[JRP] Ernine'Imogen x Fio: Journey Home?

[Tara de Draiocht]

The faint touch of wind brushed across her face and oh how she welcomed it. The weather had been getting hotter recently and it was making her some what short on temper. Not only that the weather was making her fur...wet. She wrinkled her nose and pinkyred eyes surved the land. It sure wasn't the rogue lands which made her curious as to where she was now. Silver fur sprinkled as she turned her head this way and that.

"Well, nothin' will get done with me just standing about," A faint accent rang in voice. "I hope there is someone about that will be willin' to help a stranger." It didn't look like a bad sort of place, and quite frankly she was tired of wandering around with no purpose.

Aw was his normal routine, Fio was out and about eyes wide with no particular interest.. Normally when he was this far from his new 'spot' he was on the job. But today he was doing some personal time, if he happened to find something of interest he did, and if not well - what a bummer. He smiled as he thought about his spot, wondering if perhaps Scatha were there. He really liked spending time with her, but women would just hold him back. He couldn't waste time being a love drunk fool.

Trying to shake his head clear, a soft accented voice caught his ears. He quickly sprang to attention, doing the exact opposite of what he had just been thinking about. She needed help? He supposed he could help with that - Its not like he had anything else on his schedule. Looking up, he realized he'd been so lost in his thoughts, that a few more minutes of thinking would have had been bump right into her! Fio cleared his throat lightly, attempting to take on a more gentle tone..

"That depends on what that stranger needs.." He pronounced, taking a few steps closer. "I mean, if you need help jumping off a cliff or something, well i'm sorry but you're on your own." He laughed at his own dry joke, and waited for a reply.

Erinine jolted at not only the male that appeared before her so quickly but his voice as well. Her one eyebrow rose at the joke and her lips twitched in a small smile. "Sadly, no cliffjumpin' today luv." Erinine took in his appearance which was sort of feminine. "You have a lovely pink on ya." She switched the topic again. "Actually, I'm wonderin' where I got meself the land doesn't look familiar t'all. It's not too bad 'round here mind and I'm curious 'bout how one ... gets accepted as it were into such a pride. Well that is if this is a pride and not another part of rogue lands, which is a huge land area." She titled her head and narrowed her eyes as she took in the other. Erinine was a very good judge of character and something about this fellow didn't seem to scream out bad, so she decided to introduce herself. "The names Erinine'Imogen, nice to be meetin' ya."

Fio attempted to raise a paw and hide the smirk that was now widening across his maw. Obviously he failed, and as a gentleman he nodded his head in a slight apology. Her accent was odd, something he'd never heard before. But perhaps he just hadn't traveled enough to find that particular accent's domain. "Well then i'm the guy for you!" He boasted, trying his best to ignore her pink comment. He was proud of his fur, the way he could wear such feminine colors - it drastically changed the views others placed on him.

Clearing his throat he patted his paw on the ground, "Well you're actually in the Tokakinji. No more rogue lands for you. But if you were to walk a bit longer in that-" Fio pointed to his left with his front paw before continuing, "You could easily find yourself back there!" He smiled cautiously more and more intrigued by her accent the more she went on. Well I would say that in order to join you would have to get approval from the King and his Queen. They're actually close in our borders if you would like, I could lead up to a certain point, after that it will be up to you" He nodded in the direction of the dens and continued. "I'm Fiorello, it's quite a pleasure to meet you Erinine? Such a unique name..."

"Wonderrrful~! Thanks for the help lad!" She boomed out enthusiastically. "The Tokakinji you say huh?" Erinine looked to the area in which the male gestured. "The King and Queen you say hmmm? Well then no time like the present~ Let's shake a leg on it boyo~!" She grinned. "Fiorello~ Nice name that, a fine name to be sure! And thank ya, my name means 'Iron Maiden' and I have so much to learn of this land. I wonder what jobs are available... Bah, look at me gettin' a head of meself already~!"

