clearly built for a purpose, and some of the bigger rooms almost seem to have once had some religious significance, the area is nothing more than a home for the lowest of the demons that have somehow made it to earth or those who desperately need to hide...

Veral dropped into the tunnels with a sneer on his face looking at the old stone about him with distaste. His legs bent slightly from the impact, but he was careful to keep his knees from touching the dirty ground. He stood, having plenty of room for his tall frame, and took a moment to look back up where he'd come from. A small beacon of light was all that showed of the world above ground. A skinny ladder of metal made its way back up to the surface, somehow rust free. Whether this was one of the many mysteries of the tunnels or due to the weaker inhabitants that needed such means to come and go, Veral did not care.

He stalked into the darkness before him, unconcerned as it enveloped him. He could see fine in the pitch black if he needed to and there was no need even for that here. Occasionally pale spots of light appeared as cryptic markings faintly flickered in and out on the walls. Veral looked at them with slight distaste as he passed. It seemed the original reason for these tunnels had been abandoned or the makers destroyed. He knew if they'd been here surely they would never have let such lowly vermin inhabit their workings. If they did ever return to finish what they were doing here, his would lose his current little play box.

He continued walking, controlling the wind around him to carry any noise he made back the direction he came. He did not want his presence announced. The tunnel began to widen and he knew he was near his destination. He slowed his pace to creep forward until he was at the mouth of a cavern. Little green goblins hopped around chattering in their native language as they played with various prizes they'd taken from Takeru's home. Veral's eyes lit in anger and with a hiss he pushed the wind forward to swirl around the cavern with a roar. Before the goblins even knew what was happening, the exits were sealed off by a deadly wind that would slice through them if they dared to try and escape that way. When Veral stepped through into the cavern eyes aglow and claws beginning to emerge, one goblin did just that. It barely screamed before it was cut to pieces in a splattering of blood and goblin bits. All its fellows that had been considering the same move immediately stopped and stood quivering as they awaited their punishment.

"So I find that not only did you kill the girl's parents but you had the audacity to take trophies? And then even thought you could hide from me! We have a serious problem here my friends... One I think I will be quick to fix." His glowing eyes locked on the goblin's leader who gulped and looked for support from his fellows. Twitching he looked about scratching his head in desperation for anything that could appease the Lord Veral.

Veral emerged from the cavern leaving the pathetic wastes of life behind him in various states, from sniveling to dead. With a sneer he wiped the blood splattered on his hand on some cloth he'd ripped off one of the goblins he'd killed. He hadn't decimated them, but he'd killed enough in gruesome and torturous ways to make sure those he'd let live would follow his orders to the dot from now on.

He tossed the bloody cloth to the side once he'd wiped himself off completely and traveled through the tunnels. He took different ones than he'd come in, heading to a different section of town. It may not have been the most direct path compared to traveling on the surface but it beat risking having to explain any red splattering he may have missed. Finally he reached his destination, a long ladder climbing into a darkness above. He began the climb, pulling himself up rung by rung until he reached the top of the tunnel. He held his hand up against the cold metal for a moment and a clicking noise sounded out above him. With a small push he lifted the cover and climbed up and out. It was a simple essence spell he'd bought from a local witch, but it ensured only his hand could open this door.
