[ORP] Music All Around

[Zasshurou]

Rinya sat on the bed of his new room, surveying his new home with a critical eye. Even having been awake for a few days now, it was still strange.
He ran his hand over the bedspread, feeling the texture of the woven strands slither across his palm.
The ambient buzz of the ship provided the outline for a tune he hummed wordlessly as he stood up and paced the room, running his hand over the chair and desk.

After awakening, he had been so confused and more than a little distraught at being tossed into the world so suddenly. The Operator... he couldn't recall if he had seen him, but surely he must've.
Shaking his head, he admitted he couldn't remember.
He had been so anxious to find a place of his own to curl up in and let his mind slow down and acclimate.
But now after his self-imposed exile, he felt restless and ready to explore.
He just didn't know where to begin.

'A library... there is one on this floor. I think... That's why I picked it.'

He moved to the door, but hesitated.
Since awakening he hadn't seen anyone else (the possible encounter with The Operator notwithstanding), though he knew there must be others here.
If he went outside the room, he might run into them...
But he was so bored!

Steeling himself, he exited his room and carefully crept down the hallway, past the training rooms and towards the library.
His stealth would have been laudable... had he remembered to stop humming.

Slven had been in the training room when a strange hum had drawn him out towards the door. It was a sweet sounding, sound and it reminded him of Mother. Mother's hum was soothing and helped him sleep when he was but a seed, he still remembered the lullaby and often times thought of it while laying in his bed waiting for sleep. A peach hand gripped the frame of the door as a raven head peeked out from the training room, turning this was and that before catching the back of a green jumpsuit. Green ?

Slven hadn't seen a green suited genome before and he didn't have much time to inspect the other now, considering the humming figure had slipped on down the hall towards the library. Heading back into the train room he wrapped up what he was working on before grabbing a towel to wipe himself down of sweat. While wiping himself off he started in the direction the other had went, walking a little faster than normal to catch up. Slven while he wasn't in your face friendly he was a curious boy so...he had to find out about the other.

"Hello there..." He called out to the figure up ahead hoping the other would pause.

At the sound of the voice, the humming stuttered, and the figure half-turned with wide-eyes. Oh no. He'd been caught.
His humming trailed off, while he inwardly gave himself a stern "I told you so" about leaving his room. He eyed the other genome, wondering if he could still make it back to his room.
He'd have to walk right past the other child, and it wasn't like he could make a mad dash to the library. That would be mean... and Rinya wasn't mean.
'No... I have to talk sometime...'

The purple-haired genome raised one hand and gave a weak, half-bow, "Uh... Hello... Umm... Who are you?"
While speaking, he couldn't hum naturally, so instead the fingers of his free hand seemed to be carrying on the tune, tapping against his leg. And even without the humming, his words seemed to have an odd intonation that followed the tune as well. Not quite singing, but noticeable.

Amber orbs curiously watched as the purple haired child before him gave a rather weak greeting. Hm, perhaps he is shy judging by the body language Slven had made this hypothesis. Picking the pace up a bit he managed to close the distance between the two of them. Pausing he tilted his head, eyes of course drawn to the motion of the others fingers and ears twitching somewhat at picking up the odd tone of the others voice. Interesting.

"..Slven, I am Slven.." He would allow the other to know his name but in return he looked expectantly at the other awaiting his, "..and you are?" other than rather strange? The raven rubbed over the exposed part of his shoulder it was still hard for him to keep a good conversation, though he was a lot better than he had previously been thanks to encounters with more of the children. "What were you humming?..I liked the sound of it." Slven boldly admitted and questioned the other, determined to find out.

Rinya flinched as the other drew near, but held his ground, much to his own surprise. This person didn't look so scary...
At his introduction, Rinya gave another weak smile, "I was named Rinya," pause, "It is... nice to meet you Slven."

At Slven's inquiry into the music, Rinya's eyes widened slightly and his tapping paused. Someone had heard him? How embarrassing!
But... He said he liked it.

His tapping resumed, and he gave a slightly warmer smile. With his free hand he pointed up at the ceiling, "It's the song of the ship, and of Mother!"
After a moment, he looked uncertain, "Doesn't... Doesn't everyone hear it?"

The flinch cause a spark of interest to flare up in Slven, something a little off in the boy was pleased with the idea of possibly being intimidating it would seem. His eyes stayed level with the other boys listening to his introduction a half smile forming as he responded to the name with a repeat of it, "Rinya.." It seemed to roll off the tongue a lot better than some of the other children's names around here.

He didn't bother to say it was nice to meet the other boy because for the moment he wasn't sure it was nice to meet him. It was interesting? Perhaps he should say that? Or curious? Slven shook his head softly leaving it where it was and taking yet another step towards Rinya as his eyes widened and the tapping of his fingers stopped. "Why..?" Why would he stop, Slven just told him he liked it did he not? The raven's lips curled into an unamused frown for a moment though that frown quickly faded when the other resumed his tapping and smiled at him.

Much better.

Looking with the point for a moment Slven was confused. The ship? Then the rest of the others statement arrived and it hit him. The reason he was drawn to the humming was because it was the same as the one in his head only...it sounded much better when Rinya hummed it. " I do." Slven commented lowly, head turning back so his ambers could lock on the other boys face, "only I seem to like it better when you hum it...so continue to do so..." For once Slven offered a genuine smile with his demand. He had to get back to training but he really hoped to meet Rinya later and if he was humming he would be easier to find. Though he needed to get back the raven was yet to move.
