There were nights when, no matter how tired she was or how many herbs she forced herself to swallow, Eigyr simply couldn't sleep. And on those nights she often found herself wandering the edges of safe territory, looking out on those clandestine meetings one could never find in daylight. She was rarely accosted, those that met in such secrecy would often need her sort of help, and word had gotten around that she might simply abandon them if put under enough stress. She did have that option.

It was an option she found herself considering more and more. She enjoyed what she did, to be sure, but not always the company she found herself in. Her family seemed to feel the same, they had been so angry with her when they'd heard she had turned down a post in the castle to remain among the rabble. And to be sure her clientele didn't like or respect her, they only needed her. And some day they might not need her, and if that day were to come she shuddered to think what sort of protections she would lose. A Toka among the druids, even one attempting to help, wasn't very welcome. And it didn't help her case that she was finding it harder to veil her distaste. The families were alright for the most part, but the strays were seemingly getting more and more agitated under the King's rule.