Erinine stood and waited for the other male to start on their journey to visit the royalty. "Sooo, is there anythin' I should be watchin' out fer? I don' want to step on anyone's wee toes you knew."

Try as he might he simply couldn't get over her accent! It was driving him mad that something as unique as her voice could not bottled up and hoarded away! OK - that was a little creepy, but he couldn't help it. He had a thing for the intriguing and this female was definitely just that. "Right then, let's get to it!" He chuckled, taking the lead ahead of her and pacing his steps so as to have more time to indulge in her voice. "Yes, I do quite enjoy my name, I find it kind of intoxicating .. maybe that isn't the right word." He shrugged his shoulders and continued, "Though your name sounds more menacing to me..." Playfully he paused and narrowed his eyes at the female, "You aren't here to make trouble? Are you my Iron Maiden?"

She smiled in amusement as he started off with out her and she sped up her pace to walk side to side with him. "Intoxicatin' huh?" She snorted which lead to a fill blown laugh. "Menacin'? I suppose I can be." She raised her eyebrow playfully. "Though tha' depends on the circumstances luv." Her eyes widened at the 'my' business and fluttered her eye lashes at him. It was all in good harmless fun. "Do I look like I would do something like tha'?" She spoke all innocently all the while following him to where she needed to go. She was a bit nervious about that, meeting a king and queen, meeting royalty could be... and not only that but acceptance. Her future here depended on it and she really didn't feel like traveling else where, it took too much time and energy.

"Well from experience i've learned to never judge a book by its cover. But if you were to ask me to, I would say you could be quite menacing. Your pelt would easily allow for you to be an evening menace..." He broke free of his conversation, and began to chortle lightly. "I'm sorry my dear, I don't get many opportunities to pull one's leg. Thank you for being a good sport of it." He flung a smile her way, with a quick wink.

"Now to get back to your original question, there are a few things you should watch for. Though I imagine the King and Queen will explain them to you should you choose to stay. This pride is divided among itself, and there is more than little prejudice to go around. Personally I stay out of it, my business goes much smoother when you don't discriminate." Fio paused thinking of exactly what other specifics she should know of. "The Queen was expecting a litter when I left. As I am just now returning I am unsure of her current status, though I assume she is going to pop soon." Another dry joke, another self pitying laugh.

"As I have described it, we sound like a tough crowd. But truly we aren't, especially those of us who don't judge based on lines. But I guess you'll learn that for yourself soon enough."

"Oh," She found herself chuckling a little and sticking out her tongue. "Yeah, yeah you cheeky bugger." She spoke lightly, teasingly. "O'course life would be borin' without a wee bit of fun." Erinine nodded as she continued to listen to her male friend? acquintance? advice. "Alright, I suppose I should be gettin' on my way then and seein' this royalty for meself. And awwe wee babin's that's always a lovely thing to experience." She paused and bowed a little bit in respect. "I wanna thank you for this wee chat of ours, it has been most helpful and fun. I'm not one to spend much time in social situations, but this wasn't bad t'all. Unless you wanna follow me there a wee bit for acceptance but I understand if you are busy with other such things."

Fio bowed gracefully to Ernine, his mane falling in strands over his face. "Its my pleasure, there's many a dull moment here but to meet a new face is quite an experience." Arising from his bow he smiled her way and listened as she continued.

"Social experiences aren't exactly my strong point either. I'm much more a solitary figure. But I would be more than glad to escort your menacing self as far as I am allowed. After all, there's not exactly anyone here waiting on my return." Laughing slightly, he nodded towards Ernine indicating for her to take the lead. "Wouldn't want you getting into trouble on your first day now would we?"

Erin found herself laughing. This male certainly was a charming fellow and that made him interesting. "Why thank you," She moved forward and expected him to follow her lead. "I'm looking forward to getting into trouble." She winked, cheeky as all-get-out. "Come one then and let's while the day together." She and her companion wandered off into the distance chatting about future possibilities.
