Parthenia had traveled far. How far, she wasn't sure. She had left her family behind the very second she realized she was old enough to make it on her own. At least, what she thought was enough to make it on her own. She had still been a young lioness, not yet fully grown. It had been difficult at first, of course. No longer did she have her mother to provide food for her. Or her father's protection. But she also didn't have the stress that hung in the air constantly when she was around them. It was so thick, she always felt like, if she unsheathed one of her claws, she could draw a picture in the air in front of her and have everyone see it.
Now she was tired. Just tired of living by herself. If she got stressed, she always found herself in stranger places. Always afraid of what she'd done in her condition. Her creative mind had saved her in the past with her family, but now it was becoming a bother. Something she couldn't turn off.
That's what had happened just a few hours ago. A random Hyena had moved close to her and she'd gotten scared. A personality surfaced and she found herself over here. Away from danger, unscathed. But also without an idea of where she was.
Thenia gave a great sigh, walking slowly, silently enjoying the feel of the grass against her toes. If she wasn't so shy and timid, she could easily find someone to help her....If only.
That's when the purple shape in the distance appeared in her vision. Thenia stopped in her tracks, freezing like a deer in headlights. Turning around and running was high on her list of things she wanted to do right about now. What if she'd trampled through the territory of another? She knew there were many prides scattered about the land. She had come into contact with a few in the past. Perhaps this was another. Hopefully they wouldn't mind her roaming through just for today.

Thenia was trying not to move. As if she expected her bright coat to magically blend into the vegetation around her. Maybe this would be possible if she was in more familiar terrain, notably being the dried, tall grasses of her home. She had been born in the middle of such grasses. In a small clearing her father had created for her mother. There was enough of the crunchy grass surrounding them that she would be able to hear danger approaching and give a swift call out to her father, who was usually on the outside of their protective barrier. What he was always looking for, Thenia wasn't sure. It was like he expected an attack at any moment. He'd never answer why when prompted by his children. Her mother, too, was strangely silent on the matter.
Even all grown up, Thenia had never discovered the hidden secret of her family. Or what she expected was a secret. It could have simply been he was ashamed of something.
Either way, that was the past. And the lioness didn't like to think about the past. 'Specially not when part of her future was strolling towards her.
Thenia's fears, however, never came to fruition. The pretty purple lioness didn't attack with words or body. Instead, she apologized. It appeared like she never noticed the bright female standing there for so long and almost run her over.
Thenia's ears moved forwards at the friendly voice. Nothing to fear. At least not yet.
"No," she answered in a soft voice, like her mind was preoccupied as she spoke. "Could you possibly tell me where I've gotten myself to?"
