Umut bint Canan was a rational lioness, she liked to think. So why did she still mourn? Perhaps the wounds to her heart were still too fresh. The two-tone lioness let out a sigh, finding a shaded spot to collapse and relax. They still weren't sending her out yet, because her sons were still juveniles. She needed to be able to take care of them yet. It was just as well to her, she was tired of the fighting. It had claimed her parents, her mate, her mate's parents... She closed her eyes, fighting back tears of sorrow, before the scent of one of her sons reached her nose. She kept her eyes closed, smiling a bit to herself. She had to remain strong, for her sons. They were her world now, above even the other Burkuteshti lions. When she was strong, it was for them to not see a broken lioness.

"Of course!" She reached over, wanting to pull Aqil close. "Come here, you, you're already impressing this lady!" She couldn't help but marvel, really, about how fast some cubs could grow up. It seemed like only yesterday, her boys were just tiny cubs, new to the world and innocent yet about the ways of the pride and their opponents. Their father had been so proud... She swallowed back her sadness, keeping on the happy face for her big brave boys. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Umut decided she'd probably never take another mate, so she'd never have to bring any more cubs into this world of negativity. Sure, she could LEAVE... But she loved her pride too much to do that. "Isn't it getting close to bath time, Aqil?"
